Those are pronghorn antelope. We had one butting the side of our rig at Lake DeSmet in Wyoming. He gave up and went "spring sproing sproing" across the parking lot and up the hill. 😂😂🇺🇸
The vastness of the plains area is something. After living in Maine for 20 plus years with soo much forested land , when you go back to visit there I find it too stark and overwhelming because of the openness. Rapid City where I went to college! Loved in Sheridan Wyoming. Beautiful area!
We stayed at Oliver Reservoir for a couple nights in mid August of 2016. It was windy and there were not many people there at that time either. We liked it. Thanks for the video Brian!
Many years ago I was driving a communications uplink truck across South Dakota. We had the accelerator pedal to the floor and all we were able to manage was 45mph because of the headwinds. Normally we would top out between 80 and 90. The winds there can be strong and unrelenting!

Brian's slow track to the Big Q, we are also headed south but doing it on our sailboat in the Bahama Islands, our trip started from West Palm Beach, Florida where we entered the Gulf Stream and sailed to West End Bahamas where you have to check in with Customs, our goal is to explore a lot of the least visited Islands and stay away from the tourist traps and eventually end our adventure in the Turk's & Caicos Islands around mid June of 2022 right before hurricane season and then sail back to our home base in Key Largo, Florida. Our new boat is a 2020 Corsair 880 Sport Trimaran, it's performed flawlessly, and with it's incredible speeds in very light wind it makes sailing to each Island a pure joy...

The Sinclair you passed at 06:34 sells incredible meat snacks, not just beef & venison, but exotic stuff too! BTW, Oliver Reservoir has some great fishing too! I live about 40 miles to the North. There's even a road that goes below the dam where you can hang out too!
