I’m using a Bipper at the moment could do with the next size up. I think most of the French vans are great, slightly flimsy in the cabin, tough in the back and mechanically robust. Having done 150k+ mikes in Renault Zoes in the last 6+ years I’m happy with the drive train and the merits of EVs if you use them for the right thing in the right way. Good review thanks.

The Berlingo is one of the best vans on the market. Mine will be a same vehicle, but with the Vauxhall badge!!

The new Transit Courier will be out next year. The Berlingo is a great vehicle that is already on the market.

I’m going to put you straight on this vehicle!! It’s simply a Vauxhall Combo van, with all the same features as that.

My problem with the van version is that I prefer something with windows. My one, therefore, is the Vauxhall Combo Life Electric.

I just jump to the end now to see if a couple of different vans turn up to counter your review

Small note, the original berlingo came out in 1997. There was even an electric version (I have a 2000 one) What's the layout like in this? The predecessor (the B9) had terrible weight distribution as all the batteries were right at the back. There are many things I can immediately spot that they could have done better on this new berlingo, starting with the gear selector, the E-NV got this right , and also had a proper mechanical handbrake and mechanical park pawl. I am also worried about telematics RF pollution on this (as is the case with the larger e-Dispatch) maybe there is a way to switch all that stuff off, but I cannot even see how to turn off the bluetooth. Good to see the sorted the body on this XL, as the extended B9 body looked ugly .

Thanks for thr thorough review. How is load going to effect range?

Extra weight will mean the motor has to work harder to maintain momentum, just like an internal combustion engine would be affected and need to use more fuel. As to how much it would decrease the range, well it would vary depending on how much you put into it.

@@AutoEV Hi, I've had two Partners and a Berlingo and loved them and now their EVolution. th-cam.com/video/y_eDs-2J5zo/w-d-xo.html EV James and Kates reviews are useful. K (:

You will get 3.5ish miles per KWH with a light load at sub 60mph journeys and 2.5-3miles per KWH with a fair bit of load at 60+mph so realistically 175miles or less total range. We have achieved 200 miles from our 50 KWH ev loaded up but we did the last 70 miles super carefully. Most EVs do the same sort of numbers. Always remember that you will loose 20-40 mikes at really low temperature.

Kia and Hyundai are SOUTH KOREAN companies rather than Chinese!! Get your manufacturing locations right, mate!!
