This song is so much better than anything in the country music genre today.. This song really grips the soul, it really is beautiful. I’m not trying to be “that guy” but I’ve dealt with so much tragedy and heartbreak in my 32 years on this earth.. I’ve lost all of my uncles, all my grandpas, 1 gramma, my momma, my cousin, and several friends.. at this point I feel like my life has been one big shit show. I’m married (8 years) with 2 step sons (youngest calls me daddy) but I still have those days where I can’t get out of my own way. This song reminds me of my grandmother. She died of colon cancer when I was only 10 years old. She was always so concerned with making everyone around her happy that she ignored the signs for years. By the time she decided to get it checked out it had spread throughout her entire body. 23 years later and I think about her all the time. Besides my wife, she was the greatest woman I've ever know.
