I was hoping these new factions would be really mediocre and not of any interest to me. Sadly for my bank account I was wrong.

My LGS just posted that wave 2 will be on sale on the 30th of November. This is in Ireland, but previously the shop has released every wave on the official FFG release dates
I love the different paint styles for the vulture droid and the Delta
Crazy_ Skylord still need an Azure Angel paint job for Plo Koon.
The ion cloud looks cool. Obstacles are now coming in varieties, asteroid, debris cloud and now ion cloud. Taking an ion token when passing though or landing in the ion cloud makes good sense.
This has got me back into X wing (and this channel) after a year and a half of having dropped the game
Looks like the rigged cargo shoot thing would probably be a spare parts canister like Obe uses in the dog fight with slave I in attack of the clones. Might be to do with removing locks?
Exactly what I was thinking.
However, we don't know if it will operate like the traditional Rigged Cargo Chute. I'm eager to find out.

Welcome back home. Hope you enjoyed Japan. Woo, Republic! Very hyped for this faction. Especially the Delta-7 finally. No idea what folks wrote below, just going to cover a few questions you brought up. Starting with the squadron pack... So the two pilots on the top right are for the Torrent. No purple evades, and they would be for the i4 and i5 pilots. Jedi Knight is the only generic Delta. Got Obi-Wan and 3 other named jedi. Quite certain Plo Koon is the other i5. That new red token looks like an Agility arrow, so likely it lowers agility. That is indeed 2/2/5 on the Torrent. Basically a slightly better Z-95. For the Delta-7 pack... Anakin and 3 other jedi. Ahsoka Tano, Barriss Offee, and Luminara Unduli. Very excited for all those gals. Given the arrangement of the spread, likely that far right card is a Force upgrade. Delta should only have Force, Astromech, Config and Mod slots. Now imagine that dial with an R4. As for the ARC, nothing much to add there. Again with the spread arrangement, expect that far right card to be a Talent, and my bet is the faction theme talent. Wish they would have shown more cards, but as is can get a good idea of what everything is doing and I am quite pleased. Very eager to get these in hand.
Do you think the arc 170 will come with a tail gunner, I started recently on xwing and I dont have a conversion kit, it would suck if the arc doesnt come with a tailgunner or a better replacement for it
@@MaNU7908 I would say it is guaranteed to include tail gunner.

My bet for the Weapons disabled token in the ARC is for the R2 astromech... Recharge shield and recieve the token

I hope it is a tail gunner with different art as well. Or a new kind of clone tailgunner with a minor new hability
Glad to have you back! It strikes me as really odd that The Senate is appearing in the ARC expansion as crew. Are they not doing LAAT gunships as a cheap Republic shuttle? (I really want LAATs) It's also odd to me that they have a re-release of an Imperial and Scum ship but don't appear to include Rebel cards in the ARC expansion. Likely due to what you said about the expansion focusing on 1 faction, so that's fine I guess.
I think the ARC is actually the best option. The dropship can be used to inject the faction with some Jedi Crew, while the ARC is purely a clone platform. If he doesn't work with Jedi (which is what I'm predicting) having him on a platform that doesn't use them makes the most sense to me.

Glad to see your back Nick. Super excited to join the Republic myself. I wish they'd give us some insight on what to expect on costing. I really would love to know the limit of how many Delta's we can field with each of those configs. My guss is probably 3 with 7B, and maybe 4 generics with the other config and nothing else perhaps? Hard to quantify some of what these bad boys can do.
Looking forward to your next preview on the CIS. Lots of interesting stuff going on for the Vulture droid from what little info we have.
Agree on costing info. I’m finding the lack of costing and upgrade details is more frustrating than only giving us the low res images. Still don’t have the wave 2 costings
@@bardylon hopefully those come soon. Wave 2's release is imminent and hotly anticipated, so the lack of slots and points there is particularly annoying.

Im SUPER excited for the faction sets. The Torrent fighters' model looks nice. And super excited to get to play them. Im also super excited to see the mechanics of the new factions.
The 2 pilots on the top right of the bulk pack don't have purple evade actions. I'm guessing they're V-19 pilots. Good stuff, I can't wait to get Wave III!
Good spot. I think you're right.
The two ships to the right of the jedi knight in the bulk pack are V-19's, as we can see the base on the model is ps5, and the highest visible PS is 3 on the spread for the V-19
Oddball better be a V-19 Pilot. He was my favorite clone pilot in the show.

He is, at Initiative 5. In the article you see his cardboard in one of the pictures.
Wow you sound a bit jetlagged. I hope you had fun in Japan. :) We get the Z-95 without having to buy a bulk pack or cross faction now... Whoot! :)
While I agree low-res images are horrible to deal with (I was a graphic designer that moved into software development), I think that it's actually "Fun" to guess what it may be. You see all sorts of strange ideas on reddit and the forums. But yes - as a content creator, it's absolutely HORRIBLE. But as a gamer excited about what's coming out, I actually enjoy all the speculation.

I personally think it's a really bad look for the game/s when the ONLY source of information for a card is a skewed and pixelated image.
The headache I get after trying to decipher the images FFG has been releasing tells me you have an interesting idea of what is enjoyable.
7:25 I think you were talking about top row of the spread, far right two? If so those look to be V-19 Torrent pilots.
I'm not sure how I feel about the new factions now we actually have something revealed.
Although it was nice to see a Conner net with the Tie Striker. If you only bought Imperial ships in 1st Edition, you never picked up the Conner net template. Also a bomblet generator template, but they came late in the lifecycle and they are essentially they same shape and size as a proton bomb or seismic charge.
I am almost certain that the purple actions are white standard actions or spend one force charge to perform that action as a free action.
I am really looking forward to flying the Grand Rupblic myself and can't wait to see more.
There has been some chat on the XWing TMG subreddit that that red arrow token has something to do with lowering agility, as it looks a lot like the agility icon.
Yup that's a good point! My only concern with that is the design is very similar to tractor tokens.
Im quite upset the ARC 170 doesnt come with rebel pilots. I just started now with second edition, arc 170 is the ship I like the most, and I would have liked to fly it with rebels, I guess Ill have to wait for a reprint
I think I might pick up the Republic and fly them. Right now I fly the Empire and I will fly the First Order when wave two comes out so thematically I think the Republic will be nice since the Republic became the Empire and the Empire became the First Order

Just wondering, how many factions do you guys consider to be too many? The fan hype about the Old Republic era has me wondering
From a game design point of view, more factions isn't really all that problematic. What is a problem is each time new factions get added FFG are further dividing their market. I don't think this is going to cripple the game overnight, but I think 7 is PLENTY for the time being, and it should be years before more even get a consideration.
@@HairyNick I agree that we don't need more at the moment. I think that it will be interesting seeing how seven different factions use a single generic upgrade.

Nope. It looks like FFG are favoring separate releases for ships on different factions rather than all encompassing expansions (that might cost more), which given how faction focused a lot of people tend to be, I think that's a good thing.
We can't really tell from this image, but you'll notice there are 6 pilots and 4 double sided template, which means if we are lucky we will get extra copies of the generic pilot cards and templates. This means we can interchange the models. :)
The new red tokens look like the green evade symbol. What if it's a condition token to roll one less evade?
That's what I'm thinking it is. A bit curious how its going to be applied though.
