Best budget bali imo and I have tried a lot lol. -Baliplus BRS Replicant Tanto - somewhat heavy balisong and great for modding. You might need to put a lot of work to get it really good though lol. -TheOne CHAB - best overall but cost more. Most of the time, I heard it is perfect of the box and really good tolerances and grip. -Baliplus Kraken Tanto - kinda light but really good balisong. The only aluminum balisong that has good grip imo.
Appreciate your take on the subject and thanks for the video. I'm no expert by any means but my thoughts are, like with anything else 1) get what you can afford and don't feel bad for it 2) popular brands tend to be over priced (some are worth the price) because they know people will pay for the status symbols. These are all massed produced which saves money and the popular brands are selling their product at a very good markup because they know people will by them for the status. I've worked in manufacturing plants that made other types of products than knives but its the same principle, when its done with cnc machines its for a couple reasons 1) cost, over the long run it is cheaper to have one machine you pay for once and maintain than it is to have multiple employees who have benefits, expect raises and get paid overtime that do what one machine does 2) one machine can churn out part after part consistently the same in every asspect. Clones prove that these manufacturers dont need to be selling their knives for as high of a price as they do. Sometimes quality parts and materials may be a factor but the clones are starting to also prove that isnt necessarily true any longer.
It's a really great Balisong from construction too the flipping, from good materials and for 100$ perfect and I don't give a fu*k "it is clone-it is not", I'm for flipping and good Balis and if you have cheeper good one,why too buy "original" for 500% more money!??
@@acesplays4078 this was months ago before baliplus released theirs. They now have a v3 version too. Both baliplus and armed shark. At the time I commented though, it did have the best build and quality
@Kr4ken thanks for the info! definitely will be dulling the blade a little bit. I would try and sand the bushings down, but i’m too afraid i would screw it all up, and don’t have the best idea on assembling and modding bushings.
@Kr4ken i would love to know how to maintain a bushing bali and keep the tolerances there too. any videos you know of that are great to learn how to do all that stuff?
@Kr4ken i’ve had experiences through 2 people saying theirs came eith perfect tolerances out of the box. but if it’s needed i will for sure sand and do all that.
S2g is a really good seller. You py a premium over ordering yourself from aliexpress but you get it ALOT faster. And they take the time to really try and put the right sized bushings in each one off the bat, ive gotten a few knives from them and all have been great. Got the frankenrep and it was awesome out of the box, i think they even loctited mine, since they are pre-assembling these using baliplus and theone parts. Theyre pretty good at tuning them decent before sending. I cant speak highly enough of them.
Where can I find the exact model he’s talking about in this video? I can open and close one but that’s about it and plan to learn. People keep recommending Squid or Tay something, I don’t mind spending $100 if I can get a decent quality to learn with before I dive into a $300+ model
You can get it on aliexpress. It’s a Chinese company and it will take about a month to come in. If you have $100 to spend tho you can buy a Mako from squid industries or a Nabalis Vulp on amazon
@@cantflipforship the 4.5 Mako? & I didn’t know about the Nabalis vulp either. If you got a 100 to work with go with the channel alpha beast clone by theone. You will not regret it one bit. By far the best flipper i own and ive got dozens. My favorites are the chab and the kershaw lucha with flytanium aluminum channel handles. They also have clones of those now in a trainer on aliexpress
In my opinion sellers are taking advantage of the market. The hardware they are built cost under five bucks washers an bolts and want people to pay two hundred plus. Sadder they market fake blades at the same rate. I buy only cloneswhen it comes to trainers. Paying anything over sixty for a knife to just play wirh is dumb and thats why companys make them because they know people will buy into it. I like companys making plastic flippers for under 100. Makes more sense then asking for two hundred to just spin it around
Tsunami clone is really the only clone I support. Squid could 100% make a drop online and make it full production. But, they refuse to. I will never pay 1k for a knife ever, especially for a knife that's 750.

@@cantflipforship so I would still be fairly noticeable when flipping your not completely dulling them flat like an actual trainer. I have s2g Franken rep I dulled down for my trainer. I just didnt know if I should take the edge down more or how much u would recommend to make it a trainer. I have spare sharp blade if I wanna go live with it. @@Patterson66 yeah 100% the balance on the live is better. If you have a spare live blade then I would say dull it down as much as you can.
