    Before anyone else comments “Cedar Fair has majority control” the company won’t be the same ever again, and this video is also to reflect on their past decade or so.

    Cedar Fair will definitely be missed but I totally agree with you on all of those great points. This was a really good video!

    From Cedar Fair's perspective, what sense does it make to put investments into these small parks? The parks are already profitable, and they're getting the attendance numbers they want. Obviously it sucks if those are your home park, but I think blaming Cedar Fair for not putting millions of dollars into places they won't see it back just doesn't make much sense. We saw six flags try putting a new attraction into every park, every year and that didn't really help them at all.
    In my opinion almost all of your points just come down to money, and yeah from an enthusiast perspective these might seem weird, but you gotta remember they're a business at the end of the day.

      Thanks for your common sense. It may be annoying for people whose home park is Michigan’s Adventure or Valley Fair, but those parks are profitable at the end of the day. No investment is necessary unless a downturn continues for them

    I’ve heard from a pretty reliable source that cedar fair wants to stop working with b&m after fury’s crack, leviathans lift motor, gatekeepers chain, and them being quite expensive

    • @marcusmcgraw3519

      That’s kind of dumb given the fact that B&Ms are generally more reliable than other manufacturers, and they’ve also given Cedar Fair some of the best rides in their history. Wouldn’t surprise me given how they did Intamin though

    Cedar Fair cares about its reputation because it realizes how much better it is than Six Flags. Much better experience and rides. It is going about it the wrong way, but its intentions are much more in the right place, unlike 6 Flags which just wants to squeeze every dollar out of its guests

    Actually I think Zamperla was the only real option to _modify_ the ride. It is considered known that B&M offered a completely new ride only. Red Force cost $103M.

    I agree. Cedar Fair parks are well run, but lack any real personality save for Knotts and Kings Island.

  • @TheLewistownTrainspotter8102

    Cedar Fair's technically not going away. Legacy Six Flags is going away, and Legacy Cedar Fair is rebranding itself with the Six Flags name.

    • @zerogcoasters

      True, although the company won’t be the same from here on out. A lot will change internally with this merger, apart from the name itself

  • @stampynate0007

    Idk why they dropped the cedar fair name. The Six Flag name kinda sucks

    • @MattMcIrvin

      Cedar Fair may have a better reputation with enthusiasts, but Six Flags is a far more recognized brand, probably because Six Flags put it directly on nearly all of their parks. In management terms the merged company will really be much more Cedar Fair than Six Flags, but they used the name that people know.

  • @kennethgustavison1812

    But it's not like when they dropped the Paramount's prefix on all the parks after that purchase. They never renamed any park CedarFair's ... from that multi-park purchase or when they purchased individual parks, so CedarFair's Worlds of Fun and CedarFair's Canada's Wonderland will not exactly be missed. We'll just have to wait and see whether long term vision prevails or the new Six Flags is full of money vampires.

      I can’t see how. Six Flags took out single rider lines to force people to buy flash passes. That’s one of the most predatory tactics I’ve ever seen in my life

    • @alecscheerer2329

      @marcusmcgraw3519 So did Cedar Fair for fast lane. Btw, you're not forced to buy flash pass or fast lane. You can simply just wait in the regular line. So saying people are "forced" to buy something is just ridiculous.

    • @marcusmcgraw3519

      @@alecscheerer2329 you’re forced to buy if you want to get ahead. You used to not have to do that. And cedar fair only did that cuz 6 flags did it first. 6 flags is the problem, whether you’d like to admit it or not

    • @alecscheerer2329

      @marcusmcgraw3519 It's like that at most parks. I'm not sure what your point is here. You don't get things for free. If you don't want to pay, then don't pay and wait in the regular queue.

      @@alecscheerer2329 why would I wait in the regular queue when I had an option to not do that? This isn’t that hard of a concept. Not waiting an hour for a ride by myself when I don’t have to, would you do the same? Of course not. Your critique is weak
