- This week Trena strips many layers of paint off an old kitchen chair. It is her final project in Ontario.
Thanks for watching. If you enjoy my video and would like to say thanks you can now buy me a coffee! This will just help me to be supported while I continue to make these videos for everyone to enjoy. Cheers to all my wonderful subscribers! www.buymeacoff...
I hope you've all settled in and are enjoying your surroundings. I can't wait to see your regular posts again. Job so well done again. I love the respect and care you put into each piece. Thank you Trena!
Thank you so much!
I can't even imagine how happy your mom and dad must be to have you back close to them again.
I was thinking about how excited they all must be! My parents and I lived in N Texas, I got married and moved to California, it’s not something I would ever do again, I think children should be raised with their grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins nearby. But,
when we were planning a trip back home, I was so excited I’d call my Mom almost daily…and that was before cell phones! I called so much that one time she said hello Lola…… she just knew it would be me. I miss them terribly, regret that I didn’t spend as much time with them as I should. It’s ironic to me that I spent years wanting to move back to Texas, and I finally did, but my parents are gone, my only sibling is gone, only one nephew will keep in contact with me, the other two are angry over politics!!! We often don’t realize just how precious our time with our family is until they are no longer with us….Now I’m 80, I spend a lot of time reminiscing about
all of my yesterdays. I know Trena’s folks will be ecstatic to have them all back home! 🤗
Thanks for the travelogue! The old shop looks sad without your projects. I hope the new shop brings you as much prosperity as the old one. Hopefully the new shop is set up for filming because we love to see your artistry. Love the last project is the elm chair. What a way to pay tribute to the craftswomen in your husband’s family.
Dear Trena, thank you so much for taking us on the journey from Windsor to Saskatoon -- don't think those of us, in the UK, can really appreciate the vast, rolling distances, and open spaces, that Canada has to offer. ~~ here the longest road distance, from one end to the other is less than 850 miles. (The entire UK, would fit 2.7 times into Saskatchewan alone).
Now my "Trena Friends" and I, are eagerly awaiting to see your new workshop, and appreciating all the magical transformations you create! Love, and very warmest wishes from London UK 😃👍
Thankyou!
Pretty country landscape and a lot of lonely highways. It's always good to return home.
Thank you for sharing, and the chair looked great.
Best wishes in your new home Trena and your family!
Your journey gave a brief idea of the countryside, and the enormous distances in Canada. Beautiful in summer, but your winters......
Thank you for all those videos, and look forward to many more!
Thank you so much!
Wow! Thank you for taking us along. What a trip! I hope that you can rest up and be well and heathy. You deserve the best Again, thanks for being so generous in sharing parts of your life and living adventure with us. We will wait on the frayed edges of wobbly chairs for the next episode!
Thank you so much!
Turbo Trena! What a history that chair has. So sad about the DED infection decimating the species. Same with Emerald Ash Borer. Glad you could save the piece and give it a new life to be filled with generations of new memories.
Trena, thank you for all the amazing videos in that shop. I know your friends, neighbors, and customers in Ontario will miss you. I hope they know how lucky they were to have you in their lives. Saskatoon will soon find out lucky they are to have you coming home to take over for your dad. I am sure he is immensely proud of you. I look forward to all the new videos you'll make in the family shop. You are an awesome person. I wish you and your family all the best in this new chapter of your life.
Thankyou!
Many , many thanks for sharing such an experience. The world today needs more stuff like this in order to balance out. People like you make this world a better place. You are blessed.
Well done Trena ❤😊All the best in your dads shop in your home country😮😊❤
Such a beautiful country. Can’t wait for all your new content.
Very timely video. 9 hours ago when you posted this video, I was in the shop trying to knock a dining room chair apart and reglueing it back together.
Since I watched your technique, I think I will be able to do the other three chairs in a lot less time. Thanks for sharing.
Glad I could help!
Fantastic! Loved the trip, and the chair.💯
Seeing your family jumping for joy as you arrived, that must have been so special for you. Wishing you all the best in your new home and may God bless your family as you begin a new chapter in your lives. Now, get to work! 😊
😁
The chair was a tough one but looks really good. Like the trip scenery and especially the music ! Thanks for sharing .

Dang, girl! There was more paint than chair! I'm glad to see you home and getting settled in (11/23). Here's hoping for great times during the holidays for your whole family, Trena!
Thankyou!
Thanks so much for the memory. The last time I did that drive was in 2010 with my husband who is no longer in the land of the living. Just seeing that scenery again brought back memories. All the best to you in Saskatoon. I’m looking forward to seeing your horse and the new shop.

Enjoyed the video Trena. The chair looks great. I can imagine you are beat and will be glad to have this move behind you. Looking forward to seeing the new shop build videos and the new life chapter you and your family are starting. What a beautiful place your Dad and Mom have. Be safe and God bless.
Thanks so much
Wouldn’t like to get on your bad side!
It must be sad to leave your home & workshop, but what a wonderful new adventure you are embarking on. Your new property looks amazing and I’m sure your horse will love all the new smells and getting to know her new home. And Nessa too.
Thank you so much for taking us with you on your move. Canada is an absolutely beautiful country and vast. It was lovely to see some of it again. Your family looked so happy to see you all again too. ❤
Thanks 👍
Glad you made home safely, loved the road journey through the differing countryside.
Thank you for this lovely video. I love the work you do and the end result is always remarkable. Seeing the travel portion was a welcome addition. You live in a beautiful country. For a brief moment this video made me forget the turmoil here in the U. S. and gave me peace and enjoyment. Thank you again for that.
Thank you, precious Trena. 😎👍🏻
So beautiful chair! It got is soul back. I got very emotional when you showed the chair and the empty shop, i dont know why but it got to me. It might have been your voice, that it was the final job in there. Wow.. I wasn't expecting that one! The road trip to your home was exiting, all the changes in the landscape. Welcome home to Saskatchewan, looking forward to the future videos from there! :)
11Nov23 Thanks for the memories. Have travelled on business to Winterpeg a few times. Loved every minute.
All the best to you all. Cheers from Comox Valley
Glad you enjoyed it
I have watched your videos for a long time and learned the right way to do repairs and restoration. Now that I am retired I started doing woodworking and furniture repair in my garage . I have always done woodworking but not furniture repair until I saw your videos on TH-cam. Ill be watching for your videos from your new shop. I live in the town of Essex. I am an amateur compared to you ,but we will keep at it and learn as we go. Thanks for your videos.
Great job with the chair, it’s beautiful! Was so surprised at the end, got a whole road trip in a beautiful country, love Canada and Canadians! Thanks for that, now I know, hope it’s going well and according to plans!
Thanks so much!
This channel is simply wonderful! Good luck with setting everything up and on the shop build, hope we can follow along with that too!
Thank you very much!
Extraordinary last project. Beautiful. So look forward to seeing your first project in your new place.
Thanks so much!
Thank you Trena for letting us travel with you to your new home! I'm sure it was so bittersweet to leave Ontario, but also so exciting to be going back home to family and friends there. I was so glad to see that you will be building your second dream shop and perhaps you will be able to add or change things from your first one, to make it even better! I was wondering about your horse and it's so great that it will be able to be with you again. So after being there now for 6 months I hope that you are really settled in and enjoying your life and new adventure! Best wishes to you and your family!
Thankyou so much for being here
Even with all the furniture out you still have lots of things in your shop I do not like moving so I can sympathize with you. I hope all is well and you are not snowed in. That's a lot of paint. Thank you for sharing.👍
Thanks for taking us along on the journey. It was kind of sad to see the shop empty, but I look forward to what your new shop will look like.
Perfect last project for you in your wonderful shop. Excited to see what comes next.
What a vast and beautiful country Canada is. Home near Mum & Dad, you should be very happy and I wish you the very best of luck. Looking forward to developments of the new shop.
Thank you so much!
Thank you for taking us along on your move! Now I have to read up on this part of Canada to see what you grow and such. Best of luck in your new home and back with your family! Can’t wait to see your new shop!
It is SO AWESOME to see all that paint come off!
Bienvenue dans votre nouvelle maison. Thank you for the road trip. Good work ( hammering)restoring that chair. New chapter for the chair and for John's Furniture Repair. Merci
Thanks for taking us on the beautiful journey to your new home. It's a beautiful property can't wait for your new videos.
Thank you for this final video from the old shop. Looking forward to future videos. ❤
I'm sure it's bitter sweet leaving your beloved shop behind. Wishing you all the best with your family at your new home Trena!
dear Trena, it is always difficult to leave a place where you have spent a lot of time working in your workshop and when you are passionate you do not count the time to restore their former nobility to all those pieces of furniture on which you are working. You have asked a lot of poorly asked questions to arrive at the desired result so you turn a page in your life, both personal and professional, you can be proud of all this work accomplished even if you sometimes doubted or faced unwanted situations. so good luck in your new workshop may you continue to enjoy restoring these magnificent pieces of furniture which have accompanied their owners throughout their lives and those of their children and grandchildren and restored their former glory. Bravo Trena for this eternal quest for the perfect job.
Thankyou!
Thank you for letting us drive along with you Trena… lovely scenery too. Country…😮😊❤
My pleasure 😊
G’day Trena and greetings from Down Under. No doubt, by now, you and your family have settled in a bit at your new home as the video was filmed in May and it is now November. What a beautiful property you have moved too and your mum was literally jumping for joy as you arrived. I look forward to seeing what projects you will be working on in the future. Take care and best wishes 😘💕🇦🇺.
Thankyou! !
36:40 "You can tell me that your dog ran away, then tell me that it took three days". Wonderful choice for a final restore in your old shop. I enjoy learning from your videos, keep 'em coming!
Thank you very much!
Thank you for a beautiful trip across Canada. Saying goodbye is always difficult. But saying welcome home and a lovely greeting upon arrival is worth it. Savor being with you parents.
Thank you so much!
#1 Best Show Yet 🎉

Congratulations on your last piece. Your mother in law will be thrilled! Best of luck in your move. Going home, how sweet those words!❤❤
Wow! What a trip! The scenery was beautiful and yes, what a way to build roads. I did notice how nice your roads were compared to ours in the U.S. So happy you made it safe and sound. How nice was it to have a welcoming committee just waiting for you! I wish you the best in building your new shop and horse barn. That is a whole lot of work for you to get done. I really can't wait for you to start posting regularly again. You are so talented and I learn something new each time I watch one of your video. I hope you are happy with the move and look forward to seeing you work your magic again!!
Tha kypu!
Well, Trena, didn't get to watch your last video in Ontario until November since I've been really busy with famiy matters since May. Sincerely hope your move went well, and I look forward to watching John's Furniture Repair from your new location as soon as things settle down Love our work.
Just beautiful and heart warming 💓 I know your parents are overjoyed to have you and your family home again 🎉
Thank you for taking us along on your trip through Canada . It's so beautiful.
Our pleasure!
I love watching you. The best craftsmen are the ones that know how to take things apart in order to make them right. You are not only a beautiful woman, but a skilled craftsperson. Good luck in your new location😎
Lovely video. Enjoyed your journey. Feel your emotions as you transition to your new home. Thank you for bring us along.❤
You are so lucky to be able to go 'home' and be with your other family. I wish you so much success and I will be watching for the new videos from Saskatchewan!
What a lovely welcome home from your family. ❤
What a wonderful trip--thanks for taking us along the drive.
Glad you enjoyed it
Hello from Scotland! Thanks for the entertaining and informative content… hope the move has gone smoothly, looking forward to seeing the new workshop!
that was a really lovely way to restore that chair. leaving the things that give it character and show its history while making it look good is really something that makes the result special. good luck in your new place!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Hopefully when you go back home you'll be able to teach again, wished I lived closer. Have been looking locally for a carpenter that teaches, but where I live in the UK there is no one. When I was at school the teachers were never interested in teaching me, as I am left-handed, so not really interested in going back to school. Can't wait to get your regular updates and to see you in your new old shop. 👍
Congratulations. Beautiful homestead. Welcome home.
So sweet that your family greeted you with champagne!
They looked SO happy to have you there... such ❤!
Your new property looks absolutely beautiful... and I wish you many, many happy years there.
Thanks for including us on your journey. I can't wait to see the new shop.

The landscape is stunning, reminds me a lot of northern Sweden.
Thank you for sharing this with us. Made me feel like I was going along this journey with you!! I’m sure you will miss your beautiful shop but I hope that will be offset by getting to be back home again. Can’t wait to see what’s next for you!!❤

such an intimate and generous video. beautiful and also poignant with wonderful music. thank you and lots of success. in the meantime you have been there about 5 months so looking forward to a progress report! cheers from the Netherlands
Yes! Thank you so much!
That is some beautiful country up there.
Saskatoon huh? I grew up in Saskatoon but now live in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta. I frequently go to Saskatoon to visit my 88 year old Dad. Now that they gave twined the Yellowhead all the way between here and there it only takes 5 hours to drive there. Saskatoon is such a beautiful little city. Such a nice drive. I remember doing it when I was posted (I’m military) from Edmonton to Petawawa, Ont and then from Petawawa to Yellowknife, NT. Petawawa to Yellowknife was quite the drive let me tell you. Nice but long drive. Excellent job on that chair. It sure had an abnormally large number of paint layers on it; what a lot of work it was. As always you did great work. Looking forward to seeing your videos from Saskatoon.
Glad you made it home. Will be looking forward to your next chapter!
Thank you!
Hi Trena and Gday from sunny Queensland Australia , thank you for the scenic trip across Canada , we do not often see much of your beautiful land , looks like might be a little chilly at times for my taste , it is the wide brown land for me , cheers Trena , i always enjoy your vids
Thanks for watching!
LOVIT ! Congratulations on the move, I know it's not easy, by any means. Can't wait to begin seeing the new installments in the New-Old shoppe !
Thank you so much!!

Loved the section on the trip home. Hope you get to start filming again soon. Don’t forget to film your new shop going up.
Will do!!
Good luck. Have enjoyed your work on air from the old shop, looking forward to it continuing from the new one.
Hi Trena, thanks for taking us along whith you, I hope the move went ok, and I guess it will take a while to get your workshop up and running, unless your going to use your dad's shop to begin whith, either way I whish you all the best , and kind regards to you and your's, and I look forward to new videos. Thanks, Stuart UK.
Yes I’ll be in my dads shop till the new one is ready. Cheers!
lovely little chair. I am envious of people with sentimental pieces that really tell a story. Great work as usual.
PS. I lived till age 40 in Northern Ontario where my family had emigrated when I was 2. It was nice to see the trans Canada highway in spring/summer. Beautiful drive. Not so much fun in winter.
Nice, thanks for sharing. I drove the Trans Canada from Winnipeg in to Ontario. beautiful scenery . took the Chi-Cheemaun ferry but it was dark so never got to see anything other than stars . There was construction then too, they simply stop traffic for about 20 minutes. when a pile of cars are backed up they re open and let then go by. No by pass so that's all they can do .
Looking forward to your new shop & projects .
good luck in your new home, from NE Scotland. x
VERY COOL Loved the road trip and that you did minimal time lapse.
Beautiful new home!!!!!!
Glad you enjoyed it
