    This is our first LONG format documentary-style video. Should we do more of these ? You let me know in the comments down below 🔽🔽🔽
    Excuse the sound quality on some of the early episodes, it is not always super clear, feel free to use subtitles or just jump out to later parts using the timestamps in the description

      Yes. Sometimes videos like this are good because it has a lot of details. I advice you to make documentaries about empires and videos of 10 minutes for battles, special moments in islamic history etc.

    This is well worth the hour of watching, masha Allah you have a great style of teaching and presentation. Hope this channel gets more recognition and success.
    In my opinion, longer videos work maybe better than very short ones of 4-5 minutes, I think it makes it easier to follow the bigger story, while if it's too short it can feel a bit choppy. It doesn't necessarily need to be always very long like an hour, for videos in general maybe 15-20 minutes works right, though for more comprehensive documentary-style videos like this, an hour works.
    I just have one suggestion, the videos are very informative and entertaining but to people like me who don't have a good knowledge of history, the details and names sometimes get hard to keep track of, maybe a slightly slower pace and more comprehensive explanations can help in this aspect.

    • @animatedislamichistory
      @animatedislamichistory  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I tend to agree. The only reason I go for shorter ones is to be able to publish once a week, as this takes time. But maybe 15-20 min every month is better than 4-5 min every week? Who knows maybe I can do every 2 weeks with 15 min long episodes. We'll see insha'Allah. Happy you enjoyed the format!
      For part 2 of the Almoravids (1090-1147) I will try to be more thorough with names and all

    Why didn't the AlMoravids push further east, against the Hammadids, Zirids and especially Banu Hilal?
    This would give them more troops to pour into Andalus, and it would give them control over a third of the Mediterranean.
    From there, they could even help the Muslims in Sicily against the Normans. And perhaps invade the Ismaili Ubaydi/Fatimid Caliphate who were in decline. Maybe even getting involved in teh Crusades....

    • @animatedislamichistory
      @animatedislamichistory  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Don't forget that despite them controlling the Maghreb region, there were every now and then some insurrections to take care of, specifically in the desert regions. The administration of the Empire was also a massive time sink. Sometimes you just can't go further due to logistics. It's hard to say but from what I read, there was PLENTY to take care of in the Maghreb alone.

    The Almoravids or Almorabitoon are of of the Sanhadja confederation of the Amazigh people’s Baarak Allaho fiekom. Not berbers as this is a derogatory term and an exonym not an endonym.

    We Muslims have to follow The Quran and Sunnah. Islam is The true religion with undeniable proof and evidence. We Muslims believe in Jesus but not as God and we don’t believe God has a son. Jesus peace be upon him is a prophet and Messenger Of Allah (God) and he is the messiah. He wasn’t killed as Allah saved him before they could get to him. There is also scientific and historical miracles mentioned in the Quran such as the formation of the human embryo as well as the creation of honey in bees. There are Islamic prophecies that came true and will come true and I recommend everyone to try and learn about them. I myself know of people who were ill and suffering with issues (including black magic) and got cured miraculously when the Quran was recited over them. I invite everyone to learn about Islam.

      I checked, the word "arab" comes 6 times in 1 hour 7 min long video, referring to "arabian horses" and "arab sources". The title and thumbnail literally says Berber / Amazigh empire. It's a praise of what they have done, but they have done so in the name of Islam, and not in the name of their ethnicity, be it amazigh or arab.
      Additionally, Oxford is not a reference when it comes to islamic history

      @@animatedislamichistory Your portrayal of the visage of these Berbers is inaccurate. It may not matter to you but it matters to many. Why not be accurate? Arab people have done so many great things; why not give Berbers their due?

    • @animatedislamichistory
      @animatedislamichistory  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@bushido007 first of all these are very simplistic portraits. Secondly, I worked with the information that I had. History sources I have do not detail in length the way people dressed. They do mention that the Almoravids used to wear face veils, which is why you can find these in the second half of the video. Thirdly, wouldn't you say that dedicating my most important work to a Berber dynasty is in itself giving them their due ? Lastly, I believe I have quoted the word "Arab" exactly 7 times in 1h7 min when speaking about "Arab sources" or "Arabian horses"
      My point more generally is that there is no ill intent here. The channel promotes Muslims regardless of their ethnicity. We are soon starting a series on the mamluk Turks, I hope to see you then.
