    Interesting thing about this song is the lyrics in the Swedish Version are completely different than the English version A lifetime of war, telling a completely different story.

    • @Templarofsteel88
      @Templarofsteel88 2 ปีที่แล้ว +25

      I usually explain it that the Swedish version tells the story from a Swedish soldiers view while the English version is more of an "outsiders" view.

      This is because the 30 years war affec ted many swedish soldiers and sweden was a big part of this european war. You might evben be decsendenat of someone who fled this war. 30 yerars is a long time. EWven by modern standards. Neiotherv ww1 nor ww2 lasted that long.

    As an American Veteran, I wish to share with you Sabaton's 82nd all the Way about Sgt. York, Medal of Honor winner from WW1. A band called Amaranthe has done a cover of it also. There is also a video of both bands playing it together live. A 3'fer so to speak.

    Best single concert moment ever, for me. I was there, somewhere in the middle and damn, it was emotional, 10000 fans singing the entire song, many with tears in their eyes. This was feburary 2020, so it turned out to be the last concert for two years now, so happy I got to experience this live. The english translation is a bit jank in places but it's great that something is there so that non swedes can understand it.

    Nice reaction, I was at this show (sitting somewhere in the middle of the platform to the left from this view of the stage) we were around 10 766 people at the arena that night (going by statistics from the show)
    Just before this clip started Joakim asked everyone to hold up their cellphones since no one carries around a lighter anymore.
    Needless to say, this was one hell of a show, sadly, this was just before covid broke out and started canceling shows (had for once tickets for 5 shows and 1 festival that year and this was the only one I got to attend)
    The subtitles are kind of a hit and miss on some of the parts but at least you get the general meaning of the song from it.

    A song became my favorite purely because of the memory attached to it. I went to my first in person metal concert it was in my hometown and a pretty small band I absolutely love Blackbriar. I showed up an hour before the venue opens and while waiting who walked the wrong way and I got to see her? Zora Blackbriar's lead singer so I asked for a picture. When the venue opened I could walk to the front immediately. In their first song Zora walks up to me, kneels down and offers me her hand. She did this one more time after that during the bridge of Beautiful Delirium and that's my favorite song of theirs now. I was known as the lucky person at the front because of that. I never could have asked for a better first concert. I also got Zora to sign the paper bracelet I got at the entrance. It's draped over the wings of my dragon statue so I will always be reminded of that concert.

    Your interested into something where dark rock meets glam metal meets gothic meets synths meets clear vocals meets growls and screams?
    -> Lord of the Lost“ from Hamburg / Germany.
    Their singer Chris Harms changes between beautiful clear, dark singing and grunts&growls. They are great musicians and released beside their regular albums three acoustic „Swan Songs“ longplayer with a classic ensemble.
    They just released a new album and a couple of videos from this album. One is „The Gospel of Judas“ which is a very good start with Lord of the Lost.
    Another suggestion to get into their music is „Under the sun“.

    Did you know .... A few of the Sabaton members could have died in September 2019. In Tunisia they had a very serious traffic accident.
    In 2012 three or four members left the band to start there own band Cival War. Frontman Joakim and the bass player were the only ones left.
    Sabaton is definitely in my top 10 favorite metal bands. And on March 4, 2022 there will be a new album.
    O and by the way. Do you know what a Sabaton is? Is it part of a Knight's body armor. It's some kind of an iron shoe.
    And the song you like is from the album Carolus Rex (2012).. Name of the song A Lifetime of War. The whole album is about Swedisch (war) history. I think it's about the crusades and Carolus Rex was a Swedisch king. And the whole album is available in Englisch and Swedisch.
    Thanks for another awesome video bro !

    Rammstein, haha. They are great! I'm Dutch , so Germany is our neighbor country.
    Okay ... Du means You. Hast means Have and Mich means Me. So, Du Hast Mich means You Have Me.
    Like this .. Du hast mich gefragt und ich had nichts gesagt. In Englisch > You (have) ask me and I said nothing.

      LOL still have no idea what the song is about if that's 90% of the lyrics? I'll have to look up the meaning some time. Thanks!

    • @JudgeJaco
      @JudgeJaco 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@maximumentertainment4414 It's about marriage. But another German word is Hasst and that means Hate. The singer Till Lindemann is a poet, so he plays with words a lot. Hast (have) and Hasst (Hate). The song is roughly about marriage and hate. The song is also part of the first Matrix movie. The OST of the movie. I don't see the connection and maybe there isn't one, haha.
      Fun fact: before Rammstein the singer was a basket-weaver.

    By the way, now that we talk about nordic symphonic metal 😄😄
    The present drummer in Nightwish Kai Hahto, has a past in Wintersun, and Jari Maenpaa, leadsinger composer and perfektionist beyond compare.
    He plays all instruments exept drums, by himself.
    The album Time 1 was six to seven years in the making, because computers at the time was not strong enough to handle the huge amount of tracks, so they often froze on stage 😳
    NOT a good thing in concert 😳😳
    They released an live performance from the Sonic pump studios, a few years ago, and I must warn you!
    8-14 minutes doublebass 😳😳
    A WALL of sound ❤️❤️
    Hope you would like to hear them too 🥰

    Swedish pronunciation is not super hard. Just read it as phonetic spelling with different inflections depending on context. We also tend to use "composite words" without spaces, which causes fun mistakes when someone adds a spec in the wrong place.
    "I" is not "aij", it's just "e" like in info or inside.
    "E" is not "eee", it's just a long/deeper "ehh?" like enemy or empty.
    "A" is not "hey", its "ahh" like aha or another.

    Waooo!!!....Congratulations my friend!! ..Here you have your best new year gift!!....Today it is very difficult to find reactors like you who have never reacted to the best singer in the world, Dimash Kudaibergen, who has 7 octaves and 3 semitones vocal range (An alien) ... Maybe someone made you a request to react to Dimash, but you have not had time .... I am going to dare to recommend that you meet Dimash, because when you do it for the first time, your life as reactor will change forever ....For example, the number of views that you have today, it will increase by 300% in a matter of a few hours and you will get a lot of new subscribers.....But when you react to Dimash, don't do it with his most recent songs ... I recommend that you go to the year 2017 and react to the song that made him a global idol ... I mean the performance he did Dimash from the famous French song called "SOS D'un Terrien en Détresse", when he participated in the famous Chinese reality show The Singer in that year 2017 ... With that performance Dimash earned the reputation of being the best singer on the planet, so I recommend you start with that one.... You can also start with the other famous live version of that song that Dimash did the following year 2018 when he was invited to the famous Slavic Bazzar festival in Belarus .... Both performances are from another planet...And I have to give you a warning: Never react to The World Best videos, because they suck!...Your life will never be the same again, after reacting for the first time to Dimash...And your first reaction to Dimash will be something very special, so I recommend that you do the best job of your life as a reactor, because that first video will be seen by thousands of people around the world, maybe millions...I hope to see you first reaction soon and if you don't mind, I'd like you to mention me as the person who recommended reacting to Dimash, but if you don't want to, that's fine...

    "Du hast" make no more or less sense if you know German or not. Similarly with something Like bailando. Why the text of Bailando is not quite only nonsense. it could just as well be.
    The lyrics of Du hast (mich) losly translate to "You own me" and where the main part of the song is pretty much just you own me until death do us part. and where he ask the love interest if she (presumably) want to be until death do them part.
    Thats it, that is the whole lyrics. Its basically a propsoall.

    What about a female fronted band from Germany wich has stylistic influences from Korn, Slipknot and In This Moment?
    -> Null Positiv
    Their highly charismatic, energetic and powerful singer Elli Berlin has a large range from clean over harsh vocals up (or better down) to growls. Her voice is really unique in a very positive way.
    A band that is definitely worth to be reacted to
    The song "Independenz" is a very good song to experience the range of singer Elli Berlin

    I think it's fine to pause a couple of times in a song, but in general I'd prefer a full listen through, possibly with a comment or two added "live", and then a discussion afterwards about what was liked or not. I'm not sure how anyone manages to truly analyse a song with so many interruptions.

      Then people complain they had to wait 5 minutes to hear a reaction, and other people click off the when the song is over. It's ok, I'm a professional, I know what I'm doing. Plus if I wait, I forget things I wanted to say. When something jumps out at me, I point it out. I listen to the song multiple times in a session
