    Basic and simple, just what I needed. I did not find the J-6 intuitive, this definitely helps! Thanks!

      How are you finding the J-6, 6 months later?

    Hi One Finger Synth. This device defeated me for the last 2 days. The user manual is ... well it could be better. After watching your video several times and making notes, I've finally made my first sequence. I'm so grateful. This in the only tutorial I can find on the Internet or TH-cam. You're a legend. Eternally grateful. May your channel continue to grow. B. PS This device has more parameters to set up than a 303. Roland!

    Like someone else asked: could you maybe explain how the units are connected? I have a PO33 and it’s doing my head in that it just doesn’t want to work 😠
    I have Sync Out on the J6 connected to the left side (input) of the PO33. Then the right side (output) of the PO33 goes into the Mix in on the J6.
    I assumed this meant that the PO33 would take the tempo and BPM setting of the J6 but unfortunately that is not the case. What sync mode have you selected on the PO?

    • @OneFingerSynth
      @OneFingerSynth  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      In this video,
      The units are connected with two "3.5mm TRS Cable (Stereo mini cable)".
      I have selected "SY2" on the PO.
      Thank you for watching the video. Have fun!

    Hey sorry I’m coming late to the party, great video! How did you get the hats on the P.O to sound like triplets when it looks like you’re using all 16 steps on a 4/4 sequence? Is there a shuffle function on that one?

      Perhaps you are referring to "swing".

    Sequencer keeps going. If I do one through four and press play or press for twice to supposedly stop it it keeps going to 5 6 7 and 8 instead of repeating only one through four. What am I doing wrong?

    I'm noticing for some of the Sounds the volume is really low, barely audible even at full volume. I tried tweaking Filter/Resonance and Attack/Decay, the only knob that seems to help is Reverb which doesn't produce nearly the same sound as in this video for Sound 1-2. Suggestions? Sound 1-1 works fine, 1-2 thru 1-4 are inaudible, 1-5 is fine again, no idea why this is happening.

    • @OneFingerSynth
      @OneFingerSynth  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Restore it to factory settings and try again. If that does not work, contact Roland.
      ----------------------------------------
      Restoring the factory default settings
      1. While holding down the [HOLD] button, turn on the power.
      2. Press the [CHORD] button.
      3. When all buttons are blinking, turn the power of the J-6 off and then on again.

    • @geraldclark5812
      @geraldclark5812 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@OneFingerSynth I did a factory restore with no luck, then discovered the cause, although it's still a little strange. I disconnected the J-6 from my Scarlett 6i6 audio interface and plugged headphones directly into the J-6 and the problem was gone. Then I messed around with the 3.5mm connector that was hooked up to the Scarlett, and found that if I DON'T push it in all the way it aligns the TRS rings better with the J-6 and voilà, full sound. Why this problem occurs with some sounds and not others is not something I care to figure out at this time.
      I would say that the construction of the J-6 is pretty cheap, and this issue with my audio connection reinforces that opinion. I tried connecting with other cables and to other audio devices (Moukey mixer, Hart Just Mixer), the Moukey had the same issue, the Hart surprisingly did not (the problem occurred with other cables). The J-6 is a very small and lightweight device, and I'm used to cheap construction, but this is the bottom of the barrel IMO. The buttons feel awful as well. Definitely won't be buying any of the other Aira models going forward.

      @el_chingon_brian ปีที่แล้ว

      @@geraldclark5812 Maybe this helps with the issues you’re having. I have an arturia drumbrute and a J6. I run the aux out from drum machine to J6 Aux in. Then I run a second aux from headphone out on J6 to a Marshall Bluetooth speaker (it’s one of those Marshall head looking speakers that’s pretty loud). But the J6 and drum machine are at the same volume because ultimately the volume is controlled by the Marshall speaker, but each device (drum machine and J6) has its own volume button to fine tweak it.
      I don’t remember what I did at first, but I remember it was messing with the loudness of the J6. Like it was low in the mix and this setup fixed it.
