Go into the console, and type in a command. I think it’s cl_showpos 1 .

So, a standup bhop is basically just TF2’s c-tapping but for bhopping.

@@execut4ble I just started learning today and can't quite get the hang of it. I had a few that looked good but didn't accelerate very fast. Noticibly faster than jumping forward or running along but didn't develop into anything. strafe d, d right, a left, d right etc and can't set them up consistently.
Is there something I'm missing?

strafing additional times while in-air (instead of just left - jump - right - jump - left - jump - right) just causes me to lose tons of speed. Ideas?
you have to synchronize the best you can while strafing to properly gain speed

Do you need WON version of the game to bhop on HL1 and HLDM?

I have seen in speedruns they cap fps to somewhere 20 to make barney open doors faster, does that impact bhopping? does lower fps means better/worse bhop?
For singleplayer, yes, you need something called "WON Package" (which is a WON mod for Steam), or if you don't care too much about doing it legitimately, you can just use Bunnymod XT to get rid of the bhop cap.
For HLDM there are special mods (Adrenaline Gamer) that allow bunnyhopping, can't really do it in vanilla though unless it's modded.
You're right when it comes to lowering fps to get NPCs turn faster, but it's gonna make bunnyhopping much harder. The more fps you have, the more acceleration you get, so 20fps can be really painful.
Speedruns usually cap it at 99.5fps because that's the max you can go in WON versions of the game, and also to eliminate unfair advantages that might stem from having better hardware setups (more fps -> faster bhop).

They don't, except for the prestrafe part, I guess. A good thing to learn when it comes to bhopping both in GoldSrc and Source games is how to control your speed. One thing that comes to my mind is intentionally strafing too sharp to drop some speed in case you have too much.

Hey! Can i ask you a question? Whick is better do you thing ? Rival 310 or Rival 300S
The Rival 310 has a slightly better sensor, but other than that it comes down to your own preference, I don't think there's any technical difference that would impact bunnyhopping.

replace C/X with whatever keys you want to use. binds for mouse buttons are mouse1, mouse2, etc
I can't find a tutorial for duck rolling anywhere, please help.
It's basically doing doubleducks on the ground so that you don't lose speed. Most people use a script for it, but it can also be done scriptless with a mousewheel fairly easily (if you bind +duck to it).
executλble Yeah I know about that but I don't know when I should start scrolling and for how long I should scroll. I always end up not being able to jump because I'm in the air after double ducking.
Usually it's one or two doubleducks on the ground before the jump.I agree however, sometimes telling when to do it exactly requires experience.
Does 'duckrolling' apply to other source games mainly 'Garry's mod'?
