This has got to be one of the best and most informative videos I’ve ever seen regarding pellets. Firstly, even as a plinker I can now understand how at greater distances my pellets can drop, because the batch, die or extrusion differing between tins of the same pellet type. It will also help me explain to others that same question when asked what pellet suits what rifle. I’ve known that different pellet types may suit the same rifle I.e. just ‘cos my TX200HC likes QYS doesn’t mean someone else’s will, but now I have the added information that it may even differ if a different batch etc is used. I’ll certainly pay more attention to noting more information about my pellets especially ones that shoot well. I feel better now too as historically any deviation to POI I’ve blamed on the rifle or me. But actually it could just be a totally different pellet batch! Cheers Gary, really appreciated you producing this video.👍

I've found that my HW100 loves pellets that are extrusion 1!

Just started after years of .22 shooting 14.33 Accupell and Crossmans. With a .177. A.a and Jsb 8.4 both calibers take flies off a target at 10 yards 😁😁😁thanks for the Video 👍🏻

What do you do to attract the flies in the first place?

Great video I just was speaking to my shooting buddy this morning he was ordering another brand/weight/ diameter pellet this morning and I said to him we have to start being smarter about our purchases we both know what shoots well from our rifles but every once in a while you think your accuracy is off. This is probably what we have been missing perhaps we have had a good batch followed buy a poorer batch for said rifle. Very interesting Gary thank you

Great video Gary. I've just decided to use less power in my TX to cut down the recoil and aid the accuracy. So finding the drop of the pellet after 40-45 yards is very useful. Many thanks! 😎

For all my guns I find the best 3-5 pellets that group well at hunting distance (30m) and then select on a few factors. Avaliablity, longer range perforamnce and hunting preference.. the later being hard or soft lead and impact expansion. Yeah great advise... if ye find a golden pellet then buy them all!!

Hi Gary. Would you recommend (and did you in this video) give the barrel a quick clean - pull through or felts - between using the different batches?

I stopped buying anything JSB after I chucked a lot in the bin, damaged skirts, under/over weight and lots of rubbish in the tin.
Bought QYS pellets and never looked back!
