In this week’s video, we look at the new King Cobra from MTC, Gary uses the scope for precision plinking and talks about its use for Bench Rest shooting, he then takes part in a HFT event at Cambridge HFT club, this will show if it's a good competition and hunting scope. We will then see how it fairs when attached to a 100ftlb Alpha Wolf and finally talk about range finding with it for Field Target.
Gary is running this airgunning vlog - Life at the Range with Gary Chillingworth - every other week on Shooting & Country TV, so make sure to subscribe to the channel and keep and eye out for his videos if you love air rifle shooting. I always look forward to seeing your videos , you always bring a smile to my face whilst watching. Keep up the excellent work
Thanks, I really appreciate that.
I want a video on optical centre mounting!!! 😅 Please
I never miss a Chilly video! Nice scope. I like the turret features with the nifty magnifier.
Helps with my manky eyes
Congratulations on your win Gary. Your videos always have a feel good factor. Take care.
Cheers Paul. I try mate
Nice video thank you next months is one I am looking forward too I am eager to see the results and differences thanks again.
That was a good review Gary, many thanks 🙏 Looking forward to your next one
Congratulations on your win.👍
Great Shooting Gary. I think you might be shooting with Brett at the weekend. Providing the weather stays fine, it should be a fantastic day for you both. 👍
Look forward to it.
I own two older MTC scopes, the Viper and the Taipan. Both great scopes. Love the telescopic sunshade on the taipan.
Great review, Gary.
Can we have a video on optical centring. Heard of it don’t know how to do it.
Would love to see you do a video on the wulf defender 4.8-26x56 if you could? ...currently looking at the wulf, element helix 6-24x50 and this just undecided between them
👍👍
For a scope review I think there has to be a clarity test and tracking/box test, just so that there can be some objective analysis. I don't expect excellence at the budget end but facts are helpful for each person to assess value for money.
It's a good point. I've done that in the past and people haven't enjoyed it
I'll add something into a future vid for the Cobra
Hi Gary,
I see you are not using the LP green stock any more on the TX. Does the original fit you better.
Enjoyed the show.
I've been shooting badly recently, so I've gone back to the set up when I was shooting well. Stock internals, the Frankenstock and that's it. Oddly, my scores have improved.
🤔mmmm Gary in the Conservatory with a King Cobra Scope..🤔🤔🤔 😂😂😂😂😂
What could possibly go wrong...!!
nice looking scope and plenty of mag . at 10 mag ffp does the reticle seem fine . lot i have looked through at lower mag it’s easy to lose the reticle gets very small
It's very fine, on a dark target you need the illuminated ret.
@@garychillingworth so in hft if you tell your shooting buddy your turning the illumination on and off it’s ok as i know your not supposed to touch your scope once the first shot is fired
@@paulspeller968 For HFT, you cannot switch after you've started the comp and in most comps have to write the IR setting on your score card before you start. Hope that helps 🙂
Interesting scope. But my main question is what Scope Maximiser do you use. I've tried a couple but yours looks far superior.
standard Bisley one mate.
@garychillingworth Thanks. I have an old corrugated Bisley, but it's too firm for HFT.
Insert the word,,, human mate.
We've all done it.
This appears to be an advert mate not a review. As soon as you mentioned a brand and TB, I lost interest.
Fair point, I suppose every time I look at a new bit of kit it's an advert for someone. But, I stand by what I say, it's a good scope, but for certain types of shooting.
