1312 corresponds to the letters "ACAB" from the alphabet, which stands for "All Cops Are Bastards". It's a common slogan which makes the point that policing as an institution makes it impossible for there to be good police. It's used by some advocates against police brutality and also by people who are culturally aligned against policing like punks and anarchists.

@@parkeryancey7512one of the earliest Bionicle commercials says the story takes place in “the future past” so that’s definitely the aesthetic they were going for and they pulled it off very well
I know Greg hated the Vahki, but these animations made me absolutely love them. Not sure if my brain could process the 1984 vibes back then, but damn do they send chills down my spine now. TRUST IN TURAGA DUME
It's even crazier bc when you think about it, the Vahki really did _need_ to be this unforgiving, since the Matoran's work was keeping Mata Nui running
Interesting they made the Vahki "breath" when standing idle, even exherting frozen particles when in the cold. I wonder why that is when they're purely mechanical automotas? I'd argue that removing that aspect and having them forbiddingly stand completely still like a gargoyle watchman would be more imposing!
Considering the way the scene was done, just standing there quietly like a statue, Vahki might have looked like the animators were just too lazy to animate him. Although such a scene, in other respects, is more consistent with the lore than the one that ultimately appears in the animation.
I think they just wanted to show that it was really cold in that location and that’s the easiest way without having it literally snow. It’s probably some sort of machine exhaust
I absolutely LOVE these animations! They're a big inspiration for my work on Metru Nui over at Red Star Games, and I'm so thankful that you cleaned them up!

It's a number of factors. Only the weapons were different from set to set, the lower legs and heads were the only new pieces, the gear function was exactly the same as the rahkshi and matoran only a year prior, the collectibles weren't even new, arms had no articulation, barely even shown in the movie, and individually they weren't much of a threat to a Toa the way the Rahi, Kal, Rahkshi, Piraka, Barraki, Makuta, and Skrall were. Or even the Bohrok. Lewa had lasting mental damage from the Krana. The Vahki's staff effects just wore off in a couple hours.
@@cyanimation1605 Also, Greg Farshtey hated them. He didn't like any "horde"-type characters, but the Vahki seem to have particularly gotten his goat for some reason. It's why they ultimately end up going out like chumps and don't play a role in the story at all, even after getting a clear plot hook in the first Hordika-era book.
Funny how most of the shorts get some kind of showcase of the Vahki personalities or specializations. Bordakh - Gets to show off the Staff of Loyalty by brainwashing that Matoran. Also, Bordakh love the chase, so we get to see them lying in ambush. Keerakh - Said to be "phantom" Vahki due to rarely appearing to their victims before they strike. We barely get to see the Keerakh and it's clear the victim only saw it out of the corner of his eye. Nuurakh - Guards highly valuable sites, and has to sit still for long periods and play cautiously as a result, which often results in outbursts due to their programmed aggressiveness. We get to see one such outburst, and that definitely looks like a fire pit. Rorzakh - Said to be the most determined and loyal of Vahki, to the point of pursuing outright suicidal objectives. Most of the short is propaganda slogans playing through the Vahki's head. Vorzakh - Said to be the most destructive of all Vahki, and known for causing more damage than any fleeing perpetrator could. We get to see one such rampage. Zadakh - The strongest and most physical of the Vahki--this one gets a big ol' MIGHT MAKES RIGHT slogan, and opens its appearance by smashing through a wall.
one might wonder what the hell was wrong with Nuparu for programming personalities into these things, but if you interpret it as a similar artificial intelligence defect like the one that led to the MU’s inhabitants developing personalities and wills of their own we get a neat george lucas poetry moment
Hey Essenger. Some random trivia out of left field for you. "Operation Room" from the Armored Core V soundtrack sounds almost identical to the final movement of Wall of History--the big marching-beat section. If you ever wanted to remake the latter, sampling the former might be of help. Hope my brainrot proves useful to you.
It's disturbing how Metru Nui suffers every form of the so-called philosophies of an oppressive government. ....But then I remembered the guy who was in charge of the city at the time wasn't even the real deal.
Oh no, it's worse, actually. Teridax replaced Dume well after the creation of the Rahi, Dume was just genuinely like that. Which probably made it a whole lot easier for Matoran to believe that the imposter version was real.
With how much audio you're remastering, im curious. Are you considering doing the audio from the gamecube game? All of those songs are great, especially the main menu theme
