The fish is not struggling to breath, there gills do that in and out of water, that fish was out the water for less than 5 minutes, and water is poured over the fish, fish can stay out of water for 5 minutes without water being poured over them in the summer, and up to 15 minutes in the winter, as long as you have a bucket of water by the side of the fish it's fine, I aim to have all my fish weighed and checked over and pictures taken all within 5 minutes and return the fish safety to the water, I have been fishing for 20 years and have not had a problem in this time!
