What a great episode, I think I've only been through Tilehurst at speed, what a lovely building, it looks like the old Airfix kit!, and so many class 59s, I had to remind myself how old they are, certainly proved their worth. Thanks again.
Wow - all of the 001s: 59, 66, 70...and 230. Interesting locations - always going to miss something at whichever station you choose, so I suppose studying Realtime Trains is essential preparation. Without doing that (and as a guess), I'd probably pick Tilehurst, if I had to choose only one.
Ha I didn’t notice that (even as I typed out the info text)! I had to do a lot of checking beforehand to see when was the best time to switch. I’d say Tilehurst is my preferred too, less busy and a lot more room. The platform on R-West are tiny!
Yes, a great video again Luke, and thanks for your enthusiasm and dedication. Your channel certainly has raised my awareness of the current railway scene for an old timer who did his ‘spotting’ in the 70’s. I also commuted the GW in the noughties and it amazing how it is changed but it is good to see freight still a stable revenue for the railways.
Thanks a lot mate, glad I could be of service. There’s still stuff out there of interest if you look for it. Nothing like it was in the 70’s but got to take what we can get 👍🏻
Brilliant stuff again Luke, the 47/57 working was a great catch - looked like a nice jolly for the 'management'! 😄 I remember my excitement at seeing the first 59 many years ago - then came the invasion of the sheds and the excitement wore off....!! Looking forward to the next vid.!!
wow loads freight trains Luke great video as always diggle junction gets better with every new installment .by the way i had to re subscribe as for some reason TH-cam had unsubscribed me just thought i would let you know look forward to the next one
I wondered what happened when I saw your name at the top of the list mate. TH-cam has been having some issues across the board by the looks of it recently. And thanks for the support as always, means a lot 👍🏻
Cheers Geoff, glad to hear my Geography isn’t as crap as I thought ha. I’ll definitely need to make another visit down there soon, what a fantastic place.
Absolutly fantastic video luke the 59'2s where a regular in west yorkshire on the ferrybridge and drax circular its brilliant some still have there american bells on too im going to try and get over to diggle some time soon to be nosey lol
It’s a lovely little place and if there’s something due we’ll no doubt bump into each other. You’re right I’d forgotten about them being up here, think it might have been a bit before my time properly out and about on the railways.
Thank you ever so much mate, it’s massively appreciated and will go back into making the best videos I can. My content will always be free so I’m very grateful that you thought it was worth donating a bit of money towards 👍🏻
Superb video Luke. Good to see Freightliner 59s out and about and nice to catch some few 70s including 70009 on hire from Freightliner to Colas Rail as well as 57009 with 47815 on 2Z03/05. 20:45 Nowadays, 6V32 is used for DB Cargo cause it swapped from GBRf on that working.
What a selection and what a long day you had Luke! Topping and tailing the management coach looked a bit over the top. I know it's criminal damage but there was some seriously skilful and colourful graffiti on a lot of those wagons.
Agree with you there John, the Daffy Duck on one of the wagons at Reading was particularly impressive haha. They mustn’t store those wagons very securely!
Bloody passenger trains! Always trying to get in the picture. Another good'n Luke and the first time we have not seen you either wet or with the family jewels at risk from frostbite.
Absolutely brilliant, you couldn’t have hoped for more. Thank you so much for sharing your superb videos. Don’t wear yourself out too much! May I make a suggestion, take a close look at Nuneaton, myself and a friend went there a while back, loads of freight,of course we could have been lucky that day. I live in Peterborough and make the occasional visit to the station for an afternoon or early evening, pretty good on freight with GBRF being there and trains coming from March, and all points East. Also those lovely class 91s in the almost InterCity livery. Plus it’s a crew change point. Take care mate & thanks again.
Thanks a lot for the suggestions mate, those are two places I already have on my shortlist for sure. I need a day trip to Peterborough to check it out, never been!
Nice one Luke and well worth the trip south. Did someone say freightfest? How true and in the world dominated by commuter trains. Can we have a bingo game for rise2set or similar?
Hi Luke, I loved this video. One of my favourites. Question for you. What date did you film this? Thinking of going to Reading for a day and wondered what day of the week to go. Keep up the great work! Cheers and Regards Colin👍👍
Thanks a lot Colin 👍🏻 if I remember right it was Feb 16th which was a Friday. That wasn’t specific though it just happened to be the day I could do, every weekday is pretty much just as busy.
Whilst some freight does go via Reading , there is more that passes through Reading West. You are probably best checking RTT the day before your proposed trip and be aware that not all will run. There is also plenty of freight via Didcot.
Cracking video.fantastic variety. I went to eastleigh, tonbridge,Cardiff ,newport from april 16th-20april.a brussey got round eastleigh works on 20th just before going home. I have a telephone number who does the guides, you are interested mate. I was lucky i kept missing the fella at eastleigh, until i went to Cardiff. Was speaking to an old guy when intold him that it would be nice to have got round the works.he then told me to meet him at works sat morning. He was doing the visits.£15 all in for charity. I hav the number if anyone wants it.

Haha I didn’t notice that at the time but it does! Yeah it’s hard to believe they’ve been around since the mid-80’s!
Nice to see the 60 Tytherington working away from Tytherington These services originate at the bottom of my garden.
Can’t beat that mate! Must be awesome.
Some impressive and interesting workings there, thanks for capturing them on vid.
Thanks a lot Phil, appreciate the support mate 👍🏻

Cheers Keith, yeah must be nice to have a jolly out with your own coach!
the class 59/2's just look like a normal shed as the original 59's from the 80s you could tell them apart! Good video 😎
Really like the look of the originals, especially because they were so rare up north.
Great video mate.i did a few hours there before I went to Eastleigh. Really enjoyed it. 👍
Cheers Mark, how did you get on, anything special?
Love the 'face' on the 60 at 14:30. Great video fella, freightfest! 👍🏻
Thanks a lot mate, freightfest is the right word!
Absolutely cracking video buddy keep up the great work
Thanks a lot mate, much appreciated.
Absolutely superb Luke, it was absolutely raining Loco’s and trains in General.
Thanks a lot John, yeah barely had time to think between trains for a lot of it!

Cheers Tony, should have another one out Friday. Good ol’ Diggle Diaries.
Thanks
Great video again Luke, especially as it’s my neck of the woods. You were correct about Didcot it’s 4 stations along the line.
Cheers Geoff, glad to hear my Geography isn’t as crap as I thought ha. I’ll definitely need to make another visit down there soon, what a fantastic place.
That was a lot of 59`s and 70`s really good video, thankyou.
Cheers mate, nice to get at least a bit of variety from the 66’s.

@@DiggleJunction No worries deserved Pal get some coffee on the next 5k Subs .!!👍
Great stuff, a bit of everything there. All you needed was a Western & a Class 50 and you'd have the perfect video!
Wish I’d have been able to get a bit closer to the 50’s hiding out back thinking back. A western would have been the cherry on top.
Another cracking film
Cheers Wayne 👍🏻
What a place! Enjoyed this one 👍
Cheers mate, nice to get one done a little further from home 👍🏻
@@DiggleJunction Yeh I bet! Same for me this week as I’m off to Hampshire .
Good job again Luke. Can't believe how much Reading has changed from when I used to all nights there in the early 90's
Cheers mate, yeah the main station is ultra modern and absolutely huge these days!
very good video duncan
Cheers Duncan 👍🏻
Thanks Luke, another nice one. Glad it stayed for you.
Cheers Bill 👍🏻 fingers crossed filming another one soon will be even better!

Thanks a lot mate, you know a video took me too long to get out when there’s been an operator change in the meantime haha.

I think we might have to look at that mate. A scaled back version of the 24 hour bingo sheets for the shorter timeframe would be good.

@@DiggleJunction you've done a few cracking 24hr videos that I've seen . You ever thought about trying to do one at Doncaster or Peterborough?
@@annatrindall9829 Thannks Anna, funnily enough the very first 24 hour special was at Donny.
