- Dol Amroth have been fighting off raids from the Corsairs for many years now, but times have changed! With the support of Mordor, the Corsairs have sent an invasion force to take Methrast. This is not a raiding party, this is an invasion to conquer and occupy. The brave men of Dol Amroth prepare to make their last stand, and we will witness it all! Enjoy the Battle :D

I think defenders always lose because of the inbalance of good and evil troops. To keep it short, evil might have quantity and little quality, they have enough quantity to overcome quality. Evil has cheap cost of troops plus more troops per gold. Add in the bonus that you can fill more gaps with more troops and attack quality troops in gangs. Evil also has relatively cheap shock troops such as savages, trolls, and elites such as many Haradrim addons and Black Numenoreans that can destroy quality troops regardless. Another bonus to quality is artillery. Would you rather lose ten good troops or ten bad troops. Obviously ten bad troops, and this is why artillery is more effective against good forces, because even small hits are always fatal to good forces. Along side this quality VS quantity inbalance, evil is getting many buffs that make it even harder to win. Quality might have the advantage of better choke points, but this hardly counters all the advantages of bigger, cheaper armies.
Well don't rule out the players either. Often times you see their high quality archers waste ammo on low quality troops that can't fight. Or throw away their cavalry.

I'd like to see a series of battles that follow a storyline. Doesn't have to be historical, but something along the lines of following the armies of Morodor as they ravage Middle Earth. Or a war between elves and men, with an uneasy alliance between Gondor and Harad or Rhun, and the elves calling on dwarven support.

I was on the edge of my seat the entire battle and I started naming each Haven Guard soldier that stood their ground, and everytime one went down, I'd scream, "NO! BOB! GET BACK UP! JIMMY! NO! YOU ARE THE GUARDS OF DOL AMROTH! YOU WILL STAND YOUR GROUND!"

Jeez the Gondor riders look absolutely stunning, also huge props to darkcloud, that cav bit at the beginning was excellently coordinated!
I think the Calvary force outside the wall did alot of work that would help the defenders out a little bit, but the defenders do indeed lose in the end, 2016 year of defenders not winning.
The defenders did extremely well in this siege battle BUT quantity overwhelmed them!
I would say it was a victory for the defenders as the evil faction's troops are now bufffed and just as good as Gondor's troops. Gondor should have been allowed a reinforcement army to support them 15min in.

Especially when they are good factions, but then again maybe its because in the world today there are no heroes that they visualize heroes as fighting whats wrong with the world.
