    Been waiting for your videos. You know, when this whole project is done, I bet a news station would love some of the videos from start to finish.

    When is it supposed to be done? Or at least Westside Parkway connecting to 58E

    • @myobmyob9558

      The last time I heard an update of when "the corridor" will connect through to 58 eastbound was a few month back but they projected the completion date to be early 2023. So you'll be able to drive from Mohawk to 58 eastbound after that (supposedly). However, they have missed past deadlines and I wouldn't expect them to be on time with this phase either.
      Probably closer to spring/summer 2023.
      The rest of the project will finish later, but the EB-58 is expected to be completed early next year.

    i still havent seen a way to get from southbound lanes 99 to westbound 58 are they not adding a ramp?

    • @TheHeightenedPerspective
      @TheHeightenedPerspective  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      From Hwy 99, westbound 58 is Rosedale Hwy

    • @myobmyob9558
      @myobmyob9558 2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      No, they are not adding a SB-99 to WB-58 ramp at that interchange and it really annoys me! I mean, why spend all of that money, time, and effort revamping that whole interchange and yet leave out two connector ramps?! The other missing one is eastbound 58 connecting to northbound 99.
      Anyone wanting/needing to travel to/from the westside to the north side of town will have to exit the freeway and travel on surface streets (Mohawk and Rosedale) then get back on the freeway. Such poor planning.

      I remember them mentioning that by doing that, it would clog up the 99 during rush hour. Ill try to find the source.

      Due to budget cuts the current interchange does not include ramps that will allow southbound SR 99 traffic to directly transition to westbound Westside Parkway and vice versa.

      @@michaelwaters5168 there are no budget cuts. California is at a 100 billion dollar surplus right now. They have the money to do it right.

    I'm just going to say it's beyond time for this video! Only thing I noticed; no commentary, what happened? Also, while showing the overview, you neglected to show anything with the Murella Way Overpass? I would've loved to see how much progress has been completed on the Murella Way Overpass. Please, next time, don't make us wait so long between updates?

      I'm just curious, how much money have you donated to @The Heightened Perspective? I mean, if you're going to make demands of a content creator that's providing their services for free then you should probably start paying.
      Reminds me of the subreddit r/ChoosingBeggars.

      @@myobmyob9558 Actually, he's not providing his video's for free. I have no problem with someone making video's but it seems as though he only makes videos when he wants, instead of documenting the Centennial Corridor accurately. Honestly, I'm not a paid member. The prices that he charges for his membership's are beyond my means as someone on Social Security!

      @@anthonypinkerton1809 you claim he's not providing his videos for free yet here we are watching them without paying anything. You're not making any sense.

      @@myobmyob9558 The Heightened Perspective is making videos as a way to advertise the fact that he's a FAA qualified Drone Pilot. The Heightened Perspective is also asking people to donate money so that he can replace his drones with newer, more powerful units. These of course aren't cheap. The video that launched the channel the Centennial Corridor Project, but my only complaint is that DC has been slow in uploading newer progress videos. Recently, the Drone Zone has been showing more videos than even The Heightened Perspective is currently showing; proving that competition will bring more opportunities to show more videos. But, like The Heightened Perspective, the Drone Zone is showing more videos and is also asking for funders. I personally would love to fund either channel, but as I'm on a fixed income. My housing, utilities, food and bills are more important than funding entitlements!

      @@anthonypinkerton1809 @Anthony Pinkerton Again, you are not making any sense. You claim his videos aren't free, yet they are since we are watching them without paying. Your reply didn't rebut my point, it actually confirmed it. You admitted that you can't afford to donate. So, you are watching this content for free.
      All I was trying to say was that it's obnoxious to make demands of a content creator that is providing their content for free if you're not contributing anything yourself. If you want to demand more frequent content then maybe you should pay for it.
      The rest of your rant about FCC, drone upgrades, other channels, etc. have nothing to do with our debate and seem like an attempt to distract from the topic at hand.

    I know that this project is needed because Bakersfield and the rest of Kern is going to expand, but honestly it's kind of "bittersweet" seeing this happen. Bakersfield is known for being that "small town city" and now it's just going to be a "city" in the future. I wonder when it's going to hit that million person marker in the future.
