- That's it. I'm switching to the Fold 5... Or, I have switched. However you want to put it. Basically, ever since I picked up the Z Fold 5, I haven't been able to put it down. And I sincerely cannot see myself going back to a typical slab style phone after being spoiled by Samsung's Z Fold 5.

I just want to say thank you for the support on this video it means a lot, I was going to upload this on Thursday, as-per my regular upload schedule. BUT I've been trying to upload more now that I have the new space/ setup, it has has become so much easier and more enjoyable to shoot! And I've been having a blast!
You forgot Dex! Using Dex is like unlocking pro mode. Plug the phone into a giant TV, use a bluetooth keyboard and mouse and you have a HD windows like machine. I haven't used my laptop in a year because of Dex. My fold 3 is the only device I use for everything. And with Xbox game pass you can stream games on it and use a bluetooth controler. Zero lag. You really need to start playing with Dex.

Well, I'm surely going back, since I'm not willing to switch every year with such poor trade in value. Problem is those hinges break as mine did a month after warranty. Good thing samsung still fixed for free.
I actually used the Fold 3 for almost 2 years with no durability issues... I used the 4 briefly and then went to the 5. I can tell the difference in all 3. I also didn't have the durability issues some others had. I'm sure I will always keep a foldable going forward, once you open that door it's hard to close.

I got 1 year Fold3, 1 year Fold4 and now Fold5. As I am really heavy user I just had the same isue with both - after 9 moths the inner screen protector just started to peeling off in the middle and when I change the device it is peeled of in the middle from top to bottom. No other issues even when they fell from my and kids hands many times..
@@mzd123 I forgot the initial screen on the Fold 3 did start to peel after about 9 months or so. They replaced it no problem. I had no problems with it after that. I had no issues from the Fold 4 screen, praying no issues with the 5
Still have the fold 3 and I don't plan on switching soon tbh love this phone too much
I'm still on the fold 2 because it hasn't caused me any problems over the 3y so far and should it break on me it just gets replaced for a newer one by my insurance
You matched my exact thoughts about my experience. A lot of reviews complain about the outer display when I prefer it for typing and one handed use. Whenever I want productivity or media consumption then I unfold.
Also the outer display gives me ipod nano vibes when changing tracks
That's the idea. That's whats the fold is made for. You want a wider cover display? Then use a candy bar phone.
Moved from a 13 Pro Max to the Z Fold 5. Seriously imlressed both with the phone and how far android has come along in the last few years.

i like the bigness of the iphone 13 pro max (i been on ios since the iphone 4) before that i had the “droid incredible “ i preferred the small hand factor of the IP12 but wanted more storage. I just bought the z fold 5 in perfect unlocked condition on ebay for a fraction of what samsung is selling it for. the small front screen factor for easy one hand use and the big inside for videos and such other productivity when i need it, on reviews they say the fold 5 folds better then folds 1-4 and they are lighter so that’s a selling point also cause the 13 is heavy i had a s23 ultra also from ebay but im not sure what it was but it felt meh like the same size and shape as my 13 pro max. so i gave it 2 a family member…looking forward to this change. they made the iphone 15 lighter with titanium but they made it too light so its easy to break and i like swapping sim cards so no more iphones after 13 lol
Completely agree with you. I have not been this happy and excited about using a device in a while. I pretty much switched every year from the days of Note 8. I'm driving my family crazy telling them almost daily how much I love it. 😂 Yes I wish the cover display was just a bit wider but I'm afraid that if it goes too wide it'll lose some of its "magic." Just today was so happily using it open one handed. I have the slim S pen case and it's very easy to hold. The displays are just so sweet! I find myself taking random shots outdoors just to see the display in action... And every so often I think about picking up a slab to go alongside but just can't. I've gotten so used to and love this form factor. Using my wife's 12 Pro Max feels chunky. This device is a joy to daily use!
yup the outer form factor contributes to the inner display as to how smooth both the display works together.. most people just wish for bigger outer display but it plays an important role for the inner display too and samsung did it right unlike the pixel or other foldables ..its not so easy to maintain consistency for both the displays put together ...this is where other foldables fall sort ...it doesnt seem as one tab or phone or they create black border in apps not just while watching movies
I just switched to the Z Fold 5 a little over a week ago and I freaking love it!!! I was a huge apple user 10+ years, still in the apple eco system but no iPhone has anything close to the Z Fold 5. I can't see myself going back to apple. I love the big screen, the features, the versatility, still have a lot of tips and tricks to learn but I'm loving every moment of it. It's a breath of fresh air if you have a tips and tricks video send it my way
Yep ditching my 13pro. I only have old AirPods and apple 3 series. Keeping my iPad pro to hang on to. I feel like productivity would increase on this phone
@imirish4702 it does honestly, the way you can have multiple screens or apps open at the same time. I can't see myself going back to apple after owning a Samsung Fold, these phones are definitely next level. I downloaded games just to play and look at the cool graphics how good they look on the big screen lol
I've had my fold 5 for 2 weeks now. And I have been amazed! It works great, I too use the inner bigger screen about 90% of the time. No battery issues. I like the thinner, taller screen as well. It just seems to be more comfortable in hand. Even though it is slightly thicker and slightly heavier than the normal smart phone. It runs real smooth, the screen keeps me from using my tablet for a lot of things. The battery life has been fantastic. I use mine watching TH-cam, using it for work and listening to music almost constantly. I could not love my fold 5 more.

Great video. Just subbed to your channel. I've had my Fold 5 for 3 weeks now and love it. Feel I like I have something special in my hands. This is my first ever Fold device and first android device in over 10 years as had iPhones during that time and got bored of them. Upgraded from the 12 Pro Max to the Z Fold 5 and hands down the best decision that I've ever made.
I luv mine. First time fold owner. Have always wanted one but knew I had to wait if I wanted a better product. I am excited to see what comes next for the fold series.
I went from the iPhone 11 Pro Max, tested the 14 Pro Max, and will likely never return to Apple. My Zfold5 is so much fun. It's great for notes, fun for selfies, and super convenient.
Besides being a conversation starter, connecting to my wireless kb/mouse, and being a great content machine. It has excellent battery life, but! The metal edges scratch very easily. I accidentally bumped against a 50 pound ups, and it scratched my Front display.
I fell asleep on my couch, and the phone fell between the cushion and the metal couch frame, causing two tiny scratches to the edge.
I bought a case and am no longer worried.
The case is super thin and feels great on the phone, and it also protects the hinge. 10/10 do recommend this phone.
I just purchased the z foldable 5. I was a true Apple user and owner of several devices. There is a learning curve from the Apple environment, but with a little bit of work, I understand the Android. I love the fold out display. I can get rid of the iPad, and open the phone for the tablet experience. I understand why Apple is not going to the foldable phone; a foldable phone would kill their iPad sales. I'm know I am in the honeymoon phase of the foldable 5, and time will tell. for now, I am impressed with this phone. Thank you for your video. There is a ot to learn.
I traded my s21 ultra in for the fold 5. And I agree I liked my old phone but there is now way I'd go back. I got the big screen for videos and reading which is so nice. And my battery life has been improved compared to my last phone.

The Fold4 was my main and only phone from the moment it came out till I traded it in for the Fold5. The Fold is awesome 👌🏾
I've been a Note user from the start, switched to the Zfold 3, and now have the Zfold 5. I will never go back to a regular phone. This phone is by far the best out there in just about every way.

I can feel your joy for Z Fold 5. I have switched from iPhone 11pro to this awesomeness. It's really comfortable to use by one hand even with main screen open because of it's wait distribution. I am editiong 4k videos on Lumafusion and it's really snappy. I really can't switch back to traditional mobile for sure not even iPad 😄.
How is the battery? Is it last as long as iPhone
Agreed. Being able to capture 4k, edit in Lumafusion (which is a nice UX), then publish videos is a game changer IMO.

Very well said on the usage! In all honesty, i do miss returning the Fold5 and back to my S23U. Thought i feel the battery was considerably good on Fold5 i still have the battery anxiety . My S23U never was a concern for me so may be time will get me to Fold5. For folks like me Samsung cpuld have just made the damn thing 5000 mamp and i am jumping to Fold5 from my trustworthy S23U.
Also the software experience on Fold5 is just great!

I always end up switching back to my Galaxy Ultras because of the narrow front display. I have big hands and it's tough for me to use it and even use for general use. I love the Galaxy Z Folds, but I just can't stick to them for too long because of it. I'm hoping that by the Z Fold 6 they make the front display a bit wider. As Always, great vids. Cheers!

I also have an iPhone 13 pro max and S23 Ultra but haven't used it as my daily. I switched my sim to the S23U as my daily and I'm thinking to sell my iPhone for the fold 5. Hahaha. I think android caught up to Apple nowadays.

@@valismind I returned my Pixel Fold and kept the Z Fold 5. I'm looking towards next year's version of the Pixel but so far the Z Fold 5 has more of what I want/need out of a foldable phone at the price of $1800 USD

I have a fold 4/5, S23 ultra, pixel 7 pro and iphone 14 pro max. I use the iphone the least then the pixel i go back and forth between the s23 ultra and fold pretty much but use the Fold more. You arent kidding about the huge jump in battery life between the fold 4 and 5...thats worth the upgrade alone right there. The mix fold 3 has certainly got my attention lately thats for sure

Spot on review. I couldn't agree more. I have the 5, have had the 2, 3 & 4. I can't believe I've ended up upgrading every yr. I'm FAR from rich and it all started with a bday splurge (virgos stand up!). Now I'm hooked! Samsung's trade-in program has been too good to pass up for me. And IMO their improvements have been significant enough, with the exception of the 4 vs 5. I only upgraded because in all my Z Fold experience I finally had a serious issue with the 4 front SCREEN. It to shut off and stop working all together, and even Samsung couldn't repair it so they refunded me the full price which was WAY more than I spent. Fold's durability has impressed me. I'm a careful person, like I rarely ever break phones but I'm far from gentle on theses and I do not like cases so I barely use them at all and no prior issues not even a cracked outer screen.. 🤞 While waiting to get my 4 back I was using an S22 Ultra I had NIB collecting dust that I got on a Note 8 Trade-in when I switched service providers.. And I was going to keep that but man I missed my Fold aside from the camera comparison.. That and the news of the refund did it for me and I'm happy with my decision. From 1 former Apple fan boy to another.. Cheers, welcome & enjoy.

Yep you’re absolutely right I have a iPhone 14 a Samsung galaxy 22 and my personal phone is a fold 4 I won’t upgrade I don’t think but there is no way to go back. I don’t understand why everyone is against the outer screen but it’s perfect and like you said not meant to be used like a traditional phone. First time watcher great video.

This is exactly how I feel. I am currently an iPhone 13 mini user, but I wish I liked big phones. I don’t. I’m so sick of iOS and there absolute refusal to give us an operating system that is one-handed, friendly, among many other features that android has had for years. Also, why still no fingerprint sensor on the iPhone? The fold five could be perfect. I think I would love it. However, I failed three different times trying to go to android. I have a pixel 6a as a back up. Also, Apple, putting the new chip only on the pro models is my breaking point. It’s gross. I may pull the trigger on black Friday for this phone. Also, I get to see the other new releases, including the one plus open. Just subbed. Peace.
Great video. For my business line I kept going back to iPhone for the voicemail. I usually buy unlocked phones for verizon. I could never get transcribed voice mail to work right. Finally got googlevoice setup right and using it for voicemails. I think ive finally got everything setup right on the fold 5 to kick the iPhone down the road.
To be fair, the iPhone has NOTHIGN on the Fold 5 🥰

For reasons other than how good a phone is, if you're in business, there's nothing that eases a customer or potential customer mind than seeing the blue bubble when texting. It's sad, but unfortunately true. That is why I'm going back to the iPhone. I've seen the difference.

Wait why isn't the pixel fold not offered in Canada? Also i agree. I love the ergonomics of the fold. The narrow form factor is perfect for my hands but still offers a tablet experience when i want it.
Because goolge doesnt care about Canadian customers. Not hard to buy one online but theres no way I would ever buy a 1st gen google device without a warranty especially a folding device . That and its just not worth the asking price
New sub! Commenting from my z fold 5 coming from 14 pro max!! I can't agree with you more. I'll never go back to any other form factor like you said. I love you setup do you mind making a video showing how you did it?!! I'm new to android but only customization I've been doing is through Good Lock etc. Haven't messed with any launchers yet.

I am planning on doing a setup video eventually, though I'm not entirely finished with the space as I only moved in less than a month ago. Coming from a small den in a Condo, to an actual room has given me so many ideas though!!

It works fantastically, and the Fold 5, like the Fold 4, has a problem with the 2-part masks. It spoils the beauty of the phone, and it also increases in size and weight, so I would prefer not to put it in any kind of case, but still......I wouldn't want to risk it, as I have several original Samsung 🙂 Send a link to that cases. I will be upgrading to the Fold 6 ( will be my first fold ) Really looking forward to it!! Left Apple a couple of years ago , been using the S22 Ultra. Really enjoying the Android experience.

I checked it out it person and I'm still on The fold 3 due to lack of improvements on the fold 4 but the fold 5 feels really cheaply made and the edges are sharper even tho it is thinner and lighter. The metal bar across the back has a samsung logo that looks etched on by laser where as on my fold 3 it's actually engraved. Very sad don't think I'll upgrade. will be waiting on fold 6.
I have just moved to the fold 5, I was sceptical with cover screen as I did not enjoy the fold 2-4 because it felt chunky when using the the front screen but it feels different, because of the hinge change.
How do you feel now? Would you recommend?
When you switch like that, how do you dodge the, “where are your blue bubble?” Questions or not talked to bc you’re not back on android?
My fold5 is coming tomorrow but you aren’t the odd one out when it comes to liking the thin screen. I have been playing with my friends fold5 and I love the narrower one hand screen
Had a fold 3 for 3 years with zero issues and no damage even after a few clumsy drops I think the ones that do break may just be deffects just upgraded to the fold 5 and like you mentioned I will probably never be able to get a non folding phone great video
What is the clear case you are using? Is it durable? My daughter drops my fold 4 759 times a day...
I literally just unboxed mine from Verizon blind purchase this , so I ❤it.
I still am using the original fold ..actually typing this on it right now ..been completely faultless all this time ..
Finally after 4.5 years of daily use the battery life is taking a slight hit not quite making it from 6am till 10pm anymore .. but what would you expect .. the screens and hinge are as good now as when I bought it .....
So it's testament to how good the build quality actually was on this first gen device..
I'm so pleased how well this phone has treated me that I'm gonna upgrade to the 5 for my birthday ..

Totally agree with you. I've tried everything including several iPhones and Android phones, but Fold 5 just is everything i didn't know i needed.
I agree with the level of productivity this phone offers. I just parted ways with mine. For me the cover screen and bulk eventually got the better of me.
I’ve been on the fence on getting the a fold 5 to be honest. Still got my 13 pro max since launch and have a iPad mini 6 with Apple Pencil just for the bigger screen when I watch stuff. But it’s not the same has having a tablet size phone you can carry in your pocket. When I’m out and about I don’t take the iPad mini but I want that size sometimes when Im not home so now what? My kids and wife have iPhones so it wouldn’t make sense to switch again .. was in that boat before and went back to the iPhone. Same concerns you have on durability and paying 1000 every year to upgrade when my 13 pro max has been paid for like a year and half. Yes the 15 “ ultra” doesn’t look like much of a banger this year of course so why would you go back. I just love android and prefer it but what you gonna do. I commend you for making the full switch over to a foldable and hope you stay with it.. so many of us go back to iOS when we are trying to get away.. sorry for the long post.. just speaking my mind and really enjoy your videos!
I understand that, I’m in the same situation, the only thing that is keeping me to my iphone is the eco system. 1- the Apple watch. 2- Find my family ( I use this a lot) and all my family members are on ios. 3- The hefty price of the fold; I don’t like carrying an expensive device because I over worry about it and instead of it serving me, I find my self serving it and keeping it comfortable :)
My oldest son has the Fold 4. It looked awesome and I really liked it.. I noticed it was so heavy, but now I don't even notice it. I was concerned about the crease but he said that it wasn't noticeable. I can't update often whereas hes constantly changing phones, I only get a new one once I pay off the previous so it's important it's durable.
The phone I'm trading in is my S21 5G. I'm kinda sad to see it go bc after 3 yrs and hundreds of drops it still looks perfect and works perfect. That's why I love Samsung.. They last and I love the Gorilla Glass.
I love the split screen to work on my budget, I can just work on it without going back and forth, and losing my place.
I love this phone. So I hope it's gonna last.
Proud owner of the 5. But I wonder what your thoughts on the camera. I personally like it but there are plenty who say for an expensive flagship phone the camera should better.

Yeah i agree, i upgraded from an iphone 11 pro that I was originally going to buy the 15 pro max but chose to get the zfold5 dor something different. I was worried that I might hate it. But after a month its kinda awesome, very glad i chose this phone. The last time i owned an android phone was in 2019 and i hated it, the new one UI is sooo much better now and closer to apples ios and some features are actually better.

I have to keep a eye on my brand new z fold 5 battery life even with minimal use it barely lasts me a day that's with auto brightness 120hz on & maybe a quick top up if I want but I am used to the iPhone battery that never had me checking so often I love the fold 5 tho
just came from iPhone (after 14 years of it) and I am loving this phone and the android system is now light year ahead of apple. Sure there are a few minor things I miss, but they are not worth going back.

You and i have the same phone case 😊, ringke makes some solid cases.
if i get a good trade in deal, i'm changing back to the regular phone. Zfold 5 is nice, but only if you use the big screen. Typing is just not great on the front screen, you make a lot of mistakes while typing or minimalizing the apps. I mostly look at messages and put it away. even watching stuff is to bothersome to open it, so i just look at the front screen. So yeah, it's a nice experience, but maybe it will be more usefull in the future.
I had the s23 ultra but made the switch to the zfold. I originally was trying to get my hands on the zfols, but my phone company talked me out of getting the zfold 3 due to the issues that was coming with itm for the longest time I have tried to get my hands on the zfold but no luck so I tried the flip 3. My issue with it was, it kept freezing on me and booting me out of my apps and this happened to me 2 times when my phone company sent me a replacement and the replacement was doing the same exact thing so I argued with my phone company on the issues with it and they sent me a brand new s23 ultra. Now that I FINALLY have my hands on the zfold, I couldn't be more happier. My main thing with it is that narrow screen but not a serious issue. It will take some time getting used too. I'm getting there. But I do wish in the future samsung will listen to us about making the top screen somewhat wider in the future
Facts I switched from the 15 pro max after years of apple. Since the 5s to be exact and now I'm almost a week in with the zFold 5 and man was I blind folded. Yeah iPhone is clean and sophisticated and just works. But it's crazy that for a couple hundred dollars more you get a whole new universe. Not to mention I got a steal $900 PERFECT CONDITION fold 5 from Amazon.

Which screen protector did you get? Opting for the ringke version(only comes w 1 tho) because im getting ringke case. Sooo glad I chose fold 5 over s23 ultra because of the appetizing deal.
It's one from Spigen, they sent me a few which was unexpected but very high quality!
I'm going to switch from my Iphone14 that I just received to a fold 5. I witnessed greatness when my cousin showed me his a night ago.. And I just said .. " dammmm" that phone is amazing.!

I'm still confused if i should upgrade to s24 ultra or fold 5 as i have been using folds since fold 3.
I still have the Fold 3 but I'm seriously wondering if I should upgrade to the Fold 5 or wait for the Fold 6
It's sad that no one realizes how awesome these foldables are. I just sold my fold 4 for $600 as it's value had plumited. They will only give you that much in trade for the s24 ultra so they are basically saying that's what it's worth. I traded my iPhone 14 pro max for the fold 5 and just wanted to get rid of the fold 4 as I didn't put Samsung care on it. Once that hinge on the 4 goes, and it will, Samsung will find a scuff on the hinge and won't cover under warranty (they really fixed the hinge on the 5). Eventually the lint will build up on that older hinge and cause it not open fully. I went into the flagship store here in NYC and lost it so they decided to make an exception and replace the fold 4 hinge. Could not get that phone out of my hands fast enough, hence $600 priced to go. Absolutely love the fold 5 and was able to slap Samsung care on it and I sometimes rock it bareback as it seems like a tank. Please people, put Samsung care plus on everything, especially these foldables and it's cheaper than the nightmare asurant crap.
Three weeks for me too with the Fold 5 and I m literally living in Digital Heaven. Yeah, the battery barely makes to the end of the day if youbuse the inner screen predominantly. The solution, have POWER SAVING turned on permanently. It slows the processor by 30% but on this beast, you wont notice any degradation in performance.
I'm watching on my fold 5, but I still think the aspect ratio needs to change. I'd like to see no black bars when watching content on the inner screen.
I'm waiting a few more generations til they get thinner, wider and more resolution than what was offered this year.
I have the s23 ultra and I prefer it because of the superior battery and camera etc for the future z fold 6 and 7 the have some work to do to impress me with a wider front screen, s pen inside , better battery, s23 camera capabilities and the micro SD card etc

The Z Fold 5, along with the Watch ⌚️ 6 Classic, is my ONLY DRIVER that I have to use as I walk on the yellow brick road to see the wizard!
