    Lloyds, Halifax and Natwest have vastly improved their apps in recent times. I'm impressed by them as far as High St banks go.

    I use my Lloyds gourmet card at my local Chef and Brewer pub but the card has no usage at some locations due to a lack of member restaurants. Overall for me it has saved me a great deal of money.

    I have a club Lloyds account and find it to be fairly decent. I make use of the cinema tickets which are sent via email when you chose your offer annually. The interest rate isn’t amazing although not bad I suppose when you consider most current accounts don’t come with interest. One thing that wasn’t mentioned was the everyday offers feature the account has which allows you to earn a percentage on certain purchases if you have activated the offer in the app. The cash back is paid into the account the following month.

    • @BeCleverWithYourCash
      @BeCleverWithYourCash  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, it’s in my written review and decided not to mention it here as I find these offers (same at NatWest, Santander etc) are rarely that useful - though it’s not to say you won’t find the perfect one for you!

    I only got this account for the interest and the freebies. I had the cinema tickets until last year and then let the wife have the magazine subscription. Brilliant for free 👊🏻👍🏻 We’ve seen some awesome films and this year, we’ll be at the cinema again.

  • @96s40
    @96s40 ปีที่แล้ว

    There were higher switch rewards available than the Club Lloyds £150 offer, but tbh: 6 cinema tickets amounts to about £70 per year at least. Plus the 5.25% fixed monthly saver with a higher maximum monthly deposit (£400) than first direct (£300). Not bad at all 👌🏻
    I switched from Starling Bank as, despite having a very nice app and non-commission abroad, the savings products/interest rate/ rewards are pretty dismal/ non-existent.

      @@theboywaal Already have and don't want to lose them in a switch. I suppose I could spare Monzo, but there must be a basic account somewhere I can sacrifice at the alter of switching deals. I guess my main issue is that after recently getting a mortgage, moving, setting up a few new bank accounts, my current Experian score is very low (oddly though, my TransUnion score has been unaffected and is actually really high).

      Go with Barclays. They're solid and will always remain around long after every other bank disappears. These other ones may offer these little extras to lure people in but if you want somewhere you know your money is safe then definitely Barclays Bank.

    If I have a Lloyds current account and update to a club platinum will I get the £150 switch bonus? Or as I’m already Lloyds and not technically switching will it not count?
    Also with paying in the 1,500, if my salary gets automatically paid into the Lloyds account will that count or do I have to transfer it in myself?
