2008 lexus GS 350 AWD I had a shudder between 3rd and 4th gear anywhere from like 25-35ish mph when I had little pressure on the gas pedal It would go away if I would give it more gas or get off the gas completely I had a drain and fill done at the dealer Drove it about 500miles and the shudder was way less frequent and the shudder felt toned down I had another drain and fill and now I drove it over 1,000 miles after the 2nd drain and fill and I have not felt a shudder at all in those 1000 miles Change your fluids yall

Have a 2014 Jeep Cherokee with only 64k miles. I got it used not long ago. It bucks badly only when warmed up, foot on gas, and over 45 mph. The other day it bucked horribly on a short trip, it cooled off for 2 hours, and then didnt buck at all on the return trip?? That happens some times. Had it totally checked by the Jeep dealer and another respected mechanic and its had all its recalls and updates done. They both say its the converter. This era of Jeeps had a huge recall and even class action lawsuit because the electronics on these had problems and the fixes on these 9 speed jeeps that were sent out didnt work for lots of people. MY QUESTION is if its the torque converter can it behave like this? Not do any bucking sometimes and other times its scary. And the car is always fine below 45 mph. If its not we are out of options. Trans is slipping in 3rd gear. 1st and 2nd are good and have no lost in pressure so I’m not sure why it’s doing it in 3rd. No cel codes, all shift solenoids tested good and the temp sensor. Even changed the filter and fluid as a last resort. So I have to replace the TC now?
I have an 02 Toyota Tundra, it is stalling when in gear, but not in park or neutral. The truck sat for two years, before it sat this never happened. Both times it has stalled on me there is no check engine light. When I got it running again due to a bad rack n pinion, I put heet dry gas in the tank to make sure it didn’t have water in the tank from condensation. I believe the spark plugs are relatively new. All the symptoms you listed in this video are not what I’m experiencing BUT I’ve been doing research for the last hour and this is being pointed at as a possible culprit and I would like to know if you have any tips or ideas on how I can rule this out or make sure it is the issue. what is the dangerous temperature? My car seems to sudden and hold the gear or slip when accelerating from 2nd to 3rd gear and when I go easy it still does it but does not really shudden. Hi mate I dunno if this is related to my recent issue, I’ve got. 2012 Peugeot 508 1.6 e-hdi, it’s an automatic car but when I lift my legs off the breaks the car won’t move on it’s on when the gear is on Drive until I press the gas and then it rise to high rpm before moving, usually it move on it on when I lift my legs off the breaks but now it doesn’t do that anymore and when I moving fast I get a massive vibration like the round surface is uneven and follow by a stinky smell coming from the AC vent
My 2000 Ford Ranger 3.0L will shift into Reverse and Neutral fine but it will die immediately when put in any forward gear. Could the Converter or the TCC solenoid be the possible issue. Truck was a gift and we found that no transmission filter was in it. We replaced the filter kit.
Hi got an 09 hemi ram..when I changed the fluid the truck got back all of its tire spinning power..maybe 6 months later noticed it seem to fall back to where it originally was..went into 4th gear a few times and no other gear...but all seems to work fine..just lost tire spinning power...what do you make of this??
If the torgue converter bad. Would it cause transmission fluild come out onto the exhuast. After running the truck in 4x4 for 15 minutes on a dirt track, the truck starts smoking. Only to find out its trans fluid on the HOT exhaust...thanks...

I assume the clatter would have been the rear differential but it sounds like it's coming from the transmission. The lunging makes me think torque converter.?

I have a 2001 Nisson pathfinder, check engine light comes on, code was P1175, I think if I remember correctly. Took it to my mechanic he says he doesn’t work on trannys. So I take it to transmission shop. First he says it’s electrical the solenoid. So he replaces it. Then tells me the check engine light didn’t go off and he still got that code. He tells me it’s the torque converter. I have to save for that. My vehicle does not give any symptoms except that the check engine light is on. What’s your opinion?

Hello, I need help diagnosing or fixing this issue with my truck. It stalls above second gear and the speedometer flickers a lot, could be going between 30-80 km/h. Its a 2006 Chevy Avalanche. The check engine light is on with error code P0449. I've taken it to a dozen mechanics and none of them have been able to find/solve this issue. I had the transmission replaced in 2018 and didn't experience this issue before. Basically when the truck tries to shift into 3rd gear or above there is an 80% chance it will stall, the engine RPM will skyrocket but the vehicle will slow/stop until returning to second or first gear. I would really appreciate any help i can get, thanks!

Also when driving I feel rattling sometimes and also low squeaky noise, I bought the truck used some one put a universal transmission cooler instead of the original, could that be the problem, would it be a good idea to change back to the original cooler? Yea but I head replacing or flushing the transmission fluid can actually destroy the transmission if it doesnt fix the problem. I have a shuddering problem with my 18 Camry but they are saying to replace the trannsmission.

What do you mean hard throttle? For me I have to when I attempt to accelerate it takes around 3k to 3.5k rpms to really even move much, I got up to 20mph with the help of slope on the road but it didn’t want to shift up gears, or just didn’t get up enough speed

My mustang GT sat for almost 8 years on the garage. Had a new trans and torque converter installed less that 1000 miles before putting away. Have it back on the road and now it wants to stall when coming to a stop (like a manual trans without depressing clutch) can this be a fouled or hummed up torque converter! No lights on dash

I've got a 96 crown vic that has a vibration while at idle with the brakes applied and the transmission in either drive or reverse. It goes away when I take my foot off the brakes or put the transmission in neutral or park. Would anyone know what the problem is? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
@W Hollenbeck I actually had the motor mounts checked when I had new back brakes installed and they were ok, spark plugs and air filter are fairly new but I'll check and see if it needs trans fluid though. Thanks for the reply.

Can running John Deere hygard help with a failing torque converter? At least temporarily?

Whats the average general transmission temperature? At what temperature would it be considered overheating?
All transmissions and fluids run at different operating temps. If its American, assume it runs very hot. 200 degrees easy

There could be several issues combined such as bad motor mounts, spark plugs, clogged air filter or even low trans fluid.
