Impossible to give just one song from Nightmare album. All Songs are a piece of art. "Welcome to the Family" and "God Hates us" are the more badass songs and "Save Me" (their masterpiece of this album) and "Victim" the more instrospective and progressive ones.
I second this, Save Me is a must
Welcome to the Family one of my favorites for years. They should hear it for sure !
If they check out God Hates Us it should be the live version at Rock Am Ring 2011
What this guy said! Save me is in my opinion the best song on the album.
Save Me is my favorite song of all time. PLEASE
I love the Nightmare album. Mike Portnoy did a good job to satisfy all of us REV-fans.
I think he did The Rev very proud on the Welcome To The Family tour.
I remember seeing an interview with A7X and Portnoy where Portnoy actually asked if The Rev actually wrote the drums and planned on playing them because of how nuts they were.
“Save me” is my favorite song of all time, it’s honoring The Rev, as it was the last song he wrote, and it’s a masterpiece. It’s long, but 100% worth it.
Actually, it was Fiction. Matt has talked about it in interviews. Though Save Me is a fantastic song.
The drumming is awesome on this jam too 🤘
@@ksmith37true.. and Save me still is about the Rev passing, their thought process, raw emotions etc.
I haven't heard this song in 10 years and still know all the words by heart.
Zacky and Syn’s work on the guitars when they play in tandem never fails to floor me.
This is my fav A7X song! Also fun fact its also M Shadows favorite song because the Rev was supposed to sing the majority of it before he passed. R.I.P.
Can we take a moment to appreciate the synchronized head bopping throughout the song? Because this song is a literal bop for that reason lol
the metallica comment was the biggest compliment to them bc they based their sound off of them
My some was born the night the rev died. I saw them in concert a few months later. And they did a great tribute to the rev. He wrote half a song and Matt hade to finish the song and it’s beautiful especially live
This whole album is amazing, The Rev did an amazing job song writing before he passed.
I watch all your reactions. Avenged Sevenfold is the most talented rock band out there. Best group of musicians. Songs I love from them The Stage is one of their best with the best video. Hail to the King, and Nobody. Their hardest song is This Means War and the video follows one of their concerts. It makes you want to lift a car it’s hard af. Please please do This Means War
The Stage is an awesome song! One of my favorites!
God Hates Us does not get the attention that it deserves, it is easily one of my favourite Avenged songs so I would *LOVE* to see you guys react to that!
I saw them in Minneapolis on the Nightmare tour in December 2011. The whole show was dedicated to The Rev. It hit hard because my brother had just died in September. Such a good concert. Black veil brides, asking Alexandria and Hollywood undead opened for them. Perfect concert.
So glad you guys checked this one out! One of my favorites for sure, and I’m glad you liked it!
I love how you both got the "pigeon head" after the solo, its that kind of song! Damn, i remember when 'Nightmare' came out, i listened to the whole album all day every day, such an amazing record!
OMFG, can't wait to see where this song goes with you guys..2:30 in🤣. Banger-ASSSSSS song, especially towards the end🤘🏻. I WISH you 2 would do this entire album to feel the emotion and progression, ESPECIALLY because of what happened during the making of it😢
My Fave A7X song! Hope you enjoy it boys 😊
This song is a CLASSIC!!! And again, (I sound like a broken record) it’s amazing live!!! I’ll send the short videos I recorded from the concert I attended back in October!!! Great reaction!
This is my favorite song!! Not just of all their other songs but all songs. I've been listening to them since they first came out. This song has been dubbed their stairway to heaven by fans. I love the little things that they do in their music like in this one how he says "Gate" and "Awaits" with a little bit of a growl. In a little piece of heaven how they had a whole orchestra and Choir And how you can hear the subtle tone of the violins in the background of that song. They are incredible artists!!
Avenged is known for constantly changing and experimenting with their sound, y’all gonna really enjoy if you dive deep into this band. Synyster Gates is fucking GOATed
This is my all time favourite song. I know every lyric off by heart and listen to it when I’m down to help me feel happy. It’s amazing in my opinion
One of my favorites!! If he hasn't heard Seize the Day yet then you absolutely MUST do a reaction on that one! The video is so damn good too I've lost count of how many times I've watched it over the years. Love that we are getting more A7X from yall!
I couldn't agree more. Seize The Day was the first song I ever hear by them and holds a special place in my heart. I've lost count how many times i have watched the video over the years and always seems to be my go to song from them
@@nitoshashepherd5629It was also the first A7X song I heard. The music video takes me back to my stupid girl high school days when I liked bad boys. 😂🤷♀️
My favorite song from this album
The changes in the song from smooth and melodic to melt your face, is absolutely EPIC 🔥
A7X is a great band, they offer a variety of music styles, as they have gotten older they surely evolved, worth diving into more
#foREVer RIP Jimmy The Rev 🌹
Your reaction when it changes up to heavier, was exactly like mine!
PLEASE MORE NIGHTMARE MUSIC
Love this song.
R.I.P The Rev
“Save me” is a masterpiece of a song and probably the best in the Nightmare album. It’s the raw emotions of the band right after the Rev’s passing. The melody and the lyrics are mind blowing. Also “Fiction” is the last song the Rev created and sang and handed it in to be the last song of the nightmare album 3 days before he passed. And it is the last song of that album. It’s basically him singing goodbye to his friends. Extremely emotional and eerie. FoREVer 🤘
No freakin way!! I was watching some reactions to this song last night and checked to see if Ryker Road had covered it yet. This one of their most underrated songs IMO. It’s easily in my A7x top 5. Yes, more anything from Avenged Sevenfold.
Another great song and reaction. The guitar work in avenger sevenfold is just amazing on every track.
This song holds a special place in my heart. This song got my dad through stage 4 throat cancer. I remember him playing this song almost every day when he was going through his chemo treatments. I am so thankful that he’s still with us. Part of me believes this song helped save him 🤘🏻❤️ thank you guys for doing this song. My favorite reactors doing one of my favorite songs. A great early birthday present :)
Edit: They always do this song live and I cry every time because of my dad
Hell yea guys my favorite reaction Channel as of late yall are the best
Nightmare is the album that introduced me to Avenged Sevenfold, this song is one of my favorite songs by them. You guys made a great choice in reacting to this song, keep up the good work guys
A7X had my highschool weight room and gym head banging back in 2010-2014. Its surprisingly clean lyrics that we got allowed to jam out on the pa
I live in Michigan for a reason... potholes everywhere
This song live is absurd. So good
The synchronized head banging in this video was on point. Haha definitely need to check out more of the older A7X. You might change your mind Kyle. 🤘🏻
Learning that fingerstyle intro on guitar at the moment, not easy
The melodic callback to So Far Away in the beginning just crushed me the first time I heard this.
This tune is f****** badass
This album is so good. It’s been years since I’ve listened to it but every time I hear it I remember how good it was. I would definitely say their best album
In an interview M shadows says that its kind of 2 songs that shouldn't go well together but somehow works
The Rev singing the demo to this is surreal. Well, the whole album is since he wrote the bulk of it.
Got to see this in concert over the summer and they absolutely KILLED IT! Maybe the best concert I’ve been to
The Rev was around to finish writing the whole album. Everything except for So Far Away obviously he was still putting everything he had into and the last song they finished was Fiction which is a true tragedy if and when you listen to it. Matt and Jimmy finished writing the song and shortly after is when the Rev passed so he just never ended up recording any of his parts with that task being taken over by Mike Portnoy as he left Dream Theater.
God hates us is definitely an amazing song so I definitely check it out
And as I mentioned Fiction is an incredible song by them as well but it hits best when you know its 2 things
1. Its a more mellow song focused on drums and piano and
2. That this was the last song the Rev poured everything he had into even with them using a demo voice recording of his that is admittedly a little bad but it was the last thing he ever did for them so they kept it
About Fiction, the Rev didn’t write the song with Matt. Matt’s voice etc come in later when they release the song cause the Rev handed in the demo and died three days later. When the Rev handed in the song to Matt he told him this was to be the last song of the album. That’s why in “So Far Away” Matt sings “a final song, a last request”. The Rev had named it “Death” originally then the band changed the name to Fiction. The song we hear in the album is a mix of the demo version and the studio version to honour the revs last vocals and his last playing.
@@marbella135 thanks I couldn’t remember the exact details off the top of my head but I knew it was along those lines
@@deadboof no problem bro, happy to jog the memory. Take care.
Hell yes!! Listened to these guys heavily in Jr. High and they’ve been in rotation ever since. So pumped! I knew you’d like it.
I was just watching y'all headbang in unison and when Eric was talking about the smooth transitions, and I just said out loud "oh just wait til the second half kicks in". My kid looked at me like I was loopy ;) he's been listening to A7X with me since he was around 4 (I don't censor music). Yes, the unedited versions of songs are definitely the best.
Nightmare theme...but also how a person feels when they've lost a loved one. If I was Matt I'd have been saying God Hates Us .... but I have said that too so, I get the sentiment.
God Hates Us live at the Rock Am Ring 2011. This needs to happen.
Def great band to explore.
This is by far my favorite song of theirs and it's so underrated! I instantly clicked to watch when I saw what this video was. I'll be back after I watch!
One of my top songs OF ALL TIME. I fucking love A7x and this song specifically.
Love classic A7X...Syn on Hail to the King is amazing!
One of my favorite songs in the world! So glad you guys reacted to this one!
Banger song
Yes!!!! As a guitarist I LOVE the into to this.
I just bought that same shirt today!! That’s a weird coincidence. The whole album is awesome. I love nightmare personally and it’s my favorite avenged song.
By far my favorite song from A7F because it's so metallic-esq
Just saw the for the first time this past September and They are awesome live
I cry every time I go to one of their concerts. I've seen them like 6 times now.
Jealous, I saw them in 2011. Need to see them again.
I just love seeing people reacts to songs i like and see their faces when the song hits and see if they had the same feels i did when i heard it the first time
One of my favorite albums is sounding the seventh trumpet. And the songs "warmness on the soul"
OMG SO GLAD YOU ARE REACTING TO AVENGED!
Awesome you’re doing this song this was a great album
Such a banger song!
Beast of a song
Masterpiece album
No one knows what's coming in the middle section lol
Not even 7X fans
Great shit guys
Do more Sevenfold.....
..please
I'm so happy you did this one!! This is not only my favorite A7X song but my favorite song of all.
1:55 goosebumps OMG
"He's an asshole in the best way possible." An *EXCELLENT* description of Syn's guitar playing. It's beautifully brutal, but absolutely impossible to play if you're not a god-level lead guitarist.
There was a time where this band was my number one, I cried when I heard the Rev died.
I still want a deathbat tattoo
I always forget how much I do like this band, LOVED This! 💜💜
Thank you for reacting to one of my favorite songs!
I was so hype when I saw this! Love this song too- pleases my brain because I love sudden changes especially if it fits a message or theme >~
I also very much enjoy Hail To The King. Definitely paints a picture, lyrically.
You should check out Mattel on their new album! In an interview M Shadows stated they took old drum demos the Rev had from their self titled album that he didnt think would go well with the album.
I love this song. I got to see A7X headline with Falling In Reverse opening, great song. And the crowds reaction to this song was magical.
I was so happy when i saw you guys uploaded this. One of my dearest song cuz that was the first a7x solo i've learned. Such a great song!
should definitely listen to the stage from their more recent stuff
As an extreme Avenged fan I'm very happy to see you both dive into more of their stuff. That being said, even if the whole Nightmare album doesn't get covered I understand. I do think that Fiction is one song that should be done for sure. Great job as always!!!!
I got here to the reaction late. I absolutely love A7x and haven't heard this song in awhile. Still gives me chills love you guys and these guys can't wait for the next.
I feel like the two of you would really enjoy the song and music video for "The Stage"
I remember when I was a kid Avenged Sevenfold actually played at my school as some anti bullying thing and it was probably some of the best thing I saw ( at the time) and unfortunately I didn’t have access to internet so I had no idea who they were but if I did I would have been listening to them sooner 🤘🏼
Not a huge A7X fan, but this is, by far, my favorite song of theirs.
You guys should definitely react to their song after life it’s so fucking good and one of my personal favorites 🔥✨
Back half of this song is a masterpiece
I’m praying they just react to this whole album🙏🏼
Love to see a reaction to the new Architects- Seeing Red, you guys will love it
Not ready to die, Tension, MIA, Danger Line
A7X is one of my fav bands, seen them live at least 6 times in Canada. Unreal live
A7x has been my #1 band for the longest time and they always will be just because of how creative their music is, but here recently a newer group called The Warning has recently caught my attention and I’m thoroughly impressed with how good they sound! I will recommend them to anyone has yet to hear them!
This puts me in a similar mind space as So Far Away.
Being a huge fan of the band and this album in particular, I’d love to see y’all do more of nightmare
This was the very first song that got me into A7x
Deffo need to do start to finish of the album. It explores so many different aspects of life and the mentally unwell and how people come to make the decision to take their own life and equally importantly, how it effects those left behind.
The entire Nightmare album is amazing. Buried Alive is definitely my favorite but I still listen to the whole album from start to finish.
A7X has been my favorite metal band for years now. Every album is different yet familiar. Listen to anything off The Stage and you have to listen to The Beast and The Harlot. Honestly any song off City of Evil will blow you both away
This is my favorite A7X album. Nightmare is my #1 fave song by them. I love seeing y'all headbang, especially when you're in perfect unison! 😅😂😊. Bat Country was my introduction to them, and it's wild. So far away is hard because my sister passed around the same time as Rev. So I don't listen to it often. But love the stank faces guys, and when the guitar started going off ...😂😂😂 Great reaction guys.
We NEED you guys to do Fiction, from the Nightmare album. That song is pure beauty.
the entire band is heavily inspired by Metallica which is probably why you get that feeling. the Hail to the King album as a whole is pretty much a tribute to Metallica with songs such as HTTK being similar to Enter Sandman, This Means War being similar to Sad but True, Shepherd of Fire being similar to For Whom the Bell Tolls, and so on.
Amazing song, album and reaction! Can't wait to see them live again in Europe! Please do a reaction to Bullet For My Valentine.
You guys are so adorable. 🥰
Y’all gotta react to the stage
Ahhhhh one of the most amazing on the album. I’m so happy y’all did some A7X! 🖤
Nightmare is my favorite song on the album
