26:00 One thing to keep in mind that a6700 18 mins overheating was in direct sunlight as well. That was very brutal stress test being direct sunlight in Florida.
@@16Stops Looks like same thing. If it's in direct sun light for long periods then it will overheat. That's par for the course with these small cameras. Either get an umbrella if for some reason you are recording in direct sunlight for long periods or you need to spend more on a more video centric model.
Nice podcast as always, almost 1K !! Congrats !! About the overheating, I do understand you are video user, but a6700 and R8 are not dedicated video camera, as a hybrid shooter, maybe 60/40 using the photo mode the most, I can say that overheating is not a problem, since day one when the R8 came out, I encounter one time it overheat, and it was in full sun at 30+ celcius, maybe it's because I,m from Canada and the temp is less harsh, but for the price, and if you shoot 10min less video, this is a great camera! Great job on the podcast!
@@16Stops Ah the LieMax presentation! ;) I was asking because 15 perf/70mm IMAX presentations don't have previews but looks like thats not the case here.
@@83442handle I went and saw it at 70mm/15 perf, at my showing they did do previews but there was a brief few minutes after the previews that it was complete black while they switched over and started thew movie
It's a bit like that Blackmagic 6K sensor, its been in most of their line up for the past several releases and even the new camera is rumoured to have it! I get from a cost saving perspective however across all the manufactures it does feel like we haven't moved much since the A7siii/R5/6KG1 came out. I also think the overheating is pretty unforgivable at this point. The type of person who the A6700 or ZV-E1 would be ideal for is also they very person who probably wouldn't know how/want to work around an overheating camera. They just want something that works while they record their TH-cam or podcast.
I'm going to see Oppenheimer in IMAX today! We only had one IMAX in Providence RI and it had to cancel a couple shows. Someone had to fly to RI to fix or troubleshoot. It was completely sold out in IMAX in New England for so long.
Actually if you went to IMAX they did not show previews for Oppenheimer in 70 mm. It says it on the website. Maybe they were having the same sort of technical issue.
@@16Stops I'm wondering if the Marketing Executives over at these camera companies equate their merchandise with like that of luxury cars that are named in a similar way- BMW M5, M3 - while the consumer category of cars have name thus lower in status perhaps. But then again the likes of the Lamborghini Murcielago and Urus, which I suppose could be considered red level branding
@@16Stops Sony has already done it with Venice. It would be cool to see that same city theme trickle-down to at least the other FX video cameras. I can just imagine the Sony Florence, Sony Vienna, and any other city known for art
I disagree. There is a lot more to a camera than just the sensor. Mostly, I feel Sony's multiple models are justified because they fit different users with different budgets and preferences. Also, the processor systems count. The biggest difference between the a6300 and the a6400, from what I could find out, was that the a6400 could record 4K with less heat issues, which is a processor matter. The array of preset colors was better too, though I think that the changes were within bounds of adjustments for the a6300.
Hey Everybody!
Stoked to be back:) What's your conspiracy theory in the camera world?
Jiu Jitsu is a great cover, but you really don't HAVE to buy and trade gear at a breakneck pace.

4:30 was it a 15 perf/70mm IMAX presentation ?
It was a digital IMAX projection. Unfortunately there aren't any of those theaters near me projecting the 70mm version.

Agreed. The person that it’s made for won’t really understand how to work around it

I've been on the fence between the r5c and the c70. Internal NDs are so nice to have...
What is more important to you: video or photo?

TH-camrs are influencers and they’re terrified of not being invited on Sony press trips.
