Hi Gary, I wish Les Pauls were like busses because I get my free pass in three weeks and I'd certainly take full advantage of that. What a killer guitar that one is. It sounds huge and just commands attention, and doesn't it clean up well too. You summed it up perfectly when you said it just feels like quality when you play it and I'm sure it does. Seems to me that's why a person goes for a Les Paul. It's that boat anchor of a thing hanging off your shoulder that you can feel resonating through your body when you play it. When I went to the local emporium to have a play, one of the guitars I tried was the Les Paul modern lite. Nothing wrong with it but the body was only about half the thickness of a regular Les Paul and the experience of playing it was completely different. I remember having a noodle on an old LP from the early 60s in a guitar store in Durham and I felt privileged to play it, that thin one just felt like a decent guitar and nothing more.
Hi Rod :-) that's interesting about the Modern Lite, I haven't had a go on one of those yet. Yes, this one did remind me very much of an old school LP and it weighed roughly the same as an old school boy! Cheers, Gary :-)
Absolutely stunning and the guitar isn’t bad either 😂love the new Gibson 50s 60s models the quality is fantastic it saves paying £300k for an original one take care mate
Hahahahaha, hi Bob :-) Yes, these 50's and 60's LP's really feel proper old school quality, too. The gown was one of the modesty variety, fortunately for everyone concerned hahahahaha. Cheers, Gary :-)
@FoxysGuitarShow Les Paul guitars have always alluded me. Every time I try to purchase a Les Paul guitar, a financial situation arises!!! Ex: an expensive auto repair!!!! LOL 😆 But the guitars are gorgeous!!!
😂😂Love the hospital piccie buddy. Nice instrument Gary...It looks like the heritage cherry that one Gary🤔, must be my failing eyes😂. By the way, you are getting better looking by the upload.✨💯✨ Thank you as usual 👏👏👏
Hi David and thanks :-) We're trying it without spectacles tonight (Sat 14/09) Yes, it does have that Heritage Cherry look about it certainly the pickup cavity and checklist confirm it's an Ice Tea flavour. Pure quality these 50's and 60's Standards and they really do feel like a Les Paul should - very heavy (but not very humble)! Cheers, Gary :-)
Great review. MS 👍
Hi MS and thanks :-) More six string tomfoolery one the way! Cheers, Gary :-)
