If you enjoyed it, I recommend also the series "Isabel". I am not sure if it's from the same producer, but it is definitely also a masterpiece. I have watched it three times already!
Well english need to hide their crimes and expand their propaganda and Spain have just to tell the history as it is.... If france had to do a series they would hide their alliance with the sadistic Turkish empire.

Philippa Gregory's shows have many ahistorical events, example: Richard Duke of York, son of Edward IV survived in the show the White Princess, and Henry VIII courting Catherine of Aragon when she was his brother's wife
