I think the amount of work and experience to get a car into the event will surprise them, if Paul just helps and doesn't do a car, their chances of competing against each other goes way up.

Paul, I get more enjoyment watching my grandson succeed than I do competing with him. I know what I can do. I want to watch him to see what he can do. So, I say watch your boys, let them compete with each other.

It would be great if you build one but maybe this one time you just set back and help the boys . Just help a little you have been a great inspiration for them. Just my opinion. I love whatever you all do. Love the family working and having fun together.

Watching someone else use Paul's truck really drives home just how good it is. That Ford wasn't stock, a beast by most guys standards and it was fighting for it's life out there, meanwhile Hunter was thinkin about what to have for lunch. I'm sure Sherm is lookin down and proud of you Paul.
Love your videos and the way you support your family. My opinion is give them boys all the support and help you can. Then sit back and enjoy the show.
Every time I watch this family, it makes me wish I was raised like they were (the boys)....they had a Dad that taught them worth while skills to take thru life and pay off .....

I think, Paul, time devote full support for the derby car build and sit back and enjoy.
Here is a note how to ride a tube behind the boat. Sitting on top riding around you have no control of tube. Putting your knees into the tube and pulling back to pop a wheely gives you full control and less bouncy to stay on. Give it a try, it works.
Best way to learn, is to do it for yourself. Great to see the boys workin it out. Helps to have a virtually unlimited supply of scrap to work with and a cool shop to do it in. 👍
Yup I agree, you've had your turn, now it is the boys turn. Advice and occasional help will be appreciated but it is time to enjoy watching them. You still have time for a little competition in the future. But let them start with each other.😊
Hunter did great job on the recovery video he and his brother did it without all they dramatic you see in many rescue videos much easier to watch.

Paul, it's time to for you to help and support your boys. It's something they will always treasure. If you build a car, you will overshadow them. You have good independent and capable sons there, help them where they need it, encourage where you can and support them as needed but let them do their thing.

I think that you should help them out if they have questions ⁉️. Be the supportive Dad and watch them have fun. You do so much with and for your kids and they appreciate it. Sit in the stands or on the sidelines and let them have their brotherly competition.

One thing a kid will remember for the rest of their life is a day out fishing with dad. The Derby builds are coming along. I think Dad should talk to the boys on a Derby plan to take out all the other cars first before the showdown.
Build it! More joy comes by doing something with your children than sitting back and watching, do it while you still can, there will come a day when all you’ll be able to do is watch.
This is awesome to see! Coming from someone that started out derbying in trucks because of the EZDUZIT channel. 5 years later derbying has been a huge part of our family. Im looking forward to more derby content 🤟

Busy day in the shop on derby cars and a recovery with Hunter and his brother. And Paul goes fishing with Gradon and a friend. A future fish fry coming up!
Great job to each of these young fellas, pretty amazing what they can accomplish - setting them up for a life filled with success based off of the values and hard work they have learned!
On the derby… when my boys were young we drag raced. When they were in their late teens I had an injury and financial issues that made it so I couldn’t afford to race. And I’m really grateful it worked out that way. I got to enjoy the last few years before they moved out without so much separating us. I LOVED being a crew Cheif and watching them race. My wife also raced… so it was a lot of work when we all did it, and that’s part of what led to my injury to begin with.
Anyway… I hope y’all enjoy it either way.
I agree with all who think Paul should mentor and advise both young men. And speaking of Paul's mentoring...was just thinking the other day that Hunter has come a long way fast, and here he is doing a recovery w/o the usual crew... love it!

you gotta run once with your boys! My Dad and me did an it's a fond memory of him an me building then runnin in a derby it was sooo much fun bangin into him an vice versa. We both took 3rd in our heats , good times man!
