REASON FOR THIS SAFETY RECALL
In some of the affected vehicles, deployment of the front seatbelt pretensioners during a crash event may cause a fire inside the driver or passenger side B-pillar trim in the vehicle passenger compartment. A fire in the B-pillar area may spread within the vehicle and increase the risk of injury. Odor and/or smoke may be evident prior to fire propagation.

Thank you for this, Ford. I have a 2015 King Ranch and this was done to my truck today. I dropped it off, got shuttled back home, and had it driven back to my house after it was repaired. It took about 2 hours.

Thats the fix?🤣🤣🤣 Those buchers will put $3 worth of tape but in the process f..k up and scratch s..t out of my trim and probably half of tabs will end up broken. No thank you.

Wojciech Gierczynski any new vehicle that comes in with the recall it is fixed immediately. So basically if you don’t see a scratch on a brand new truck. It won’t happen to yours

You're not very smart are you? If you do it yourself it's still going to show as a recall in the ford system. If they figure out you did it and aren't certified to do so you can get in all kinds of trouble. What happens when you sell it and your "repair" wasn't done right and someone loses their vehicle or life because you wanted to "save money" on a recall that doesn't cost anything to you and can be done with the ford mobile service

50+ thousand dollar truck and this is a repair?
I'll take a pass on having a couple of my hours wasted waiting for my truck to be fixed, and then half assed fixed at that, maybe new pretensioner's are the answer, instead of tape and a bit of luck.

lmao recall notice say you are modifying the sound damping material that implies changing or moving it not out right deleting it prbly cost more to word the notice then all the foil tape going to run

Techs at the dealership I work at call this the "arts and crafts recall". You take too long buddy, most techs I know including myself can do both sides in 15 minutes easy. You don't have to be gentle with the panels, I've only ever broken one out of all the trucks I've done, and it was only because I did it outside in the cold, plastic got brittle. No need for that trim tool either, you should be able to do it by hand.
