      Pop filter will solve all of that easily and rather cheaply. Just grab one off Amazon!

    This is something my figure drawing professor used to say all the time. It's also the best reason to get meaningful critique from established peers and professionals - so you actually know what you are lacking, and where to put your effort.

    Great video! I used to do a lot of deliberate practice but since last year I have long my focus energy but I still haven't given up. Just need to refuel my focus energy!

    Great tips as always. Do you have any tips regarding studying anatomy and approach to sculpting ? As a beginner should I focus more on rough details and doing simple head busts?

      Many ways to learn, i would advice a course or book that will guide you through it for starters, an anatomy book intended for artists can work wonders if you use it well

    Im just gonna say my best models have been durring my severe insomnia states with good music in the background. Last big work i did i hadnt slept for almost 5 days and i just felt like modelling a bunch of junk.

    Glad you mentioned not to do it after a long day of work because that's when I've mostly been doing it. I would nod-off ever few minutes then just quit cuz I can't stay awake. But then again, I only have 1 or two days out of the week to get to practice soo... Double edge sword there

      Same. It feels bad, but I want to save my prime time for my paying work or my kids, so my art is always dead last. Feels bad.

      The struggle, i get it trust me. Try brainstoryming on how to manage your time, you might be surprised how much time you can gain throughout the day and see if you can allocate some to your art if that is something you want!

    I thought of something interesting while watching this. How many of you are able to reiterate all 10 tips after watching this video? More than likely, you can't.
    I'm starting to approach art tip videos differently;
    after each tip, I pause the video and recall what I just listened to. That way, it's more likely to stay in my long-term memory. I'll rewatch this video again soon (repitition) so I can reinforce this knowledge.

      set the strength to 0.1, the default is too strong

    I hate being poor, I'm 18 years old and I have the desire to have a Computer and a Wacom table to draw and to make digital art, to be Brazilian poor is bad man

      you can always practice art with a paper and pencil, in fact that is important if you want to improve and it costs next to nothing. That with help from the internet to improve your art fundamentals till you can affort a pc and transfer that knowledge to your work in 3d is what i would personally do, just my advice.

      Maybe you should set default settings. If it won't work, then change your render engine. And if the second solution won't work, then you should give up and download stable version. This is beta and things happen.

      mm drawing would be good especially for character development, learning about concept art and all. As for animation i don't do much of that but check the fundamentals of animations if you haven't yet

    I notice that I always have a great start, but I seem to miss something. It seems like I skip a big part I end up with a fake unfinished thing even if I spend hours on it. What can you recommend?

      It is a tough question i don't really know your work to see what is missing, but sounds like you are rushing the blocking stage

    when I'm sculpting multiple objects, for example a face and teeth being two separate objects, sometimes I only want one of them I want to have symmetry on. Is there a way to set only certain objects to have symmetry on in sculpt mode, while off in other objects? I know I can symmetrize in dyno but I don't want to rely on that.

      for now you have to activate or deactivate symmetry when needed, you cant target objects from what i know

    hey, how are u?
    I've seen some videos where people tend to decimate their models when they get to a really high polycount, keeping most of the detail and then keep refining it with dyntopo, decimate, dyntopo over and over again to "optimize" the polycount as much as possible.
    What do u think about this workflow to deal with really high dense meshes?

      Use dynamic topology, worry less about poly count at first

    you talked a little about art basics like anatomy, and how it is important to learn them. I have an anatomy book I've been studying, but I find my mind just drifts off and I'm just reading it without really processing it. Do you have any idea how I could prevent this?

      Probably how the info is presented to you doesn't match with how your brain works, try watching videos, reading other books, cheat sheets on pinterest, traditional sculpting videos, etc.

      I had the same problem at first, i think it is because so much info is new at first. I would then focus on small parts and repeat the read till i focus and grab the info,sometimes i would revisit the same page a few days in a row.

    Thanks for the video! I really don't want to sound like an ass, but I feel like you might want to tweak the sound of your mic a bit, it is _really_ heavy on bass, it almost hurts to listen to :( noticed that with most of your videos

      Surprised you got that from previous videos but i definitely agree on this one, i got a new mic which i used for the first time on this video and i haven't had time to figure it out yet. It had some serious pops which it isn't supposed to have, will work on it. Thanks :)

      Longer sessions will likely result in frustration. Take small breaks after about 15 minutes, intake a very small amount of sugar (sip of Gatorade every 5 min). To sum up the information in the link below.

    Please move a couple inches away the mic, I can hear the shaking of your vocal cords (I'm at 2 volume and I can listen normally-ish, you're quiet, but any higher and it feels like you're in my ear regardless of volume)

    If anyone has ADHD, I recommend taking a small break after every 15 minutes and a *very* small sugar intake to increase brain energy.
