Hello ... I also purchased this printer ... In windows X I cannot choose which tray to print from. I just get "tray 1" or "auto select". In windows 7 the printer works normally .... Could you help me on solving this problem please?

I have ordered the Brother MFC-J6955DW which I believe is very similar to the model you reviewed. I hope it will meet out needs, what I wish to know if it can take thicker types of paper like glossy or even matte photo paper and the print quality on those papers. Also because I have switched to an Iphone, I also sould like to know if this printer ic compatible with Apple air print.

I decided to purchase this printer after watching your review and I can say that I am content in general. There is only one issue that I need to solve. In windows X I cant choose which tray to print from. In windows 7 I can choose which tray to print from before sending the print to the machine. Could you advise me on how to solve my problem ? Can I connect simultaneously to WIFI and my LAN (what speed)?
At the time of recording, what do replacement color cartridges cost?
If one uses the FAX option, does the printer have the option of storing the incoming FAX(s) on a PC for review prior to printing?
I will benefit if you make a video on how to print hard paper to do door hangers or post cards
What is the difference between this one and the MFC-J6955 ? Also does it support Apple air print?
How do I print on envelopes?

How do you get a fax confirmation sheet
Is this printer also compatible with matte, gloss or luster papers? For like stickers and thick gsm paper. Or maybe do you know any other model that can do so?
The one thing I wanted to see was the INKvestment thing.
Ordered MFC-J6957DW but it scans documents landscape mode not vertical as most printers. I can’t seem to find in the settings where you can change it so that it’s automatically vertical when you receive it in email. Any ideas ?
How does scanning work if you can't use the app?
Does the ink go dry ? This was the problem with me when I used inkjet printer long time ago

I didn't know what you meant by A3 and A4 paper so I looked it up and as it turns out, I'm still a bit confused by both. I'm in the U.S. and am looking for one that can scan and print what we call legal size paper (8.5X14) here in America. Will either of those trays fit 8.5X14 paper?

For my small business and personal uses, I'm looking at 4 possibilities.
For an over all AIO; Print, Copy, Scan and Fax.
Ink sustainment is a major factor that is a requirement.
Does anyone have any experience, insight or knowledge in comparing the Brother InkInvestment as compared to the Epson You Fill the Tank types of AIO's or the excellent HP Envy Photo 7855 AIO? Or the various HP/ etc Color Laser AIO's?
Over the years I had both the Two Cartridge HP Ink AIO's and a Four Cartridge AIO. My experience has been that the Two Ink Cartridges use lesser ink than the Four Ink Cartridge version.
I'd like to see HP also come out with such a an large tank Ink well type AIO series.
As HP did come out with their Ink sustainment plans which only applies to certain models.
The HP Color Laser AIO's also look very promising as well.
It looks like Laser or these Larger Ink reservoir types of AIO printers are AIO's of the future.

How to scan a large copy like A3 paper not A4
can it scan duplex?
How would you rate the durability of this all in one? Does it suffer from clogged ink? I would like to print in volume but still undecided between an inkjet or a laser at the same price.
I already bought it, as long u use daily should be not problem or least print once a day (FULL COLOUR CMYK) . The ink is cheap! compare to canon(I use canon before the E series). As long u keep printing should be not clog(I already use about 3 month now, all good and really fast!)
However it can NOT do Poscript or Print PDF's from the USB port.
That wee detail is hidden away on page 635 of the horrible 643 page manual.
is there a wide format printer for like 12" wide by 24" long?
Not an MFC - there are lots and lots of jumbo sized printers - just go your local Fed-x store (or similar) to take a look at what they have. For example, they have poster printers for about $8 a copy as I recall, banner printers, and blueprint printers.
Demonstration of the paper tray load of the A3 would be very useful... you have to extend the tray so it sticks out, and leave it out to make it available. You should really have demonstrated the 11 x 17 printing and scanning option. The 11 x 17 scanning is the only thing differentiating this printer from the MFC-J5945DW, if I am not mistaken. So why would anybody even buy the MFC-J6945DW ?? Only for the 11 x 17 scan. Yet not even a mention...
11x17 scanning and output... is super useful though in many situations.

Yes, that's what he did here ---> 7:07 when he said he scanned "double sided". Double sided is the same as duplex scanning.

Yes, as MakeWayForCJ said. Note that he says he's going to do it at 6:29, and that you can see that it scans both sides in a single pass, then he comments on it (and shows you the results) at 7:07
