    Hey Guys,
Continuing the series wherein I compare older Rolex references to their modern counterparts.
In this video I pitch the Rolex Explorer 2 16570 up against the 216570, lets see which one is better.
    Enjoy!

16570 black with the red 2nd time hand is just so lit and slick. A go anywhere do anything watch

Great video!!! I find the 40mm one is more elegant and refined because of its smaller case and indexes. And the 42mm comes off as more of a tool watch, and the polar version has the most legible dial of any rolex except perhaps the Yachmaster 42.

Excellent round up, and exactly why I got the Polar 5 digit with the 3186 movement. Cheers.

Great video Sakib. I would prefer the smaller case too, I think the proportions are just nicer on that one.

The black five digit for me . I know most would go for the polar dial. My biggest grievance with the polar dial is the indexes . The black surrounds on the indexes in my opinion make it look cheap but that's just my own view

The Polar (white) dial looks much more legible, see time much more quickly, especially in certain lighting conditions. The dial pops at night, and the white gold hands don't get lost in the dark because the hands are blackened.

I have one of the last of the 16570, bought new and still my only Rolex. I bought the black dial, but I'm sure would have been equally happy with the white. If only they had used orange instead of red paint on the GMT hand it would look less like a junior GMT-Master. But that's my only complaint.

I like the red on it as it’s more subtle 😊

Great video! The Explorer 2 is bigger but it’s a superior watch in every way- Bracelet dial hands luminova PR etc! Love the retro orange hand. They still were smart the keep the 16570 Design because it’s gorgeous and elegant. I love how discreet these watches are. I got rid of my sub 41 it was too shiny too much attention everywhere

I feel exactly the same as you. 16570 because of the case size. (Shame about the bracelet though) and I'd go for the Polar one for aesthetics.
    Great video 👌

I have a vintage explorer 2 Swiss t255 how do I find out the value and how can I restore it? The size need to be polished and I don’t have a bracelet and some of the looms have fallen off. However, the movement still works and the glass needs to be adjusted properly, I need your help. I don’t want people to rip me off at these jewelry stores.

6 digit Polar is the best. Especially for +7inch wrists.

While i really love new style orange hand on 216570,and the watch is improved in every way,i just can not justify the increasing in size. It’s just too big for my 16cm wrist.Looking forward to buy a 16570.

spending nearly same amount of money on a used 10 yr old watch vs a brand new one . somehow I feel inclined to buy a new one it’s 42mm so be it . but yea a new version 50th anniversary model is just round the corner , . Watch people are saying grab a 42mm if possible as the new one when released will see a good bump in the price . What do you think ?

    • @WindItOnTheMove
      @WindItOnTheMove  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

manoj d IMHO I don’t think the 216570 will see too much bump if at all..already it’s going used for less than retail..the 16570 (Swiss only dial or 3186 movement) on the other hand has much more potential and has already seen its prices go up 🤷‍♂️😊

Wind It On The Move Fair enough, it might be worth pointing out the weaker jump hour click spring issue that caused some (early?) 3186 models, including the GMT Masters, to have a date change failure. Enjoying the videos btw buddy. 👌🏽
