It snowed 8 inches in wildomar California years back. Clinton Keith road had cars stuck all over the place for miles to the freeway. AAA and 911 couldn't respond yet the swat team has tanks. I cleared the road that night and never charged a dime. Not one person would hook my rope to their car to save their life for liability reasons.

Earlier this year, my job sent me an assignment to work at the Navy base in San Diego. I'll tell you the homeless situation downtown is insane. I've never seen anything like it, and I used to live in NYC, where there's homeless people living in the subways. Even at my hotel, which was supposed to be a 3 star, the homeless had a row of tents all lined up at the rear. You can't even walk on the sidewalk because there's no room. The city need new elective officials because obviously what they're doing ain't working.

No they don't. They gave that right up when they decided to live the way that they do. The OVERWHELMING MAJORITY of homeless folks in San Diego don't want support. They want free money and to be left alone to their addictions. It's FAR easier to live on the streets than it is to accept housing and abide by the rules of the housing. (No drugs, curfews, no fighting, no stealing, no alcohol, no drugs, etc.) If you willingly choose to live like an absolute zombie, you diminish your own humanity. Let them move into your house since you're such a bleeding heart.

      @islamisthetruewaytogod6812 ปีที่แล้ว +6

Hello ! May Allah protect and guide you to his light and happiness in this life and the hereafter, God bless, Ameen. Excuse me for giving a little presentation of Islam, because it is very misunderstood nowadays, especially on those « Antichrist's » times, where media and politics are mixed to distort history and truth. And terrorists (puppets of the Antichrist) who misinterpret verses, out of ignorance and political motivations, and take them out of historical context (just like radical atheists do by the way), don't help either. Thank you very much for your time.
Islam is an arabic word that means the Surrender to the One and Only God, our Creator, Protector, Provider, who gives us life and all that we have, we are safe and sound by his will and grace, we are His and to Him we return, and we have to thank him in this trial life by submitting to him by our free will, or later in the Day of judgment when it's too late to save our own skin. Islam was the original Religion descended to earth from heaven with Adam and Eve (peace and blessing be upon them) in the beginning of humanity. and was passed to people with the succession of the 124 000 prophets and 315 messengers of God to all nations and civilizations since, passing by Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Ismaël, Joseph, Moses, Aaron, Joshua, David, Solomon and Jesus (Peace and blessing be upon them) during the history of mankind, the last replaces and completes the previous, until the succession of the last messenger of God fourteen centuries ago, Muhammad (Peace and blessing be upon him) to complete the noble morals of all mankind, to bring humans and jinns out of darkness into light, and to purify people's religion and belief from corruption and polytheism, and return it to purity and true monotheism, like it was in the times of the prophets (Peace and blessing be upon them).
Many Religions that we know nowadays, at their beginning were true and under Islam, initiated by one of the prophets of God, but their original teachings, history and scriptures have been corrupted over time with falsification and polytheism, or lost and replaced with false ones. That's why Islam is the only Religion accepted by God nowadays, which consists in bearing witness that there is no god besides Allah (God in Aramaic, the original language of Jesus and the Gospel), and that Muhammad is His servant and messenger, just like Jesus and Moses and others are His servants and messengers. Never a messenger of God said he was God or literally son of God, it was the people after him who changed the words of God and corrupted the Religion. God is unique and absolute, He does not need to have a family and sons or to associate anyone else with His kingdom, He can simply create whatever He wants, everything belongs to Him, and to Him everything will return. Allah said in Surah Al-Mu’minun : “God has never begotten a son, nor is there any god besides Him. Otherwise, each god would have taken away what it has created, and some of them would have gained supremacy over others. Glory be to God, far beyond what they describe. The Knower of the hidden and the manifest. He is exalted, far above what they associate. (91-92 / Translated by ITANI).
Allah means the one and only God, the God of all prophets and creatures, the creator of the universe and mankind, and the Master of the Day of judgment, where our destiny, Hell or Paradise, is decided based on our faith and deeds in this trial life, and above all, Allah's mercy.
Allah said in Surah Al-Ikhlas : In the name of God, the Gracious, the Merciful.
Say, “He is God, the One. God, the Absolute. He begets not, nor was He begotten. And there is none comparable to Him.” (1-4 / Translated by ITANI).
Allah said in Surah An-Nisa : O FOLLOWERS of the Gospel! Do not overstep the bounds [of truth] in your religious beliefs, and do not say of God anything but the truth. The Christ Jesus, son of Mary, was but God's Apostle - [the fulfilment of] His promise which He had conveyed unto Mary - and a soul created by Him. Believe, then, in God and His apostles, and do not say, "[God is] a trinity". Desist [from this assertion] for your own good. God is but One God; utterly remote is He, in His glory, from having a son: unto Him belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is on earth; and none is as worthy of trust as God. Never did the Christ feel too proud to be God's servant, nor do the angels who are near unto Him. And those who feel too proud to serve Him and glory in their arrogance [should know that on Judgment Day] He will gather them all unto Himself: (171-172 / Translated by Muhammad Asad).
Allah the Most Merciful said in Surah Ali-Imran : Behold, the only [true] religion in the sight of God is [man's] self-surrender unto Him; and those who were vouchsafed revelation aforetime took, out of mutual jealousy, to divergent views [on this point] only after knowledge [thereof] had come unto them. But as for him who denies the truth of God's messages - behold, God is swift in reckoning!
Thus, [O Prophet,] if they argue with thee, say, "I have surrendered my whole being unto God, and [so have] all who follow me!" - and ask those who have been vouchsafed revelation aforetime, as well as all unlettered people, "Have you [too] surrendered yourselves unto Him?" And if they surrender themselves unto Him, they are on the right path; but if they turn away - behold, thy duty is no more than to deliver the message: for God sees all that is in [the hearts of] His creatures.
Verily, as for those who deny the truth of God's messages, and slay the prophets against all right, and slay people who enjoin equity - announce unto them a grievous chastisement.
It is they whose works shall come to nought both in this world and in the life to come; and they shall have none to succour them.
(19-22 / Translated by Muhammad Asad)..
      Salam (Peace) -----

San Diego's actually one of the most aggressive cities/counties in California's towards the homeless. They recently just made it to where the homeless people are no longer allowed to sleep on the streets and built a massive encampment for them. I myself just voted for a Republican mayor in Oceanside who is also taking a similar aproach on the the matter. I visited San Diego last summer. I was chased by a homeless man. I ran into the street and then into the first store I saw. The store owner knew exactly who the man was and scared him off. I told police nearby and they knew exactly who the man was. I saw him later standing screaming in the faces of an older tourist couple waiting on the street corner.
I lived in big cities like Paris as a single female, and I’ve never been chased by a homeless man before or had my safety threatened in such a way. I wouldn’t have visited San Diego if I knew… I won’t be going back soon.
Edit: I also didn’t mention because my comment was long, I thought I would walk back to my hotel from a really famous park (I feel shame that I’ve forgotten the name right now… You know it. It has all the museums and maybe a zoo? in it). I got to the corner of the park and the street, and a young guy came TEARING out of the bushes and trees with a bandana over his face (obviously in a gang). He was clearly running away from someone. He kept looking over his shoulder.
That was one thing, but then he followed me (alone) and a couple other tourists my age walking across the bridge and through the streets. He kept trying to talk to us. I was sure he was going to steal my from us or pull out a gun. I walked really fast to try to stay near the other tourists because safety in numbers! And was glad we were along busy streets? More witnesses to maybe deter crime? Lol It was a 10-15 minute walk with him actively trying to engage with us. He really didn’t relent. He could have been just wanting to talk to people or on drugs, but… who knows. So despite being a world traveller and having been to 20+ countries and traveling solo to some… I guess San Diego had my two most threatening encounters for street crime.
(Paris you know where to avoid, like Bois de Boulogne, and homeless people can be agitated, and there’s tons present. But the city wouldn’t allow people to be this aggressive toward civilians and just walk around freely harassing and endangering people. The San Diego police knew and didn’t care. Gang member, maybe could walk around free… because you’d have to catch them, lol. But I don’t think there’s gang activity in Paris…)

The problem is not whether someone has a home or not. I am tired of the issue being "homeless" vs "homed". The problem is that a section of society have become so disconnected from social norms that they are effectively living in a separate society, one in which anything can be done (running naked, spitting shouting at people, stealing, openly doing drugs, defecating etc).
If this new "society" (that are, indeed, often homeless) were on some remote island, then nobody would care; they would be the crazy island, on which there are no rules or laws and anyone can act as they wish. We all know what the result of that would be like - nobody would survive. Why? because the very reason we *have* societal norms is to *preserve the society and the health of those who live in it*. It is why most countries on earth even *have* society and not a chaos of no law or order.
However, this chaos exists *within* our society. It *benefits* from that whilst giving nothing back (and hence is parasitical); all of these individuals live in a country that protects them - from a military, health care, infrastructure (yes, the sidewalks and water supplies and electric lights etc) as well as the knowledge that the normal society will not infringe upon its right to be the chaos it is. Try enacting their chaos on their own, without the shelter (home) of being in the US.
So, this is not a "homeless" problem, it is the lack of societal norms in a group that approach chaos that is the problem. One could be homeless and not chaotic - in fact that can happen; morals and ethics can be maintained whilst being "not in a home".
Can some be brought back into society? perhaps although this remains to be seen - in San Francisco it gets worse by the month :(

I remember the good old days where homelessness was disincentivised.
The cops never beat them up, but they would constantly check out the homeless and remove them from urban areas.
The main issue was "if you look like a homeless sack of shit, wandering around an urban core, you will be moved on, processed, or delivered to social services".
I was once a homeless person.
I moved on with my life because there was a way out, and also because I knew if I became one of those drug-wrecked losers there was only the way down.
The authorities need to move in and drive the crazy homeless people out of the city.... maybe a compound... and maybe drive them out of the compound too.
At every stage the homeless need to be offered support... but make no mistake... if you just let homeless bums fester, they will just encourage failure and despair

Sounds like a typical Californian. There’s a good side to the story, just that having lived there too noticed that some people there wanted the government to magically make these challenges go away. San Diego had pretty good programs then and they worked pretty well, very practical and took into account the situations of people, backed ‘em up with what they might need to get back some independence. When a town in northern Cali. outlawed homelessness it seemed kind of NIMBY, and like if they just made a law it would all go away. Thought at the time some Californians seemed to believe government was magical. Figured they could just outlaw hunger, cancer, poverty, maybe the common cold. Still want to give you credit for your individual and personal accomplishment, though figure you don’t need it, you know you’ve done good. Thanks for reading the long edit, wishing you the best.

They have made the local libraries unusable for families or anyone who wants to borrow a book, shooting up in the toilets, screaming at staff, threatening anyone who dares to 'look' at them. Couple months back I came across a guy twitching on the floor of a Walmart bathroom. I recognised him as he's local and has been saved from O'd'ing three times by first responders. He also steals from and bullies shoppers and older folk. So I simply left him there, writhing and high on his fentanyl and didn't alert anyone. I figured he deserved to encounter the consequences of his own actions. But any bleeding hearts out there can relax, as someone else found him and in minutes firefighters and cops were on the scene, all trying to save this criminal yet again.

      @islamisthetruewaytogod6812 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Yes, the majority of homeless people are drug addicts (primarily meth, Tranq, heroin, and alcohol), have festering wounds, smell of the most offensive stench you can imagine, and bring crime to our neighborhoods (physical violence and verbal abuse/car theft/vandalism/break-ins/trespassing/stalking/loitering/scavenging/defecating on property/etc.). I used to be idealistic about the situation as well until I lived amongst the homeless day-to-day, and experienced their reality and the reality that they bring to low income neighborhoods, many of which are “chosen” by policymakers as designated “shelter” locations. The residents of these neighborhoods don’t have a choice in the matter! Mind you, the neighborhood I live in is low income. The majority of people in my neighborhood are living paycheck to paycheck. Many people in San Diego aren’t aware of how extremely horrible and dangerous the homeless situation has become, because they are far removed from it. Instead, they champion themselves as “social justice warriors” when in fact they do nothing to help solve the problem. Must be nice to wake up in a safe, clean neighborhood where you never hear gunshots, screaming, shouting, moaning, and fighting from the homeless/criminals, or see their dead bodies on the streets in the morning by your car when you’re trying to get to work (an experience I had a week after I moved into the neighborhood). Within a 2-mile radius from my apartment building, there are over 200 registered sex offenders (type in your zip code on the Megan's Law website). Some are in violation and most are repeat offenders. Many are classified as violent. Many of them would be homeless if they weren’t on government assistance. There are even homeless people living in my neighborhood who are registered as sex offenders. One in particular masturbates out in the open right by the I-5 N freeway entrance. In California, a lewd act can carry up to 6-months in a county jail and a $1000 fine, or probation. A homeless person certainly can’t pay the $1000 fine, and how many homeless people do you think the county can hold in their jails? So, they end up back on the streets “on probation”. There is no specified number of misdemeanors a person can get in California before getting a felony charge. It is up to the judge and prosecutor. The system is broken, and this is largely why society is broken.

One was in 2014 in San Francisco when I stopped an obviously mentally ill man from attacking another man with one leg in a wheelchair over a bottle of water that belonged to the man in the wheelchair. Then in 2016 in San Diego in Ocean Beach during a break at a small-ish music event another mentally ill man just randomly attacked me out of nowhere with no warning, no build up, nothing. Out of nowhere I just got hit by a dude who smelled like shit. Luckily he didn't get a very good hit in so I wasn't knocked out and was able to defend myself until it got broken up but still he easily could have knocked me, or anyone else, out with a random sucker punch like that.

A lot of homeless people start doing drugs after they become homeless as a coping mechanism, so you should probably just say "don't become homeless kids" though that's rarely a conscious choice people make. Some people get fired from their jobs or become ill, maybe their partner dies and they just can't afford housing anymore, maybe the bank seized their assets due to bankrupcy or any other number of reasons that lead them to become homeless. It's usually not as simple as drugs = homelessness.

The people you put in office get told how to do their jobs and they have no choice but to adopt the policies of the people around them and they're told 'this is how things are done' and 'this is how you will do your job' and 'this is how it's always been'. The system is the crime. The policies come from the Freemasons, secretly running the country and supervising our lives from behind the scenes. Canada and America are totally corrupt, lawless industrial penal colonies that torture and murder their own citizens for fun and profit. The cops are a criminal gang that smirk and sneer as they do all this. Firefighters, teachers, church groups, law firms and more are all in on it and they all cover for each other.

If republicans actually came up with a reasonable plan of what to do with homeless then we might consider voting for them. Instead they waste their time implementing laws to ban a woman’s right to medical choices and banning words in books.
Last time I was in Houston (a red state) I saw just as bad homeless as CA. If republicans can ‘fix’ the homeless crisis, I’ll believe it when I see it.

I live at the northern end of San Diego county in the “nowhere land” between Escondido and Temecula. Nothing but vineyards, horse stables and wilderness. Beautiful beyond words. And not a single homeless person in sight. Why? Not because the locals wouldn’t stand for it or because police would drive them out of the area. Nope, out here there’s no incentive to be “homeless”. There’s not enough bleeding heart liberals, tourists and methadone clinics to take advantage of and it can get pretty hot in the summer. They’re “homeless”, but only on THEIR terms. They’re mentally ill, but coherent enough to know where they DON’T want to be. You think it’s just a coincidence they all congregate together in the same urban areas in places where the weather is near perfect most of the time? 😂😂😂

San Diego San Francisco LA damn it’s really getting bad. It’s bad in my town too, Nashville, we’ve had a huge influx of homeless. You can’t stop at any intersection downtown and not see one on every single corner. Drugs is the main cause, I can assure you. I’ve known lots of homeless people, my aunt was homeless on drugs for almost her whole life. It’s hard to watch and when they don’t want help what can you do even when it’s your family? They’re adults you can’t force them into anything and if the cops and the hospitals won’t help, the courts won’t help, you can’t do anything. Broke my grandmothers heart.

    • @person.X.
      @person.X. ปีที่แล้ว +3

I doubt it is an influx, most likely they are locals. You will get the problem getting worse wherever the affordability of housing deteriorates. If there was cheap housing available then most of the homeless would have a place to live.

It's not about how adorable housing is, it's about how accessible drugs have become. The homeless make money but all of it is used to buy drugs and alcohol instead of going towards rent. Some people pull $200 a day panhandling only to spend it all to get high, they don't even buy food because their addiction to the drug is stronger than their desire to eat.
