- Last lap of the week end. Very lucky to get a clean lap without traffic, I was going for probably under 8min20.... but not enough petrol in the tank, car stopped to accelerate after Karroussel 2

Anyone who says FWD cars can't handle needs to watch this. It's completely neutral with almost no understeer. The front end has so much grip without resorting to dreaded understeer. The first time it truly understeered wasn't until @7:28, when the tires were probably getting pretty greasy/too hot. A huge benefit of FWD is the ability to claw out of corners too. That's why I love my MINI. On paper they don't look all that fast. Then you drive one and realize you can pretty much go flat out, all the time. The gear ratios are perfectly spaced. And yes, they're fast. ~220 hp in a 2,700 lb car is more than enough to keep up with just about anything out in the real world (i.e not a drag strip). Mustangs, M3's, 350Z's ect. I do it ALL the time ha ha.
di foo!! - there are so many tricks to make FWD handle well, you're absolutely right. I explain some on my channel.
Actually that corner on the ring is a point where almost any type of car will understeer. Due to that a lot of driver's crash because they tend to lift the throttle when getting understeer, resulting in snap oversteer.

I drive a MINI one 2018 and even with only 102 HP it's a lot of fun on the twisties

FINALLY!!!! I’ve spent two hours looking for a video of someone actually driving the snot out of one of these. Ive owned one for probably 9 years now and it’s been broken and being built now. And I miss just raging the piss out of this car on back roads like this. Awesome driving mate. Love the car

Wow.. you're down shifts are beyond perfect. I grew up with exotic cars. I have a pristine 2004 JWC in my garage. You do not have to spend a lot of $$$ to have a fantastic sports car.

Hi Im in my 50s with failing health,my first car was a very old mini 850 and Ive had about 5 of various models and now I drive a 21 countryman cooper S and even though its bigger it still drives like a mini. Loads of power from what may be my last car. 1st and last. Love em!!
POV of this video is great, because you feel like you're actually on track yourself! Great driving, me and my brother were thinking of coming up at some point to give it a go! I've got a Mini Clubman JCW and my brother has a Mini Countryman WRC edition with various mods!

I have a R53 Cooper S. 2005 and on 140,000mls! Goes like stink, goes round corners and still a bloody fun car to drive! I just make sure it’s regularly serviced and it looks after me :)
I use Kumho Ecsta tyres and they’re grippy but wear quickly.
Less than a minute off from the fastest bike around this track and you had more traffic to deal with.

Definately a sub 8:15 mate, possibly even sub 10. Props to you for even displaying the 8;29 lap time when its not a accurate reflection of your cars obvious potential and your skilled driving. Amazing video! seemed like you were getting undeersteer at times, which was odd to me since I had an 04 cooper s, and it would lean oversteer a lot more, whats the reason for this, was it just the track, or does the GP tend to understeer?
It's not an understeering car. Just adapt the driving for this track

Car is almost standard. Just decent brake pads, -17% supercharger pulley, janspeed manifold and decat.

I greatly appreciate your driving. With a slight bit of practice, you might be ready for some racing at Nordschleife. I've seen far worse drivers driving much faster cars slower than you.

all that was standard. Just smaller SC pulley and better brake pads

Si je pose cette question c'est parce que je suis en pleine réflexion / chercher d'une petite sportive pour de faire plaisir occasionnellement pour environ 6000€ et la Mini 170cv est dans ces tarifs. Mais là fiabilité est loin d'être son point fort du coup j'exclus pas d'autre modèle. D'ailleurs si tu as un une voiture à conseiller je suis tout à fait preneur . Specific color of the GPmk1. I believe the official name is thunder blue. But its more like a dark grey with blue tone

Nick English Photography don't know ds2500. Tried brembo hp2000, wasnt good. Yellow are great value for money. Just bé careful when cold

I used EBC Yellowstuff on my R53 JCW - lasted 1 trackday! Now I use Carbotech XP8 or XP10 - they are awesome pads and last much much longer too

the light is on only because of the decat ;)
