Had no idea that people haven't figured out how to breed these guys. They're definitely gorgeous and well tamed for wild caught.
They're a species on my wish list. But I'm gunna wait til you crack the code on how to successfully breed them.

I'm astounded that no one has tried breeding the broad headed skink.Where I used to live, one big guy would sun himself on the step. I could put my foot down next to him and he would just look up at me and not bother to move. They are quite attractive as well and I think they would make amazing pets...But I really like skinks,so there ya go.

Have you, could you do a video on acclimating this species? I have bought them twice, took them immediately to my veterinarian and still lost 3 of 5 and 5 of 12. Way too costly and heartbreaking. I've had her for 2 years and have her in a 55 gal with 3" of sand a hot side and a cool side UV lighting water bowl, a few hides and various insects (dubias are her favorite) she even comes up to the tank wall at dinner to beg for food just like my bearded dragon

Breeders across the United States and worldwide, breed these lizards. I think they even have advantages over the extremely popular leopard and crested geckos and in some ways bearded dragons. And these are much lower in cost and more affordable then Blue Tongue skinks. I love the idea of not having to buy expensive UV bulbs constantly. They might actually eat those dehydrated black soldier fly larvae which are naturally high in calcium and available very large bags for poultry on Amazon Prime.

I think they need a deep substrate least 12 inches deep top layer very dry and lower dig in very damp and moist ,it's extremely hot where they are from and seasons very there are times when humidity is 20 percent at dry season and there are times where its 40 to 60 percent depends on the season and rain fall I know April the temps get 42 to 50 c and that's insane and very hot they are made to take harsh conditions if I had some I probably would give them a deep substrate 12 inches leave top layer dry and bottom layer damp.and moist probably put pvc tubes in corners and pour water in them so it keeps the bottom layer damp and moist I would think they would dig down til it get cool and I would think they would bury there eggs to that depth too , at night the average temp is 28 c to 30 c so it's very hot where they are I think people aren't keeping them hot enough I know reptile rapture got eggs but didn't hatch them probably was incubated at wrong temp I thought about get some and trying to get them to breed I might just do it people need to realize it's extremely hot where they are and they are made to take harsh temps but they probably buried down til they get cool and the bottom layer substrate damp and moist would do this I don't know just voicing my opinion I ain't no expert but have bred a lot of different reptiles just like Frank so hopefully someone will get eggs to hatch but I am thinking about getting some and set them up and try

Sorry to hear that. As wild caught animals they can be susceptible to all sorts of problems.

Would X-rays show us the sex maybe?

Whoops, you said it, to me I would find it worth it to do X-rays. They could do a large group at a time likely.

I find it a shame, when you have a pair of great animals, that voicing your opinion is taken as though you are a know it all and gets bad reactions, but it will be house everyone who follows his own protocol and gets some results!!....and... please don’t start crossing them, as was done with the Rachodactylus leachies!!...they should be kept to their own “type”........if you will!!....soon you will not find a single on that looks the same!!...I really don’t think it’s a good idea to get a brain storm and start that idea.....I think it leads to a reversal of production , and they just quit on you....the expense is awful and become so distressing!! What about what the individual animal feels??....ever think of that one??....thanks,,!!...do study and do your writings....that’s what’s lost in the computer business......lost info is smack in the face, and you can’t retrieve it!!...thanks!!
