Thank you Rania and Ju-Hyun. Independent journalists with journalistic integrity are the heroes of our time.
Thank you so much for this segment about Korea.
Instead of arming Israel, Ukraine and Taiwan; US tax payer money should be spent on infrastructure, healthcare, education, homelessness...
You're damn right, now get organizing and make the word healthcare a threat to the us goverment
If so I reccomend, KGB asking from them help!
Instead of invading Ukraine, Georgia, and chechnya; Russian tax payer money should be spent on infrastructure, healthcare, education, homelessness
Resistance to imperialism is growing. NK is a key actor in this resistance.
Are you crazy ? Rania is a beautiful Arab lady but she choose America like millions of Arabs. She just want more power and control for her and her Lebanese Brothers.

Fascinating interview.
This conversation was super informative and interesting. I learned so much listening to Ju-Hyun Park. Thank you for bringing him on!
Very interesting conversation, here in Spain we "for some reason..." don't get much info about Asia, and the "info" that we get it's really more like a western info-mercial; this fills a lot of gaps.
Hello to Spain🇪🇸 from Russia🇷🇺!
It always a joy and a pleasure to listen to Ju-Hyun. So perfectly said and informative. And Huge Respect to NK, a true strong, proud country to stand up against other big evil countries👏👏🗣️🗣️💪💪
It's interesting to see how the mainstream narrative versus the purported "state narrative" of the DPRK compares side-by-side.
Notices how almost everytime, you'd only find the vilification of the country so normalized in the mainstream narr. version, as continuously regurgitated by the Western MSM on a regular basis. It's almost like a moral obligation to reinforce the same contemptuous, x' 'phobic sentiment against the country's very existence.
Yet for the most part, what you're going to see from the purported "state narrative" in DPRK is rather candid pictures of a country that, despite arduous sanctions, has been striving to develop and preserve its form of socialism based on autarky model.
Every year, the country has been continuously and steadily improving and growing its own economic capacity, public services, institutions, infrastructures and whatnots. All the while ensuring the betterment of its citizens' material condition, at least to the proper state of adequacy and welfare.
Rania, it's a pleasure to access your channel. I think you're wonderful.😊
“If you were just obedient,” this is powerful and spot on.
Yes, fantastic Guest!
The railway link between Iran and China was inaugurated this week. Also high level N. Korian Military delegation visited Iran last month.
Thanks.
Eye-opening conversation and mentally stimulating!
One of your best guests ❤
why does a big part of our government's strategy require keeping its own people heavily propagandized?
because it doesn't act in the people's interest. policy is based around maximising profits for the rich. obviously if you aren't rich you shouldn't support that, so you have to be deceived.
Koreans wake up before its too late
And conversely, Americans also need to wake up from Zionist domination.
Very good segment.
Thank you for this very educational conversation. I’m glad I got to watch the whole talk on patreon. 🙏
RANIA ❤️, LOVE YOUR WORK.
Very Good! Thank you both!

I learned so much about NK today so thank you so much for this. All I’ve ever heard about NK is what America wanted me to hear, so it’s nice to learn more and see other facets.
Interesting- thank you.
We REALLY need help combatting “Kamala is pro-Palestine” as well as affirming how campaign donations override our votes, a point that should otherwise bring liberals to class consciousness.
Liberals are already class conscious. That's the problem. Most of them are probably petty bourgeois.
It's good to hear the truth about Korea finally
Great topic and discussion.
rania and guest, thank, yaw for this shows insight! Love you both.
Interesting show. Thank you!❤
on a side note, we from china always have the idea of good vs evil, not the western kind of good/evil contries faction breakdown, and not just the "reverse definition" of these two concept, the struggle goes down much deeper than that.
mao and zhou enlai (then PM of china) helped palestine struggle a lot by sending weapon and instructors, and we still support their cause today.
...but also, though the jp imperialism have much to blame and have much to pay, i do believe we should also honour the memories of jp red army who fought zionist during cold war with their lives, who bring the war right into the heart of zionism that is telviv. hope one day this channel could cover their courage and sacrifice.
I read about the Red Army and appreciate their desire not to see their country fall to western puppetry, of which Japan is struggling to escape from even today. I agree it would be nice to see them, Chairman Mao, and PM Enlai covered!

Always such an informative authority on this issue, which just happens to be the same issue as Gaza. Western racist, capitalist imperialism.
Great to see this and learn more about Korea, its history and present. I recently listened to an excellent podcast series about the Korean War on the Blowback podcast. I learned so much I didn't know about Korea and its history and about the terrible nature of US imperialism. (I highly recommend the Blowback podcast, both the Korea series and the other series on Cuba, Iraq and Afghanistan - find it on your favourite podcast app!)
Going to watch the U.S. Out of Korea launch video now, and then your previous interview here on Dispatches. ❤
Amazing
Learnt so much from this fantastic interview.
Interestingly, NPRK not represented at Nicaragua's 45th Anniversary of Sandinista Revolution. Algeria, Belarus, Burkino Faso, China, Cuba, Honduras, Iran, Palestine, Russia, South Africa, Venezuela, Vietnam, Zimbabwe were all represented. An oversight? Fascinating how DPRK perfected tunneling (amount of bombs unleashed upon it was off the scale!) & then shared its expertise with Vietnam & Palestine. Thanks for interview.
ju-hyun is as elegant as always in their explanations
As a Chinese person from Harbin this conversation is fascinating. A lot of Russian Jewish business people fled during WW2 to China from Russia back in the day when Russia was doing programs. China saved more Jewish lives during WW2 than American which turned away many Jewish people who got sent back to Germany and died. China never really gets much credit for this because after the war ended many Jewish business people left Harbin region to go back to Russia or immigrate to Israel/United States. This is told to me by my relatives who lived in the region during those times.
AND THAT'S WHY THEY OWEN USA
Thank You North Korea for your knowledge, your sharing of tunnel building and perhaps we@pons! Awesome.
I am really not a simp but I really love “Rania’s” voice

This shit is so good, and Rania is so real.
Here is a Fun Fact about Russia: It was Russia who saved The Union during the American Civil War as they sent their Navy to San Francisco and New York when England and France were just about to enter the war on the side of the Confederates since London created the Confederates. France was already in Mexico making a spear head movement to resupply the Confederates and to open up a Pacific Theatre and to create a port in California. England already amassed 11,000 troops and growing stationed at their Northern Confederacies border now called Canada ready to open a Northern Theatre to divert Union troops away from their Southern Confederacy then to attack The Unions naval blockade. The Union would have been completely destroyed and annexed by those two great powers leaving the Confederates to exist as either a puppet state of London or to be fully brought back into the fold of the British Empire.
London was already courting (threatening/bribing) other countries to get involved like Spain while Russia was in talks with Prussia to ally with incase London was to intervene.
Seeing all of this Tsar Alexander II wrote a letter to Queen Victoria saying “If you enter in this war it will be a casus belli for all out war with the Russian Empire”. The stage was set for the 1st World War and Russia stopped it.
There is also a memorial in San Francisco for the hundreds of Russian sailors who came off their Asiatic fleet ships that died while helping the city put out a fire that threatened to lay waste to it during the War.
The Russian fleet also threatened to Shell Australian ports along with other British Pacific Colonies if Britain aided the Confederates. A confederate war ship spent a lot of time in Australian waters and was supported by the Australian public, some even signing on as crew members. This Confederate war ship laid waist to the US Pacific whaling fleet and is reported to have fired the last shot in the war. The name of the ship was called the CSS Shenandoah. Its surrender was at Liverpool England where Confederate Commander Bulloch was stationed.
Bulloch was the head spy Chief for the Confederates and main go between for London, Montreal, and Richmond. He was heavily involved in the finance of the South with British banking and supplied the south with its warships as most of them were made by the British. He was good friends with those who drafted the Very discriminatory Confederate Constitution and those that would later create the 'Clan'. He was also heavily involved in the assassinations of Lincoln and his cabinet members. He was Also the Uncle to President Theodore Roosevelt (on his mothers side of course) and Teddy greatly looked up to him and learned much from him from a very early age. Teddy called him 'Uncle Jimmy'. This is where Teddy Roosevelt got the idea for the 'Eff Bee Eye' he modeled it almost exactly from Londons 'Em Eye Five'.
Russia also helped Thailand (Kingdom of Siam) maintain its sovereignty from being completely Partitioned/Annexed from the British and French around the same time. The very word Thai (ไทย) means 'free man' in the Thai language which is partially to thank to the Russians as they might have ended up being a colony or part of another country/colony if not for their intervention.
No good deed goes unpunished.
Even if it takes a long time.
@@JPJ432- Excellent - I have to research that.
@@fernandgutez2383 We have had much help on the International Stage. For some context: For the Revolution Russia and France saved The US in a Direct manor along with Spain just not as strongly and Morocco and India saved us Indirectly then Russia saved us in the War of 1812 and The American Civil War. There was a good speech at one of the Balls the Americans gave to the Russians in San Francisco during the Civil War when they arrived to help saying that Alexander the 1st saved us in the War of 1812 and Alexander the 2nd is saving us now. They said this as Alexander I prevented Full British Invasion in the war of 1812 when Napoleon was pushed all the way back and the Russians occupied Paris, Britain wanted to put all their efforts and resources towards the Americans now that France was out of the way. While Russia occupied Paris Alexander I sent a letter to George Ill saying (sum and substance) 'you better cool it, or we will intervene ourselves'.

to expand on the japan and isreal connection..imperialist japan (and some countries in asia) have what is coined as "pillow antisemitism" where they fall for the antisemetic "jewish people are powerful and welthy" line but they find that to be cool and wanted that...which is why japan wanted to move them to Manchuria...but in todays age pillow antisemitism is typically a person whos in the business class that might own a Jewish bible for good luck and success

Alll you have to do to argue against the criticism of the NK regime is just say it's anti-imperialist lol.
Is that not a precise rebuttal to concerns over isolation?
@@Dr.cozmore Uh it doesn't even have the power to do bad foreign policy anyway. That doesn't make it free from all criticism of domestic policy. Something so-called Marxists seem to forget is that it's a radical critique of all that exists. Not just America and it's allies. If you think Marx would be pro-NK then you haven't read any Marx.
@@anopinionatedlaymanappears9052 no politically literate person is saying DPRK is perfect. It has a right to exist on its own terms and the right to do so safely
@@Dr.cozmore Dude nobody cares if any idiot said it's not perfect, it's that they literally have no criticism of it at all. It's like if I said the USA isn't perfect and called it a day. It's not fucking criticism. They're just ideologues who support the opposite of American foreign policy.
The DPRK exists as a national security state precisely because of US imperialism. The latter is a cause of the former.
This is a silly point but; the way the light hits this man's glasses, it looks like he has been eating the spice of Arrakis.
Meh, this North Korean long-term 'support for all over the world' does look quite a bit like 'every enemy of the US/West is my friend'. The Palestinian national liberation movement is against a US ally, so the DPRK supports it; if it had been against an adversary of the US like Russia or China, the DPRK wouldn't have supported it. And apart from the issue of national liberation, Hamas is a totally reactionary, theocratic, anti-socialist force and its 'revolution' is almost the diametrical opposite of a socialist revolution. If the likes of Hamas and the likes of North Korean communists were present in the same country and not too busy fighting the West, they would fight each other to the death - compare how Iran slaughtered its communists en masse (and Hamas wouldn't normally even let a woman appear without a hijab as Rania does), or how Islamists were dealt with in communist states. That said, DPRK isn't all that big on socialism any more either, it's mostly parochial nationalism and militarist totalitarianism for militarist totalitarianism's sake, but that is still very different from the Islamist agenda.
I think your discussions on the negative legacies of imperial/colonial encroachment in sovereign nations is very helpful and long overdue. However, leaving out entirely in these discussions, any mention of the imperialistic and aggressive moves by Russia, China, North Korea, Iran, the Saudis, UAE, etc..., makes the discussion totally one sided and far less relevant than it should be. I have noticed this type of imbalance in a lot of the coverage on this channel. You folks can and should do better. There are few enough legitimate progressive voices in the ether; the least you can do is present a balanced take on events.
