You must not be able to get a real job doing body work. So many work from home. You just destroyed a real classic car. Your making me so sick at what you just did I cant watch anymore
Did you see how bad this piece of shit was before he started working on it? That was absolutely fantastic your are the best I have ever seen and I have been around some of the best in 40 years of rubbing shoulders with body workers. God bless
I have been working with cars and bikes for over 60 years, and damn few of these blogs impress me. You, son, are one skilled body man with skills that span the requirements to be called a true expert in your craft. If that was truly your first chop, you certainly have spacial insight that few possess. I only subscribe to three channels I believe are worthy to watch, and yours is one of them. Take some advice from an old man, figure out a way to make your skills fund a comfortable lifestyle, never do gratis work, and always double your estimates for your costs. I believe you will eventually be widely recognized for your work. By the way, I love your ease of TIG welding sheet metal. I am trying to attain some level of proficiency with TIG'ing sheet metal as we speak. Drives me nuts. I will part ways with one last piece of earthly advice: If it fucks, flies, floats, or feeds, rent it, don't buy it!
Hi Jim, thanks for the great comment and words of wisdom! What you said about doubling estimates is very true, although I'm happy to remain largely unknown and continue flying under the radar!
You absolutely nailed that chop! The proportions are great, and your method maintained so much of the original top shape that it looks like a factory built car. I've subscribed and will be following your work. You are a true craftsman! After seeing what the car looked like when you got it, I am blown away by your skills and tenacity! Not many people would even attempt to salvage what you started with!
Nice job. I did a frame off resto on my Chevy it's been in the family since 1962. The only thing I regret is not chopping the roof. I guess it's never too late to chop it. You've got great skills. You sir, are a master craftsman.
I watch quite a few more popular channels but yours has quietly become my favorite due to the focus on the work without half a dozen onlookers, dry humor and cats, of course. Starting your 18' of welding at 9:00PM on a Sunday night says it all.
I have seen a lot of chops and this is an outstanding job. Not to short and you can still get in it and drive it. In my opinion, you do some of the finest metal work I have seen
I've watched a ton of videos and people chopping tops, no one ever had the balls or knowledge to lead fill like you. You are a true artist. Well done on your chop.
Well there is a double edged sword on this build I love me a factory classic but the chopped lead sleds are also great this chop is one of the best and still shows a respect to classic and hot rodders
Looks fantastic great job i noticed chad said he was first to chop a 5 window coupe with out cutting roof but i see he must watched your video cause he did very similar its amazing that u tube pops up these old videos when someone puts one up good craftsmanship
Excellent job Bud!! Really enjoy watching your work, I've been a Bodyman for over 50 years!! Its nice to see something done right!! Congrats on the 250 Subs, Welcome to the Club!!☺
I myself do many trades in construction. And I'll say this, when you're in the grove, go for it. But when you're exhausted it's usually best to walk away. Great job Kyle!
This is an extremely well executed chop! The proportions are perfect, way better than the original look! Very impressed to see the lead work too. Just subscribed the other day. I'll be watching for more of your impressive work.
So it's the old master body man routine eh? Damn fine work. Thanks for helping to take the mystery out of this sort of work for us. Thanks for not adding music to the vid.
Hi found your Chanel a few days ago and can't stop watching. Not only do you have great metalwork and welding ability you also have a great eye for design as well . congratulations on a job well done.
Nice, I chopped my 33 Chev 5 window 3-1/2 on the A pillar, and 3-1/4 on the rear. Windows came out straight. Filled the roof with piece of 55 Chev car roof. Same crown of front of car.😊
@@CarterAutoRestyling I'm a Luthier, and stringed instrument repairman.. I completely understand the entire process, in doing the work you do. I've also dabbled in body work. I decided to stick with guitars and basses! Those mid thirties cars- especially five windows, look killer with that exact amount of chop. And a fenderless one with a 392 hemi and zoomies, is perhaps the most bitchin' ride there is. And, unlike some other You Tube fabricators, you are using lead. That's awesome. Glad to see you with a respirator when you are doing so. I'll be watching your videos, and thanks for filming these! Cheers from Reno, Nevada.
You convinced me to subscribe the instant you threw away the bondo and started leading. That there is one very professionally chopped 33. Very impressive craftsmanship! Exodus 31:1-5 certainly comes to mind watching you at work. It is certainly my pleasure to watch. Thank you for posting.
Excellent Job, I did a 34 chevy but removed all the wood & replaced with metal, started with same condition body you have . One piece at a time , Loved the led work. More ways to cut them than traditional , Awesome skill !!
Yeah replacing all the wood with metal is one of the next things on the list for this car. Thanks for the comment I always enjoy hearing from other early Chevy enthusiasts!
I subscribed from Scott at Coldwarmotors suggesting it’s a good thing. It’s a tasteful chop, fixing a wreck gives you more of a open book. But now it’s definitely not a wreck so I’m looking forward to see how you finish it.
You rolled outta that jalopy like you were homeless looking for a meal and then commenced to do some really nice body work ........... You rocked it NICE WORK!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Like your style - subbed
I am impressed. Excellent job on chopping this car and keeping the proportions just right. That back window was well executed. I signed up to get notifications to see more of that!
That chop is world class 100%!! Cold War motors is keeping good company I see. Scott does the same thing with rotten field cars. That car was a HEAP when it came in and look at it now!! BRAVO!! I never heard of you until Scott mentioned you. What a treat to see the stuff you do sir. You're at 10 000 subs now I see. So much for the hundred you mentioned in the video 8 months ago. 😆🤣😂 Oh!! I Love the use of lead!! I was a welder for a couple decades and I'd love a bit if a tutorial next time you smear some of that crap around. Cheers sir!!
Why do all the small channels do better quality work than the big ones? What gives? Who’s subscribing to these hacks? Great work brother! I need to get me some leading tools!
Thanks! I can understand why no one wants to watch my videos, this is just something I tried for fun so it's not exactly high class entertainment haha. What I don't understand is why your channel doesn't have 100k+ subscribers, you do outstanding work and your videos are actually entertaining and helpful. I think part of the problem is that TH-cam has become the very thing it was intended to replace (television). It's all about quantity over quality, so the algorithm promotes content that it thinks will have the widest appeal, which is usually videos about doing things the cheap, fast and easy way.
All these complements are deserved and earned. My experience with restorers is they only want the best cars and cleanest parts. They don't want rusty mangled wrecks. When rodders piece them together they are with 3 times their resto, so I guess we can understand how they must feel.
It came out really well. Very impressive. I especially like the door filler with the welding rods and the fact that you showed the lead being worked. Great stuff. Mart in England.
I will saw I have never seen a roof chopped like that. I just randomly found this video, You have a good eye to pick up the details to make this work. Nice job!

Hope you hit "500" subscribers soon, since that coat will not be warm enough for the Saskatewan winters! Good tutorial on how to slice and dice that roof! I am so wanting to buy a welder and weld something! Thanks Kyle!
I enjoy watching this one over and over again, if I ever find one of those coupes, you'll be getting a new message from me, lol, what a fantastic looking job you've done on that one.
The good thing about not knowing what you are doing is you go ahead and attempt it anyway. Sometimes it works out and sometimes it doesn't but either way you're far better off having tried and learned than listening to someone telling you not to even bother. If someone can't learn from their mistakes they certainly won't learn from their successes.
Love your work, pleasure to see a true craftsman carry out such high quality work. Thankyou for taking the time to make this video and share it with us all.

Scott is the genius of restoration. If he recommends a channel , he has quite a bit of clout with the you tube audience. ColdWarmotors motors has a lot of Trailer Park qualities. I don’t suspect that you should try to bring that in to your mix. Someone should send you a welders smock made of cowhide leather ..that is really what you need before going up in flames. Love to see the roof filled in and that would be cool. Cheers Alberta Dave 🇨🇦😊
i got a 33 five window Chevy Coupe with a 2 1/2 inch chop in front . 2 inch in the rear it looks great . i also made my Doors Sucide it looks and works great

Lead filling body work is actually very rare. It's old school. Your workmanship is excellent and yr full welding is perfect. Great job.
Thank you! Yeah these days lead is very expensive so there's not many people doing it anymore.

I bet you took a few classes in that subject, back in the day. Thanks for your humor. It's obvious with your shirt, you are going from Rags-to-Riches. Cheers.
Thanks for the kind words! Pretty sure I almost failed high school art class, my clay sculpture of a bird looked more like an ash tray.
Wow what a nice job. And Lead too!!
That's some good looking body work there, Carter! Dan S. from Michigan & Texas
Thanks!
2 inch in the rear it looks great . i also made my Doors Sucide it looks and works great
That's an everyone's dream car. I wish I had one. Maybe someday....
Thanks for watching! I hope you're able to find one someday!
Good job...
You have spent a lot of time sorting out the cuts to make the whole job easier and look right.
Thank you! I probably spent more time thinking about it than cutting and welding, which saved a lot of unnecessary work.
Very nice quallity work. Keep it up my friend.
Thanks!
Damn , you are good ! Thanks for another , Brother !
Love your metal work abilities, Im going to start following you.
