  • Smaller is better? It's an argument that's as old as the hills but does it carry water? We put our largest member of the team on Yamaha's smallest touring bike to find out. Was that a good idea? Probably not....

    This is a very good bike - and a lot of fun too. This is a perfect companion for anyone intimidated by the Tracer 900's size or just looking to try out a tourer for the first time, for what it is it's well deserving of the 9/10 score! And there is a ton of accessories available from factory.
    And yes, I have testet it, not just tossing opinions left and right....

    Got one for a year now. Amazing bike, wakes you up in a blink! Great for every possible use (even off road with proper tires)
    After you ride it, the whole competition seems dull ;-) Just changed the front springs, as the stock ones were a little too soft when you really go fast. No comfort complains - you easily do 200 miles without getting f@d up! Really impressed with it.
    Perfect all rounder, better than a lot of bigger bikes.

    I love these bikes, they are a perfect fun little bike and this is the one to get in this segment if it fits you, which it’s adjustable so unless your huge or tiny it should! It’s yamaha hyper motard for a lot less, a lot less!! And they made so many they will be fresh parts laying around for ever for these bikes. Myself like the big boy the 9/10 but I’m 6’3” 250lbs and been riding since I was a baby basically I don’t remember learning how, yea my dad was a military man 💪🏼😳 but he started training me little, I called it play but he knew what he was doing!!! Now that I’m older and he has passed, I can plainly see that! My dad was the Vietnam Vet who bought a slightly used CB750four k for little of nothing! He was a hell of a guy, and a amazing sales men, he was the kind of guy to clean your own garbage up and sale it back to you, seen him do it for years! 😂

    Good vid guys and spot-on in terms of the end result.
    I've owned one of the Tracer 700's for about 13 months and 8000 kms and truly can not fault it. When I want to ride gently it's 6th gear and ride the torque, or, drop two gears and she screams with the TEC exhaust I put on. The biggest surprise is the fuel consumption - average 3.7 ltrs per 100 kms !!!!
    Bought her brand new for 8000 euros and love every ride.

    At last another Bike Show video - it's been too long chaps!! Great review and lovely bike but what is it with the one light on thing, why do manufacturers do that?! Looks pants!!!! Keep up the great work chaps, from a grim and grey Blighty, all the best - TMF

      TheMissendenFlyer copying the old Yamaha r6 design of the low beam being one, and full beam being the other.. I had a Yam YZF R125 in the UK and same thing with the lights all to replica the bigger (popular) style.. but a lot of people mod the lights so both are on instead of looking like a bulbs blown 24/7

    I would love one of these in the usa. the only thing making me think twice about the mt07 is the lack of windshield and the simicomfortable seat

  • @cliveomahoney4096

    I had a MT07 until it was stolen in crime infested Blighty. I replaced it with a Tracer 700 which has the same engine but is far more stable at speed in cross winds (the MT felt dangerous}. In town the MT 07 is the greatest bike in the world and, with it's light weight, is the best wheelie fun. The Tracer feels bigger, gives the rider a much better view of moron drivers, and has far more presence on the road. The great engine is the thing the bikes have in common, and I love both. If I had to choose between them, I would buy a screen for the MT, hang on, and hope for the best. The Tracer is, however, a great bike. The M. flyer's review summed the bike up really - it's a big leap to the MT 09, that I test rode recently, I cried with laughter at the same time as peeing myself with terror. Bring it on!

    For comparison, I would have said the Versys or the V-Strom. Although to be honest, the Tracer sort of reminds me of my old 96' GSF 600 Bandit albeit as a 700 parallel twin and updated for 2017. Sort of like the look too.

  • @bobbybackmarker9665
    @bobbybackmarker9665 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Wow. I test rode one and found the handling left a lot to be desired. Front end feel was vague, nothing particularly great about the engine, throttle response is slightly lagging and the fit and finish look like something from a 3 year olds toy box. But then again, my reviews aren't dependant on manufacturers loaning me future test bikes or not..

      will M I felt the same way sbout the Ducati Monster 600 and something. Didn't think much of it at all while lauded universally by everyonr else. Can't agree with you abour BMW though, only 90% of their models are mingers :)

    Love the Bike Show's videos! :)
    I'm a 'mature', returning biker looking for a 'first' (for 24 years) bike that isn't going to get me into too much trouble, but have a bit of fun and zip to it. Leisure riding only. I'm looking at the Tracer 700 and V-Strom 650 - any observations/preferences/recommendations gratefully received...

    • @Tuppoo94
      @Tuppoo94 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well, the MT-07's engine isn't going to kill you, that's for sure. I got my license on one of those, and passed all the tests on the first try. It's still plenty fast enough, because the bike is quite light. It's very agile too. The stock exhaust is quiet. You can't really hear it at over 80kph/50mph. But with an Akrapovic system it sounds great!

    • @2Niels
      @2Niels 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Tuppoo - tried them both, loved them both. Went for the V-Strom in the end, as I love V-twins, it just 'fitted' me better ergonomically - and it has traction control as standard :)

    Go with the MT-09, better tie down points for touring.

  • @flippy66
    @flippy66 ปีที่แล้ว

    *Tracer - should be in the title. The Kawasaki Versys is clearly the direct competitor, the Ninja is not. The NC750 actually does NOT make 75hbp, it only makes 53. The Scrambler is a completely different bike, at this rate you might as well compare it to anything else. Jesus do you guys know anything about bikes at all?

    I like the looks of the MT 07 better then the looks of my MT 07 naked.
    I hate the MT 07 naked headlight.
    But if i had the MT07 Tracer, i would want both headlights on.
    They need to make them both on low beam and high beam.

      Same weight bike 46hp vs 75hp that's a big difference. Tracer does 0-60 in around 3.4sec that's noticeable performance.
