  • This is my long term review of what I consider to be the best ZT knife available today. It fits the bill as a medium size knife with everyday, heavy use in mind. Impeccably designed and built to last, I would highly recommend this to any new or seasoned knifenut out there.

    Great vid, I know I’m late to the 0562ti party but I just pulled the trigger on one. Thanks

    one of my all time favorites. USA made blades sells theese with custom etched and annodized scales. I wouldn't worry about rust in the pivot as long as you oil your pivot 2 or 3 times a year bare minimum. It's definitely over built. Great video!

    The stainless bearings also wear grooves in the titanium scales. For less than $25 you can add multi-row ceramic bearings with washers that fix any bearing issues on this knife. I got mine from Taco Bearings.

    Great review. The 0470 was a huge surprise for me. Bought it on a whim and it's my overall favorite ZT I've had and is a staple in my top 5 knives.
    Worth checking out if you haven't tried one before.

    The carbon fiber model is my preferred model. There are so many really cool scales available for it that are textured for a better grip. I'm ordering a textured carbon fiber scale to improve the look and traction. Also, the clip gets beat up pretty quickly, so upgrading the hardware and clip to titanium is also a great option. Great knife

      my hand has been completely soaked in blood while skinning a deer with this titanium version and I had zero problems with slipping. It wasn't my knife I was using at the time - but I wound up getting the titanium recently after seeing it prove itself in the field. I think we too often make too much out of the grips (unless the knife grips are basically flat) but I only know what I have personally seen.

    Whats your experience with bearing wearing off titanium?

    • @these7seas
      @these7seas  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not much, usually they have steel racing interfacing between the titanium and the bearing but from wha five heard, titanium is softer than steel or ceramic so will tend to wear into them over time.

    • @mastodonxrp5314
      @mastodonxrp5314 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@these7seas I can confirm that titanium is softer than steel. The company I work for makes a model of downhole oil/gas well sensors that have a titanium pressure housing. The titanium will wear out with flat spots over time as the housing slides against the steel oil/gas well casing.

    • @eurokid83
      @eurokid83 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      There’s steel shims between the bearings and the titanium. No wear.

    • @vybtom1
      @vybtom1 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I heard it will wear in a little bit, but then it will stop, because the titanium will get compressed, so it will become harder

    So no comment about the cosmetic thumb studs? I am a thump stud kind of guy and was quite disappointed they are some bizarre cosmetic stickon. I even caught you reaching for them early in the vid and then going for the rear flipper tab.

    • @antonssergejevs3205

      Those are for stopping a blade, kind of like an umnumzaan has

    • @vybtom1
      @vybtom1 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Those are not thumb studs, not even any cosmetic thumb studs. Those are over travel stops, they ensure the blade can't move further when you open it. It's a pretty good solution because it also helps with side to side blade play since they are on both sides.
      The stop pin on this knife actually only stops the blade from going further when closed, it doesn't touch it when opened.
      If you're a thumb stud kind of guy, this is not a knife for you. This is for flipper kind of guys.

    Just bought mine for $300. I was tempted to buy the new tan scaled one thats a little bigger but this one just seems like a classic. You think I made the right decision? I also have the 0350 which I absolutely love. Always been partial to ZT
