What I liked about the "cyclists video" is that they actually _were_ making a public safety video, just doing it in a humorous way. The whole show was raising awareness about the actual issues they were talking about, just in a humorous way so people wouldn't see it as another boring public safety video. They managed to cover the problem with cyclists ignoring laws, with people cutting cyclists off and not paying attention to them, the need for courtesy on the road, everything that was in their brief, all while making a funny video about making a funny video. I have noticed this in several of their "making a public safety video" films, I think they were actually working with the BBC to raise public awareness in a creative and humorous way.

Well, that last bit is true. Although those electric scooter thingies have taken the bike's place as the number one hate object.
One day I was in a meeting with some older women, with them talking about electric scooters being a nuisance. Sure enough, the very next week walking to another meeting with them, some barely pubescent teen on an electric scooter blows past me from behind at full speed with a few milimeters margin.
It's not the vehicle's fault, of course, it's parents not teaching their kids how to handle them. Inevitably gonna get some of those kids killed when they crash into a pedestrian and get launched into oncoming traffic.
Dude the other week i saw a guy riding a razor scooter *a push one, not even electric* down the side of a 4 lane road that goes past an airport
This road also has quite a large hill so this man struggled his way pushing a scooter up hill

Let's face it; no matter how civil some of them can be, there's always a chance that cyclists and bikers go high into the pest list of every motorist in the world.
In Malaysia there are also militant bikers (the worst kind are those fuckers who abuse the protection motorcycles get and are absolute bullies.)
On modern roads in the UK, I find entitled car drivers (probably 80% of them) to be some of the rudest motorists on the road, patience and politeness seem to have totally disappeared now (and this is from someone who drives a car to work every day, but in no rush)
I'm both a cyclist and a driver and I think that drivers are a bigger pest than than cyclists.

I ride a bike I don’t drive yet I watched top gear religiously when Clarkson Hammond and May presented it, top class entertainment and very funny and not pc what more could you want in a program .

Columns of 40+ bikes rumbling past my house. So loud that it shakes my window panes.
Sometimes that horrible growling will go on for over an hour uninterrupted. While I've only had a couple of hours sleep.
I absolutely despise Bikes. And no it's not because I'm jealous or any other stupid reason.
It's because they are loud and obnoxious and the reason I can't sleep for 3 months of the year.

This is so much Brazil nowadays.
People bought bikes during the pandemic and started to ride in group, and they don't respect any road law whatsoever, just a bunch of stupid people thinking that the road belongs exclusive to them.
I live in Montreal's suburbs and when I make occasional trips through downtown with mom, sometimes reckless bikers zip through cars standing in traffic jams giving absolutely no crap about road signs

I haven't experienced that, but I know the difference in traffic culture is massive depending on the country.
In Sweden, for one, we generally have enough bike lanes for cars and bikes not to cross paths much. Here, mopeds and EPA tractors hold the honor of what you described. And the latter is so, so much worse.

The number one reason to not cycle or drive a motorcycle: you can personally follow all the rules of the road but some idiot can run into you with their car or truck and the person that gets hurt is the one who was following the rules.

The last one is so true with two additions:
-They don't understand that the white zebra crossing means they DON'T have the right of way if they're on their bike
-Most of them ignore/don't know that traffic signs apply to them as well (or just don't know what they mean in general)
As someone who bicycled from 1986-2014 (a serious accident ended that) I was pretty much the only one on the road, for about 15 years, so I learned very quickly to obey ALL the laws that pertain to both cars and bicycles and not to leave a bad taste in motorists mouths.
It infuriates me when bicyclists: don’t obey traffic SIGNS, crosswalks (especially when pedestrians are present) four way stop signs, and the ones who were telling me to get off the road and onto the sidewalk are now the ones with this entitlement mentality that they own the road.
Say what you will about Armstrong, but he once said, “Bicyclists borrow the road, cars(motorists) own tue road.”

This is all great sport. I love automobiles, I have been repairing them for almost 40 years. Exotic machines, and the common.
I have worked on, and driven, some extremely rare ones. Some absurdly expensive. In the millions, actually.
But, we all have our passions. For years, I rode a bicycle 22,000 km per year, in all weather conditions, for sport and to get to work, yes, repairing cars.
I have several hundred thousand miles on motorcycles. It's very different, riding is a completely different world from taking out the car. I have ridden a motorcycle through thunderstorms, even when the cars had given up and pulled over.
I must qualify this, cycling was critical in the years I was a firefighter. I needed to keep at the top of my game, as it was not just my own life that depended upon it.
Truth, this humor is brilliant. But rubber pants? No, man, leather.

im a biker i loved this i do own a car too when its pissing of rain i will use the car when its a nice sunny day i will ride my motorbike. only other bikers will know what im talking about but you feel more free with a bike you become the bike the slightest movement just turns the bike the gear change you just feel the bike it almost feeling like your flying your aware of every single moment of your surroundings become enhanced you feel alive. in a car i can literally drive 50 miles and not remember a thing about that drive and only become aware when im on a round about on at a junction its a hole different experience you just feel more in control on a motorbike they more dangerous as richard hammond himself said but thats down to user error not the bike i grew up with bikers my dad was a biker i knew how to strip and ride a bike before i was the age of 14. my parents owned private land i knew how to drive a car by the time i was 15 its impossible for me to even stall a car and a bike when i was teaching my nephew i tried to stall it to prove a point but my body automatically kept correcting it without even thinking about it. cyclist on the other hand i despise them ive had my wing mirrors smashed up it was not a damn thing i could do about it they have no insurance pay no road tax and legally you cant detain them.

I think the threesome should drive steam traction engine , lorry and road roller into London , maybe even a parade of steam powered vehicles , right past Westminster - just because they can , and since most such vehicles are 100+ years old they are all exempt from Boris hated ULEZ . Also do a feature on 40+ year old ULEZ exempt cars , like RR Shadow , Mercedes 6.3 or Jensen Interceptor

Conversely every vehicle that uses public roads (from unicycles to ebikes to eighteen wheelers) is subject to vehicle excise duty which is based on their emissions. Ergo, pedal powered vehicles pay £0.00 VED while old diesel tractors* pay through the nose.
*qualifier: vehicles made before 1 January 1982 are classed as zero emission for some reason, you could be blowing white smoke and still pass your MOT yet pay 0 VED.
Steam tractors are really cool though so they get a pass

Laws I would put in place:
1. If there is a cycle lane present (either marked on the road or built into the pavement), a cyclist MUST use it.
2. Single file only.
3. No large boxes at traffic lights, only continue the cycle lane to the lights, with a small cross section for those wanting to turn right.
Laws I would put in place: no cars inside city borders, smaller trucks and cargo vans get a single lane that's got railings and another one for buses.
