Let me save you some time deciding which one to choose. Both aircraft use Pratt & Whitney engines. Both have big windows to enjoy the views. Both are equally quiet except the Q400 is a bit quieter than the ATR. The one inch of extra space on the ATR, is not noticeable and the ATR is a dangerous aircraft as it can not fly in real winter weather. Lastly from a pilot's point of view, the Q400 is a lot better, because of the avionics and it is ergonomically efficient, plus you don't risk life whilst operating it, as in the ATRs case. Enough said.
Appreciate the input! You’re right that both the ATR 72 and Q400 have similarities, especially with those Pratt & Whitney engines and larger windows for the view. However, when it comes to winter performance, the ATR has made some advancements in newer models, though the Q400 still holds an edge in harsher conditions. The Q400’s avionics and ergonomic design definitely make it a favorite for many pilots as well! But for some operators, the ATR’s fuel efficiency and flexibility in less demanding environments give it a unique advantage. Thanks for sharing your perspective! Which one would you prefer flying on as a passenger?
@B7_PILOT As a passenger during the summer season, either one would do. However, during the winter season, I would feel much safer and more secure traveling on a Q400. Good video.
Thanks for the feedback! I completely understand your preference for the Q400 during winter-its performance in challenging conditions can indeed offer extra peace of mind. The ATR72 and Q400 both have their strengths, and it’s great to hear which one you feel more comfortable with in different seasons. Appreciate the compliment on the video! Do you have any other aircraft comparisons you'd like to see in the future?
Regarding the speed I prefer Q400 but regarding the comfort I would rather prefer ATR. But regarding the reliability ATR is quite questionable especially considering its problems with the deicing system
Great points! 😄 The Q400 is known for its speed and performance, while the ATR shines in comfort, especially for shorter flights. However, reliability issues, like those with the deicing system, can definitely affect passenger confidence. Do you have any specific experiences with either aircraft that influenced your preferences? ✈️
That’s a solid breakdown! ✈️ The Q400 does have an edge in speed, making it great for quick hops, while the ATR focuses on passenger comfort for those longer regional flights. However, reliability concerns, especially with systems like deicing, can be a deal-breaker. Have you flown on both aircraft? How did they compare for you personally in terms of your overall experience? 😊
I hear your frustration! 😤 It can be disappointing when a comparison doesn’t meet expectations. What specific aspects or features would you have liked to see compared? Your feedback can help make future discussions more meaningful! ✈️

Can you define 'real winter weather'?
@@marcg1686 Sure. Not just cold and windy but ice, snow, lots of it, rapidly accumulating on your aircraft.

'...considering its problems with the deicing system'
What problems? Could you be more specific?
Ebu nileze plzzz nielewe
Sijakuelewa?
Where is any comparison? It is all a pointless bullshit 🤬.
