I believe this is one drawback of taking it too long to make a movie... Remember this movie was written right after YJHD... And that phase was good where mediocre love stories would be loved but now audiences have evolved drastically especially during the lockdown and the ott boom... But if KGF2 being absolutely mediocre script can bring masses so can this one...

    • @ngultrum1
      @ngultrum1 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      >KGF 2
      >Mediocre
Lol, lmao even. That's almost objectively false. That said, you're right about the love story part. If the film was released around 2015-16, it might've been a hit. The genre of love stories was still somewhat alive at that time.

  • @quickmix-streammusic7019

They were being too ambitious with the movie. They should've been more gradual with it and introduced each astra in standalone movies then bring them all together for Brahmastra conflict at the end of it. Like marvel introduced individual heroes before bringing them together in avengers. That would also give the love story more breathing space. You'd get to see them go through conflicts in their relationship as they walk this path hand in hand. That would make me root more for the characters and it would also allow a more elaborate and intricate world building.

      They did not wanted that.
They just wanted alia and ranbir to be everything.
They killed such great characters. And how stupidly.
Koi itna takatwar h. Par 1 truck nhi dhakel pa rha. Aur fir dhakelta hua. Khud gir jata h apne ap.
Like is this how a superhero should die??
They have no concentration on emotion or character development or story at all.
They just have wrote a story. Nd rushing to make it a movie.
K ye ye ye krna h. Uska impact h ya nhi wo nhi dekh rhe.
Koi marta h to bhi apne ko bilkul sad feel nhi hota.
Even if a child dies. We are like. Oh okay.
They do not have the vision for such movie.
It was a love story disguised as a superhero movie

What I feel is... They haven't shown everything clear... And that's intentional... Things look mysterious if u carefully observe... In the next parts, I hope we definitely can get the past story and the things about the origins of the Astras. I feel that's what the director has in mind

    • @mahimak
      @mahimak ปีที่แล้ว +1

Totally agree. The love story is so rushed. You dont feel anything for the lead characters and you dont understand what are the qualities that make them fall in love with each other. The story doesnt tell you anything about Alia Bhatt except that she’s rich. There is no build up.

    It is just Harry Potter.
    Shiva is orphan like Harry
Shiva have powers but not aware of like Harry
Shiva learn more about powers in ashram like Harry
Shiva mother's and Alia's love save them like Harry mother's
Shiva got some sensation as he is connected with dev as Harry also connected with voldemort.
    Ashram is like Hogwarts
    Guru ji is like dumbeldore
Astras are like there wands and charms.
This movie is highly highly inspired from Harry Potter.

The creators of this move tried to write a check that its screenplay can't cash. And for good reason....the concept was stolen from Kumar Aditya's book Brahmastra. Not only did they fail to give credit to the author, but they also butchered an amazing fantasy universe he created. I recommend people read this book for the real storytelling experience.

@@ignashi7plays401 The movie is not in the making since 2012, it was announced in 2018 and filming started the same year. Ayan Mukerji claims to have begun writing it in 2012 and says that he pitched it in 2014. Though there is no news article/press release that you can find about the movie that dates back to 2014 or 2012.
Whereas the author wrote this project in 2010 and submitted his manuscript for publishing in 2012 but the project was shelved and the publishing house shut down due to unknown reasons. One can't say if someone at the publishing house sold the manuscript, if it was the only shelved manuscript that got leaked or if there were other authors who have been through the same. But the bottom line is that it's deeply unethical to claim someone else's work as your own. In fact, Mukerji's preview videos about how he got inspired to write also seem to be a recycled version of the book's cover launch post on the author's IG page (date: June 3, 2019). You can check it out.

    1. It's not a movie, it's just a experience.
    2. Story has nothing to do Brahmastra or Mythology just a misleading sci fi drama with Good vfx and goosebumps bgm.
    3. It's a Dharma Productions and Ayan Mukherjee creation so Romantic angle should be there. Lol.
Basically, Love story in BRAHMASTRA is as annoying as Lovestoriyaa in Kesariya song.
    4. Worst part is Poorly written dialogues and the term they used - Raftaar, Jor and Junoon. Like seriously.
    5. Not sure about 2nd and 3rd part. But Use of superstars like Shahrukh and Nagarjuna is simply to attract their audience.
    6. Alia had only 2 jobs in this movie -
    A. To Look gorgeous
    B. To continuously scream - Shivaaaaaaaaaaaa
Overall, it's only a theatrical experience and can be potential disaster when releases on OTT.
SS Rajamauli sir had set a benchmark in storytelling it's really tough to match the same.

It was such a beautiful and different storyline of astras, but eventually concluded that love is stronger than Brahmastra itself with pathetic dialogues. Then what exactly was the point of making it! 😕
I actually felt disappointed as someone who was rooting for its success!
PS: Mouni Roy stands out the most! Lead pair chemistry was seriously lacking and cringy, it was like we are for ed to appreciate them since they are a real life couple! Ranbir is too chocolaty to be a hero, somehow felt the casting would have been a hero! And being an Alia fan, I was actually disappointed.

Not many people know that 3 assassins (Junoon, Zor & Raftaar) in Brahmastra have been copied from the 1980 movie Superman 2. The villains in Superman 2 were General Zod (not Zor), Ursa and Non who come to planet earth looking for kryptonite in the same way Junoon, Zor and Raftaar come looking for agnivastra. In the same film Superman is willing to give up all of his superpowers for the sake of true love. Similar theme has been used in Brahmastra. Also, the shape of the Brahmastra has been taken from the Google chrome logo. The whole concept of Brahmastra and the secret society (Brahmansh) is that of today's secret society Illuminati. Brahmastra also has shades of the cartoon Captain Planet

The basic thing that makes a good movie is its story and Brahmastra clearly couldn't pull it off. Special effects is a x factor that can attract you but you need a good story. Moreover, its a fictional story at best, no way related to any Hindu scriptures. The creators have given false and wrong information about the astras upon which the whole movie or the 'astraverse' is based. So yeah will be waiting for its OTT release.

If you study the history and the journey of Kohinoor, you will learn that this was from pre-Independent India and has exchanged many hands before the British smuggled it to UK. This means if they ever decide to return it, both the present day Pakistan and Afghanistan can stake claim to it.

To be honest, there was no need for Aliya's character right in the first saga. I felt a lil let down in Ayan's script. He really could have focused more on Astraverse and made sure the entire nation witnesses the unfathomable arsenal of different weapons and their prowess that are bestowed by our mythology.

Ra-One VFX were best till now
(Personally feel, they were better than bramhasrtra. Unnecessary cosmic energy emission, grandure or whatever were not added. Smart VFX were used like Train scene, Azad Maidan fight scene and just a couple of others. Love Story also wasn't as boring as Brahmastra. Ra One songs- Too good). Storyline was also realistic- Perfect blend of augmented reality, artificial intelligence and 3D printing. Virtual villains with AI can come into reality using 3D printing programme. Too much mythology and love Story ruined Bramahstra, was expecting some realistic stuff. Turned out to be Another Percy Jackson style movie.

Unpopular opinion: Alia's actual role might be revealed in second or later movies. She isn't as dumb as one things. There were minor easter eggs left in the movie to catch, I really hoped you would find it, because you have good eye for things. She might be appointed by guruji/other team for getting the astra pieces together. These were the hints
    1) Alia's silver/steel type churi/kara in right hand she wears throughout. From wearing it with little black dress for a party or to kesariya or even fight sequences. Only times she never wore is when Shiva suprised her st the pandal and she didn't know he was coming. It's her astra. 24×7 she wore it.
    2) Her touch with her astra power can amplify/increase power/emotion. All the brief scenes that she caught his hand and Ranbir's power increased and Amitabh just pretended it like Alia is your switch, she wasn't just switch, she was using her powers. In the last scene when Ranbir was unable to control the brahmastra Alia touched his chest and the kara/churi glowed for a while as if an astra emitting power so Ranbir's power would amplify.
    3) Alia acting like a nibbi but asking all the right questions that could lead to finding the third piece. Eg: Making Shiva promise not to keep any secrets. Asking about his past, his mother. To know any secrets of the last piece of astra. Even in the dream sequence where Shiva sees Alia being attacked, initially if you noticed she was rummaging through bags and the house in search of something connected to Ranbir's mother

Cast: Amitabh Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Nagarjuna and Mouni Roy
    Director: Ayan Mukherji
    Review-
Ahh! My 8-year wait has finally come to an end. I frequently got asked what draws me to a film like Brahmastra in the face of so much negativity and hatred surrounding 'Bollywood,' to be precise. My consistent response over the years has been the concept on which the film is based.
I remember reading books and hearing mythical stories that mentioned Astras, their use in various wars, and their destructive nature. Brahmastra was one of them!
To add to my Brahmastra obsession, two years back I changed my Instagram handle name to Brahmmastra with an extra 'M'. My obsession was genuine, and it showed in my excitement for the film.
Going ahead, keeping it short I loved the film. Having said that the film comes with numerous flaws but for time being I would ignore them for the sheer efforts makers have taken to glorify our rich histroy backed by culture and larger-than-life characters and their powers. Ayan Mukherjee was well aware of what he was getting into.
Coming to the department on which the film is heavily reliant- the visual effects! I have to say... Excellent work. I want this film to succeed solely so that the audience can witness such visual effects in the near future, which will only improve. The vibrant and constrast colour scheme used to represent the Astras and the power they emit impresses me. Nowhere did I feel the visual effects were overdone, nor did I feel the effects were compromised. 10 on 10!
The love element in the film was the aspect I was most afraid of and worried about. I was taken aback when I saw the film's protagonist pick a girl, fall in love with her, and then... They were madly in love. But don't forget... The main characters in the film are personifications of Shiva and Parvati, and their immediate connection became clear as the film progressed. The love element has been used and placed strategically.
The dialogue and, in some places, the dubbing were the one thing that made watching the movie less enjoyable. It gave the impression that I was watching a daily soap with cringe-inducing one-liners and another one written to counter them. The "dialoguebaazi" in this instance is inappropriate and serves no purpose.
Ranbir Kapoor, A real find of an actor. I don't care if his films do poorly at the box office; that man gives his all every time he appears on screen. The first hour of the film felt like an extended version of Bunny from Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. It was eventually resolved, but it was strange.
Alia Bhatt looked good in her role. She should be explored further, and I believe she is as important as Ranbir.
Mouni Roy delivers a brilliant performance and carries the burden of being the antagonist excellently.
Amitabh Bachchan is essential. Cameos are amazing.
Overall, the film is energising. The audience got a breath of fresh air. Something new for the viewers' eyes. A film like Brahmastra is rare, and few filmmakers would risk their money and time on such a project!
Finally, I give this film 3.5 out of 5 stars!!
