I just discovered your site recently and I must say your instruction is TERRIFIC -- so clear, organized, understandable, and easy to implement. THANK YOU, Rob!
I’ve been working on “getting left” a lot over the past few days. Left shoulder and left hip lined up lol over my left knee. COMPLETE GAME CHANGER. Far better contact, swinging right, amazing compression, and line this video says, not swinging as hard but I promise club head speed is way higher. Amazing. 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
Great stuff Rob. I'm working hard on this stuff. Happy to see more uses for the I-Range. Just got mine and I love it. Being able to do the head against the wall drill while holding a club has already made it worth the price.
Yet another informative and well presented instructional video. Keep up the good work. I have used some of the techniques you've previously described and they work. I've binned all previous golf instruction channels as they just confuse.
Really great information This is just what I needed to see that's how I can keep the tilt in my swing instead of over turning the shoulders which I then hit it fat thank’s for your time 👍
Hi Rob, excellent content in this video! The extension component in both directions is a major one. An area of struggle for me is blending the release from extension to flexion and the SPINE TILT in the downswing. I find that when those two movements are in proper sync there is a HUGE difference in my ball contact. I am prone to only turning and flexing from the top with my shoulders without tilting as I start the club downward...any suggestions on drills to improve the sequencing on that? Thank you again for your great videos on the Stack and Tilt system.
Powerful, effortless, is what I am looking for. More dynamic movement throughout the swing. Training station thought or training environment important. Looking for club head swing.
Holy smokes ! I went and hit 3 balls after watching this and all I can say is I hope the feeling I just had on those 3 balls Carrys over when I get on golf course later today !!!
I fell on this suggestion by accident… And your lesson reinforced my need for this… Where do you teach?… Do you have students fly in where you are to take lessons?
You need the appropriate amount of side bend (tilt). The HEAD ON THE WALL drill covers this in detail - th-cam.com/video/NL0qmhPWmao/w-d-xo.htmlsi=E00fzJPrmMYnR6B3
I will be watching no more of your videos! You have sorted out my backswing…and actually once in the perfect position at the top the rest of the swing just seemed to happen. I limped home with a 105 in our last medal comp at Looe…today an 88! I must have watched 1000 TH-cam videos most of which just confused me with too many swing thoughts. When I next lose my swing I will simply re-watch this video. Cheers Rob.
Rob I have the HackMotion and I am having a hard time doing the top of the swing drill. At the top of swing my hands gets quite a bit of extensions. Is there a drill to stop extension?
Strangely, I extend w/o sway on backswing, yet weight shift, impact, then fail to extend, roll shoulders to left, & look out left! PS: a good trail leg transition does build my carry distance(74 yo)!
Question Rob: so if we start at flexi on to extension(back swing) , then flextion (contact/compression) and then extension ( follow through) What would be the proper way to transition back to flexion from the backswing? In other words, how would you describe the sequence from backswing to follow through?
Such a great explanation Rob. Am I correct that once you’ve achieved extension on the backswing the hip slide gets you back to flexion and then leads towards extension on the forward swing?
Not quite. If you ONLY did the hip slide piece, you would not be able to maintain your inclination to the ground (you'd early extend, basically). So there is flexion happening in the early downswing at the same time as the lateral hip sway. I cover this in the CRUSH THE CAN video here - th-cam.com/video/V6LGbj47JJM/w-d-xo.htmlsi=Vyi_Ql2hGdiWxgD4
Yes, somewhat. I think this video will help explain how the right leg should move in the downswing to promote the correct pelvis motion... th-cam.com/video/pPgLY5rYSrA/w-d-xo.htmlsi=tdz2Oi8IPdZE55Dq
Does this fix any other issues? Like would fixing this also promote better take away and swing path? I feel like after watching this - this could be the reason I hit a huge slice sometimes or it goes straight but only 225.
I have watched many golf how-to videos and have come to realize that there are too many of them with too many different ways to swing the cirrect way. There are only two instructors I follow now and they are Tom Saguto and this man Rob Cheney. If you understand the concepts Rob is explaining but are still struggling with any part of it, go to a PGA instructor to help tie everything together.
You are correct sir. Much more range in comfort motion. People think they’re going into a reverse pivot then abandon it because of the huge difference in feel from their regular swing.
I quite agree with you. But people fail to see that it’s only a reverse pivot if your weight moves back to the trail side on the forward swing instead of to the lead side as Rob shows.
I tried this move with my driver and woods today, and WOW, I hit my driver 240 to 280 all day, and I hit my 3 wood 240 off of one tee box during the round, I was very impressed, gonna try it with my irons tomorrow. I shot an even par 72 by the way, usually I'm at around 78-81, oh yeah, I'm 63, so age shouldn't matter much with this technique. Thanks Rob!!!!!!!!!!!!
TQ RC for a very clear explanation on the mechanic of golf swing...simple and easy to understand
Thank you for watching! 👍🏻

Welcome! Thanks for watching! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Have been wanting to see a clear demonstration of flexion/extension since I got into SandT..brilliant, thanks!
I'm glad you found it helpful!
Thank you so much. Your videos have been very helpful and I've started to see positive changes with your teachings. Thank you.
You are so welcome! Happy to hear the videos are helping you! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Well presented. I know you're right, I'm lacking here... I'll begin tomorrow . Thank you.
Thanks, Wayne. Glad the video was helpful! 👍🏻
It is very clear and easier to understand this Video . Great . Thank a lot mr Rob!
Great video. Extension is the biggest aid to getting increased club head speed and distance
Very true!
Thank you Rob you are revealing things that make sense and I can't wait to try everything you have said
Very good presentation on which muscles to use during the backswing. Thanks.
Thank you, Phillip! 🙏🏻
Great stuff Rob. I'm working hard on this stuff. Happy to see more uses for the I-Range. Just got mine and I love it. Being able to do the head against the wall drill while holding a club has already made it worth the price.
It’s such a great tool! 👍🏻
You make so much sense to me. THANK YOU

Happy to be able to provide you with some clarity in a world of confusion!!! 🙏
Excellent video. I was doing ok on the backswing extension but used to move my head ahead of the ball on the downswing 🙏🏻
Glad it helped!

The extension tip on the back swing especially is simply amazing, thanks Rob.
You’re welcome! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Signing up for lessons!!! Love Rob!
Hey, Kevin! Just catching up on my YT comments and happy to see you here. Hope you enjoyed your Skillest lesson!
Another great tips
Glad you enjoyed it

Rob, another great lesson. I’ve learned the swing all wrong. Off to practice.
Thanks for watching! Happy to hear the video was so helpful! 👍🏻
Hello Rob. Yet another great lesson. How do I keep from raising or lifting my torso while extending in the backswing and downswing? Early extension.
You need the appropriate amount of side bend (tilt). The HEAD ON THE WALL drill covers this in detail - th-cam.com/video/NL0qmhPWmao/w-d-xo.htmlsi=E00fzJPrmMYnR6B3

Hey Rob. I suggest that message at the end about non-subscribers should also appear at the beginning of your videos as well.
Thank you, Jason. I’ll consider that.

@@robcheneygolf1 the CRUSH THE CAN video in conjunction with this one now makes sense. Thanks very much.
On the down swing, do you push your right knee towards the target to help your pelvis extension?
Yes, somewhat. I think this video will help explain how the right leg should move in the downswing to promote the correct pelvis motion... th-cam.com/video/pPgLY5rYSrA/w-d-xo.htmlsi=tdz2Oi8IPdZE55Dq
Im going to get two of those mag plane sticks and put them both out at the same time front and back lol
You have changed my game for the better…..
That’s very kind! Thank you! 🙏🏻👍🏻
Does this fix any other issues? Like would fixing this also promote better take away and swing path? I feel like after watching this - this could be the reason I hit a huge slice sometimes or it goes straight but only 225.
Yes! This DEFINITELY influences other part of the swing, particularly swing path.
I have watched many golf how-to videos and have come to realize that there are too many of them with too many different ways to swing the cirrect way.
