    OK…THAT was a great interview. I love how you asked thoughtful questions, but then also let Richie really expand on his answers. But maybe the greatest part was at the end, how you really went for it on that second “Livin’ on a prayer!” I could almost sense your brain thinking “ok, I may never get this chance again, so I’m going for it!” 🤘🏻

    I think JBJ has been very complimentary about Richie, quite rightly, the band were better with him but all credit to JBJ to carry on and make it work..he’s a very smart guy with good values and work ethos. I’ve found a new found respect for Bon Jovi. It would be for the fans if they could reunite.

    Always a Bon Jovi and Richie fan. I can get why the guys in the band are a little bitter with him but the press just needs to let it go. Its been 11 years. He didnt go about it the right way but Im sure there's more to the story than we will ever know.
    Always a fan of both....sure it would be great to see them together one last time ,they both have issues and not getting younger, but for now lets wish them both the best and thank you for a great 40 years of music and memories.

    People shouldn’t forget how important Richie was to JBJ’s success. The documentary kind of reminds of the Chicago Bulls Last Dance, which was MJ’s recollection of the times and events, but probably not the full and transparent account of events. This doc also is the same. It’s the story as told by JBJ. Richie there is no JBJ and the success the band had without you. The best songs from my youth were co-written by you. Rock on Sir!!

      He wrote most the goods, and Stranger in this Town, and Young Guns II soundtrack show that. Only good thing about YGII was Jeff Beck, and boy was that a treat. I honestly had more respect for him before hearing this interview. Jon was very gracious to him in the documentary and Ritchie is not returning that favor. He's acting like he was an angel when really He walked out on his fans and his partners without an explanation. I love him in the band I've never heard anything he did before or after. I have certainly continued to listen to Bon Jovi.And the things they put out after he left. I wish he had been a little more humble and a little more honest about his departure and owned it better. He's great and I would go see them again if he joined, but I'd see them regardless.

      Jon doesn’t have a gracious bone in his body. Every chance he gets he calls Richie out on his issues. He has been doing that for years. Heck, at one point, he told Richie to shut the F up about all that he did in the band because he knows Richie did a lot and he didn’t want him getting any credit. Richie is finally speaking out on how he feels about it and I for one am glad he is.
      Also, Jon was wrong for calling out Alec and his issues in the documentary. Alec passed away and is not even here to defend himself. Jon is cold hearted and cold blooded, egotistical, self centered and it kills me that his fans actually think he could ever do anything wrong. I really don’t see how Richie put up with him for all those years

    • @rudsit
      @rudsit 22 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@denisecastleberry5724 No all the guys talked with Alec and Alec was the one that finally made the decision to leave!!!OMG! You know nothing. Alec was always drunk on stage. And never showed up to record. They had to do something about him even tho it hurt them. But they all stayed friends. As for Richie he left without telling anyone that night he wasn't showing up and then never showed up again and left them stranded without a guitar player how is that fair. He didn't even tell them why!! In the real world if someone didn't show up for work they would be fired on the spot!! Same dif. Plus Richie if feeling good in this interview. Real nice. He needs to go back to rehab. He is such a dumbass. Jon isn't talking smack about him but Richie is about him and Bon Jovi. He didn't have a problem when he was in the group as I watching videos of them back inn the day. he seemed fine then. He wouldn't be anything without them in fact he told Jon that he was going to be HIS guitar player. Jon should have kept looking for one and not just signed on Richie so fast. I love how Richie is changing history when he is interviews and he changes it in every interview he does. He can't keep it straight. I'm getting so sick and tired of him right now lying when he opens his mouth. I can't even hear anymore of this interview. He's making a fool of himself. He needs to get his 💩 together. Because he has lied why he left Bon Jovi in the first place and he's lying now. And the guys are being really good about it not calling him on it but us real fans know it. We know the time lines. And you followers just believe everything he says.

    What’s great about this interview is Richie actually sounds well and healthy. He’s had some bad PR with a few podcasts and interviews in the last 12 months (one even getting pulled after being released) and this interview feels like a total 180. Obviously Richie still has some demons I’m sure but as a huge fan, this was refreshing to see him in this light.
    One of my favorite moments was getting to eat Richie’s 50th birthday cake at the meadowlands. He had this insane Les Paul shaped cake brought out and the 15 year old me was just pinching myself that I was backstage filming with the band and experiencing Richie’s birthday. Little did I know the end of the band was so close. -Patrick

      @FStoppers หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@CharliePutz yeah I’m not sure what to make of the Prayer performance. I will say that when you’ve played that song a million times, it’s easy to 1) take playing it for granted and therefore mess up a bit and 2) try to play it differently than you’ve always played it because you are bored to death of it. That said, it didn’t sound like he can hit the notes either so the idea that he can cover for Jon is suspect.
      But I think he sounded great during the interview. Compare this to the one he did with foo fighter’s Chris Shiflett and its night and day. -P

      Love Richie...Lucky I was able to meet him and spend time with him one night...he's the reason I became a guitar player....BUT...He still isn't right. Fortunately, he does sound better than he has in recent interviews -- however, you can tell his pronounciation of words is off, the over the top physical antics. I've seen Richie completely straight and this is night and day -- although, as others pointed out again, he's better than he's been. Agree with the others on here, Prayer was cringe-worthy for numerous reasons. He also needs to stop taking shots at Jon -- comes off as unprofessional and catty. Oh and everyone who says there would be no Jon without Richie: Listen -- Bon Jovi wouldn't be "Bon Jovi" without both of them. BOTH of them are what made that band successful (along with the others who composed the perfect bass lines, piano parts, and drum grooves). Pray he can get back to a healthy Richie again.

    Thanks for the interview. Always loved Richie and his solo music as it seemed a lot more expressive than the stuff he did with Bon Jovi. Not that I don’t love his material with Bon Jovi but after he left there just seems to be big gaping void that only he can fill. Kudos to Richie for maintaining his integrity. Richie is one of those once in a lifetime guitarists who can never be replicated because he has so many different approaches to his material. Often copied never replicated. Looking forward to hearing more of his new material. God bless from Fiji 🇫🇯👍😎🤙👊🤘

    Allison, thank you, thank you, thank you! I just watched "Thank You and Good Night" the night before last. I binged all four episodes in a row. This interview with Richie added some balance to that story. I agreed with everything Richie said. There was some shifts in the timeline. There were also some albums missing from the series too. Like Jon was actually dropped or temporarily dropped from the label. That wasn't in there. The story about why Alec left is also different than what I recall from interviews with Jon right after it happened. Plus, so much about Richie's contributions and what he did and even how he was portrayed was off. So this added balance. It also offered hope. God don't we all need some hope? I would love for Jon to be able to come back and for Richie to rejoin him on stage. Even if it were for just one night. It would be worth the wait. Thanks again for your show. I love it. I love what you're doing. DON'T. EVER. STOP!

    As a HUGE fan of Bon Jovi, i could never imagine them without Ritchie. Him and Jon were the perfect duo. To me, Ritchie was just as important as Jon. I know he chose a different road in life, the band isnt the same without him. At least we have years of music and memories with him. I would love for jons voice to heal and have Ritchie come back for a short tour or tv concert as a thank you and farewell to the millions of fans. I feel sorry for Jon. Hes on a massive promo tour for his documentary which ive been watching tons of them and the first question he's asked is about Richie. I I haven't seen much of Richie but his first question was about Jon. People need to stop already.

    Hey Richie and Alison ✋🏻 just wanted to say I don’t think Jon would’ve made it as a solo artist because Richie was the heart and soul of that band. Richie, I know you heard the fans screaming every time you did your solo parts on guitar or vocals especially I’ll Be There for You! That song was made for you to sing. I love your new songs as well and your older albums too. Undiscovered Soul is my favorite. Seeing you live in concert is tops on my bucket list since I have never had the opportunity to do that.
    Alison, I think you made a lot of new fans after that interview. I know I am one of them. Thanks to you both for taking the time to share with us.

    • @heather6668
      @heather6668 10 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@user-vw1lz4pf6d Exactly - where's the huge headlining tour he probably thought he would have? He's a fantastic guitarist and harmony vocalist in Bon Jovi but like so many who think they're better than they actually are, he didn't quite hit. Jon also doesn't disparage him or his value to the band, whereas Richie seems to put Jon down whenever he gets an opportunity. While it would be great if he came back and they could be what they were (doubtful after so many years and the change in their music at their ages), I think Jon would be an idiot to take him back and believe that he was committed to his place in the band and let's face it, Jon is anything but an idiot. I think he regrets leaving and realises he needed the band. That the other band members still have a rift with him after all those years tells me that he was in the wrong with how he left and they resent it. No one knows what went on between them all but I think if he was going to return it should have been within a year or two. Kind of think that ship has sailed. Jon doesn't seem to want to say it's not going to happen, but Richie still seems to be at odds with everything and want to fuel animosity. I can't see a reunion working unless ALL of them put aside their differences and agree to start over and not bring up old crap.

      Any news on a new Santana album? Is Carlos ever going to return to the special guest lead singer format of Supernatural, Shaman and All That I Am? I sincerely hope that he does. There are some really young and underrated singers that still have yet to be discovered or aren't as famous as they could be, especially female singers. Do you think you can get an interview with Carlos to see what he's up to these days? I'd like to see him do a song collaboration with Echosmith lead singer Sydney Sierota if he ever decides to record a new Santana album and go back to the guest lead vocalist format from 1999-2005. (Sydney) is a singer whose voice has matured quite a bit. She went from a range of (at age 16) Taylor Swift to Hayley Williams to a range of (at age 26) Amy Lee to Grace Slick. I yearn to see the days when the rock and roll legends collaborate with the new faces of rock and pop once again. If anyone can do this, it would definitely be Carlos Santana. And he really excelled at it. A Santana and Steve Perry (ex of Journey) collaboration would be really epic. Two Bay Area legends teaming up together.

      @@fridabear1874he did, but only to say here that he should left like two years earlyier…and in all his words and expressions he make, it’s ovius that he just cannot say, Jon was the engine for the band. Anyway, for me it’s like choosing what parent to live with…love them both😅

      Yep - without Jon's work ethic the band would never have hit like it did. I've also said countless times that he should have told them before the tour preparation and rehearsals that he didn't want to do it, not wait till 20 shows in with another 80 to go and just not turn up at the next venue. That's not how you do things and not how you treat a) your audience or b) your band mates or c) all those other people involved in a massive tour like that who rely on the tour to feed their families. It's not just Jon he let down. Why can't he just acknowledge Jon's massive contribution to their combined success? Everything is "I", not Jon or we. I think the fact that there is still a rift between him and Dave/Tico tells us that they still have a problem with his attitude.

      @@asbjrnl.srensen3781sure that’s why Jon’s songwriting is so weak and my first guitar lyrics could have been a 16 year old writing those lyrics 😂😂😂 Richie is a million times talented than Jon could ever wish he was

    What my interpretation of what Richie said about John makes perfect sense ! You go up the scales throughout the years and well we all know reality sets in and we are not the spring chickens we once were , but anyways The whole Bon Jovi catalog went to heights that noone ever could have imagined and when your voice deteriorates over time and lets face it abuses the money maker ! John gave us 30+ years of solid vocals and more shows than will ever know . Richie was thinking about that and more about the brand instead of just kicking albums out there's a standard and when the standards get compromised by bad vocals I would have left too and respect that ! I got to see them in Indianapolis without Richie when they were promoting This House Is not for sale tour and it was awesome to be there but John's voice wasnt the greatest and lets face it if it wasnt for the backing vocals it would have been tough to watch live knowing what use to be and what reality in the moment differed ! I will always be a fan of Bon Jovi because for the ones of us who has had the privilege to have heard the catalog since the begining it was beautiful and still is . I hope John can get his voice back to atleast 80% of what it use to be and Ritchie and him can write one more great rock songs and bring the band back to full circle ! God bless the band and Ritchie and look forward to what tomorrow can bring ! Stay Classy Ritchie and John and the bands !

      Offcourse they did, this clearly was a john bon Jovi project. People have no idea how john is, he wants to control everything, he was the reason why richie leave. He was the reason why in new jersey tour they had to stop for a while.
