This is coming from someone who barely watches Bollywood movies but watches yogi baba religiously. Alia Bhatt’s role would’ve been so much more better if she were someone who was researching the astras. That way her following Ranbir would’ve made so much more sense. And they could’ve fallen in love gradually. She could’ve also been used as the exposition part in the movie.
2011 script I guess , in her past female character always start and end with being lover of Hero . Yeah ,you are right I wish they change stuffs about her character it would make her and Their relationship more interesting

They could've easily explained the Brahmastra shutting off by saying Dev woke it up and had the powers to make it sleep and since Shiva has basically blood and dna of Dev so Brahmastra mistook Shiva as Dev and turned off upon his command.

होना चाहिए था ज्यादा सेंस बनता।
I think they wanted Shiva to be the guy who fears loosing his loved ones (like his mother in fire) and so he doesn't want to get into all Brahmastra mess or experiment with his powers. Saying this because his power is technically supposed to be "power of love" that got activated again when he met Isha and fell in love with her. He seemed to be trying to live like a normal dude before meeting her.
On the other hand, Isha seems to be someone who hates secrets and likes adventure and going out (maybe a backstory should've explained why she kept sticking to Shiva or maybe about her family, education, passion or what she does for a living). I believe writer wanted to make her the kind of love interest that pushes Shiva out of his fear and change his life like a true life partner does.
Idk how actual plot went south. There were ideas, good ones but they focused too much on Astraworld worldbuilding, Graphics and external plot that they forgot why the story matters i.e. characters.
So unfortunate it will be now remembered more like "Shiva, ShIvA, SHIVAAAA" and "uske sath chaati par chad kar jayegi kya?" 😂

Story was there, ideas were great too but it feels like all these things just goes in Directors mind.
It feels like they just made movie for themselves.
If Alia turns out to be an enemy in the end, then the story might get better
alia does seem suspicious like shiva started getting those visions whenever alia was with him? she was also really interested in this whole thing.
I also had this belief, when I watched the movie. Either her characters is very suspicious, or the writer the made a stupid character.
I also assumed she would be a secret villain. At least there would be some point of her character. Like that one scene where she tries to take the Astra from one of the characters made me think that she was gonna steal it or smth.
The writers are not that smart..chill

4. the memory/light of love( HP was more impactful bc of the son-mother relationship instead of a two day girlfriend! in Bhramhastra)
5. Harry's memory for the Patronus charm aka Shiva's button😂
6. Harry/ Shiva the chosen one
7. the backstory that Shiva's parents were the members of this society...The order of the Pheonix
These are just a few examples, now I feel it's just a retelling of HP. Of course, anybody not familiar with HP will appreciate it but I can't. There are many more parallels between the two.
