So glad prof has had you guys on TCC. I even searched Obuun deck stuff and your video didn't show up. Commenting and up-voting to help you beat the YT algorithm.
Also, THANK YOU for including a deck list in the description. Everyone else's deck tech's expect you to watch the video over and over to remember all the cards they recommend.

I found this guide helpful for sure!
I added a few cards mentioned to my current list. I’ve been wanting to build Naya for quite a while and I’m so stoked it happens to revolve around lands 😈

I really love how you approach building Obuun. Focusing on what makes him special is rad. Thumbs up

It is so funny you mentioned colossification because it was one of the first things to come to mind when making a deck around Obuun. The fact that it gets around Obuun being tapped is why I think it's perfect here. I will gladly pay 7 mana to attack with at the very least a 23/23 haste trampler. Even if your opponents have blockers, If they are low on life and have no removal, they will have to block with many resources to survive.

This is good channel. I bought the Obuun precon because it was cheap, and am not realizing what a cool commander it is.

I went Phylath, with a sub focus on tauros and Grumgully. Gotta keep my big brain plays down to two colors, simple jack self cant juggle 3 colors well. Phylath can rebuild a playing field nicely. As always love the vids brother!

I have built Phylath. I suggest ashnod’s altar, it lets you chain phylath by playing him, saving him to the altar and a few plants, and then replaying him. I was able to make 38 plants in turn.

I put Collective Blessing in my Obuun deck. It's really good! You should try it. Not only will it buff your creatures plus 3. But the land will get an additional plus 3 on top of what Obuuns power is as well

Bro Realm Razer+ feldar’s retreat and phylath, makes this deck crazy. I won 3 games this week and hit someone for 118 after blocks.

What about conclave mentor? It doubles the landfall triggers from obuun and the abilities that give +1/+1 counters, such as proliferate.

Titania is my favorite. My son has Angry Jellybean. Now I’m waiting for 5 color Omnath before I start building another landfall deck.

I like Brion Stoutarm in my build. It’s fun to throw a 13/13 mountain at the person you just attacked it with. I run several protection spells/auras in my brew. A lot of land ramp. Land in total is only 44 :o

Also I like to run lands that for a bit of mana you can turn them into a creature and then use your commanders ability and add his power and toughness to that as well, Inkmoth Nexus for I think 1 colorless turns into a 1/1 creature with infect and its still a land. Then u add the +X/+X and trample/haste and suddenly your the biggest threat at the table. Love your land protection cards u put in there. Will help protect my land creatures from dying

Obuun is my favorite landfall commander, because it doesn't have to be so "land" focused, and it's not as annoying as the blue Omnath (both of them).
Definitely going for the Abzan style equip/+1/+1 counter route with Voltron here, I like versatility and it makes the deck less relying on the commander.

I've seen a ton of videos on obuun and I'm curious cause my testing I seem to be the only who abuses Wayfaring Temple with Omnath and Moraug.

I really want to throw Darksteel Citadel and Inkmoth Nexus in with Obuun. Citadel just because it's Indestructible by itself.
With Inkmoth, if I'm not mistaken, you can animate it before combat and then target it with Obuun's combat trigger to turn it into an X/X Flying/Trample/Haste/Infect.
The only real issue is that they're colorless lands in a three color deck.

Question: with Xenagos, if you stack that trigger first, decide to double your Comm power, the the land would also get that power right? So preferably use Xenagos' trigger on your commander, and then use your commander to create a creature land?

I have this same question. Did you ever find the answer? I believe it works but want to be sure.

I don't think you can double the land's power with xenagos, even stacking triggers, when xenagos triggers it needs a target, and at that point the land is still a land and not a creature

Target obuun then the land still gets the power boost and obuun gets the trample

My normal land count is around 34, more are too much, but I usually run a lot of mana rocks 🤔

    • @OneMoreMana
      @OneMoreMana  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

I know very little about cEDH so in more competitive decks that might be the way to go. Typically I'll just base land count on avg. cmc. Any deck less than 3.0 avg cmc I'll consider 36 depending on ramp, and 37-38 minimum for anything above that. Lands decks kind of just break that and anything below 42 feels too low. I basically never cut lands for rocks as when you start missing land drops due to low land count those rocks just get you to parody and can easily be blown up. Ramping to parody is a dangerous trap cause it feels like you are getting ahead (playing rocks missing land drops) when essentially you are just spending mana to stay on pace with everyone playing a land a turn even without ramp. All the while your opponents are spending their mana on actual spells. Obviously this is just my opinion though and I have no data to back this up, was actually thinking about doing a video on the theory of it int he future though!

@@OneMoreMana actually makes sense. I used to run 30-32 lands, but that just got me mana screwed too many games. 34-33 is the sweet spot. Land decks like my landfall deck, MLD deck, or jolrael's play between 36-38... And then we have decks like my Anje deck that plays 26 hahahah
