BIONICLE Vahki Online Animations - 4K (Restored Audio)

- I couldn't find a super high res upload of this and the original audio was so compressed so I separated the stems of Killing Machines and chopped together an edit that sounds as close as possible to the original (It seems they used an alternate variation that was never released since some parts don't exist in the original mix.) Enjoy!
I'm working on three new videos currently for the channel so don't worry I've got more content coming :) - บันเทิง
Ah yes, the time Bionicle decided to be literally 1984, now in glorious HD!
AND, as a movie buff 1:47 is straight out of the opening scene of the 1927 silent masterpiece Metropolis! Even the moving pistons are ripped off that iconic masterpiece!
There are no Dark Hunters in Metru Nui. Here we are safe. Here we are free.
Ah yes, that time Bionicle decided to showcase the horrors of an oppressive police state
Imagine an alternate timeline where we kept getting more of these
they should have kept templar studios fr
That's a better timeline.
Imagine even just one more Templar Bionicle game, one set in Metru Nui would've been sick!
When you know that the bird is a spy for the government you're officially in too deep.
"bird"....
Lego: Hey so we just need some 30-second commercials for robot cops
Templar: Make kids distrust the government. Got it.
Lego: No just some fun little cartoons to promote a loyalty program on our website
Templar: Loyalty you say? Loyalty to capitalism. captions from 1984. Simple enough. on it.
Lego: No we're just selling boxes of these discs with codes on them
Templar: Codes like 1312. Understood.
seriously though I have scoffed at "To Protect and Serve" every time I've heard it because of this.
What is 1312?
"Obedience is happiness"
Words of every oppressor in history.
Every time I watch these animations I get an incredibly strong urge to host a TTRPG session set in Metru Nui
IDK if you've heard about it but there's a pretty cool fanmade TTRPG set largely in Metru Nui made by Red Star Games :}
You should check out Red Star Games, they're developing a TTRPG based around Bionicle called Doronai Nui
@@TheRealFrambo Big thanks man, I'm going to digest it NOW
I wish the government agent profiling me were a cool spider with jaw-mounted disk-launching play feature.
Imma be honest the Vahki are a really underrated villain. Fuckin secret police in Bionicle.
I half expected you to sneak the Ahkmou meme version in somehow lol
Always loved how the Vahki looked. Those big duel weapons always made them seem so badass
For real, vahki designs were solidly built and looked awesome!
They’re too underrated.
Turaga Dume to the Vahki: "Execute Order 66."
Vakhi: “It will be done, my lord.”
The song is still peak and fire
fr it goes sooo hard for no reason at all and it's so good
It's even crazier bc when you think about it, the Vahki really did _need_ to be this unforgiving, since the Matoran's work was keeping Mata Nui running
implying Dume Teridax was letting them do the Mata Nui work anyway
Vahki: Surrender or run!
Vahki in 2005: Surrender or perish!
I love the overall art direction of metru nui
There's something really unique about it that can't just be replicated easily
I love how its a mix of cyberpunk but also somehow of early history's heavy stone and monumental aesthetic, making it seem a meld of future and past at the same time (something I always loved about Bionicle generally)
@@parkeryancey7512one of the earliest Bionicle commercials says the story takes place in “the future past” so that’s definitely the aesthetic they were going for and they pulled it off very well
Interesting they made the Vahki "breath" when standing idle, even exherting frozen particles when in the cold. I wonder why that is when they're purely mechanical automotas? I'd argue that removing that aspect and having them forbiddingly stand completely still like a gargoyle watchman would be more imposing!
Considering the way the scene was done, just standing there quietly like a statue, Vahki might have looked like the animators were just too lazy to animate him. Although such a scene, in other respects, is more consistent with the lore than the one that ultimately appears in the animation.
Maybe it's their disk launcher's ventilation port?
even machines "breathe", could be their exhaust fans
I think they just wanted to show that it was really cold in that location and that’s the easiest way without having it literally snow. It’s probably some sort of machine exhaust
It reminded me of a lurking predator.
I absolutely LOVE these animations! They're a big inspiration for my work on Metru Nui over at Red Star Games, and I'm so thankful that you cleaned them up!
And here i thought the "restored audio" was another AI audio meme. But no. Genuine beauty regardless. Nice work my guy!
That's weird, I don't think you restored the audio in its entirety. I didn't hear "'Surrender or run' my ASS" once in this.
Shoutout to Bionicle for teaching me to recognize oppressive government practices 😤👌
I like how Keerakh... Does literally nothing.
Just like the cops in my town!
He does something. He looks _cool_

"He's just standing there... MENACINGLY!"
God i love the vahkis so much. Thanks for this!
thank you for remastering my favorite piece of bionicle website media
wait, WAIT, that sound that was in my head since the early 2000 was this one ??!!!
So glad to ear that !
bro ngl- hearing all the tracks in high-res feels way to nice haha. awesome job on the remasters dude!
The movie does not do a good job at showing how much of a dystopia metru nui really is
Always liked the subtle remixes of "Killing Machines" that the 6 videos would introduce
Nuurakh's and Vorzakh's being my personal favs
i love bordakh’s so much
Ah, Orwellian nightmares. My favorite kids toy subject.
If someone you knew disappeared, no they didn't. There was never anyone named Mavrah.
i always thought the vahki were underrated despite how cool they are.
really great to see a restored audio version!
It's a number of factors. Only the weapons were different from set to set, the lower legs and heads were the only new pieces, the gear function was exactly the same as the rahkshi and matoran only a year prior, the collectibles weren't even new, arms had no articulation, barely even shown in the movie, and individually they weren't much of a threat to a Toa the way the Rahi, Kal, Rahkshi, Piraka, Barraki, Makuta, and Skrall were. Or even the Bohrok. Lewa had lasting mental damage from the Krana. The Vahki's staff effects just wore off in a couple hours.
And their secondary color was grey. More of it than the Metru had.
@@cyanimation1605 Also, Greg Farshtey hated them. He didn't like any "horde"-type characters, but the Vahki seem to have particularly gotten his goat for some reason. It's why they ultimately end up going out like chumps and don't play a role in the story at all, even after getting a clear plot hook in the first Hordika-era book.
Keerakh breath fog goes so hard ngl
Finally somebody decided to fix the audio, these animations were the shit
That time LEGO decided to tell a story about fascism... Good memories!
They did it actually again last year with Ninjago's villain faction Imperium. I think that's even more on the nose than what they did with the Vahki.
@@Makutros
My favorite scene from _Ninjago Dragons Rising_ was when Empress Beatrix sent the Ninja to the concentration camp for a shower!
Thank you so much for singlehandedly keeping this part of our childhoods alive
Funny how most of the shorts get some kind of showcase of the Vahki personalities or specializations.
Bordakh - Gets to show off the Staff of Loyalty by brainwashing that Matoran. Also, Bordakh love the chase, so we get to see them lying in ambush.
Keerakh - Said to be "phantom" Vahki due to rarely appearing to their victims before they strike. We barely get to see the Keerakh and it's clear the victim only saw it out of the corner of his eye.
Nuurakh - Guards highly valuable sites, and has to sit still for long periods and play cautiously as a result, which often results in outbursts due to their programmed aggressiveness. We get to see one such outburst, and that definitely looks like a fire pit.
Rorzakh - Said to be the most determined and loyal of Vahki, to the point of pursuing outright suicidal objectives. Most of the short is propaganda slogans playing through the Vahki's head.
Vorzakh - Said to be the most destructive of all Vahki, and known for causing more damage than any fleeing perpetrator could. We get to see one such rampage.
Zadakh - The strongest and most physical of the Vahki--this one gets a big ol' MIGHT MAKES RIGHT slogan, and opens its appearance by smashing through a wall.
one might wonder what the hell was wrong with Nuparu for programming personalities into these things, but if you interpret it as a similar artificial intelligence defect like the one that led to the MU’s inhabitants developing personalities and wills of their own we get a neat george lucas poetry moment
BABE, WAKE UP!! Essenger (Bionicle) JUST POSTED
Bionicle but it came out in 1984
Terminators but designed to be CRAB PEOPLE
The Vahki are so freakin cool
Hell yes, you don't ever disappoint🤘
1984 in high res lets go
IVE BEEN HOPING YOU’D DO THIS ONE DAY THANK YOU!
Metru nui is just the world according to scandroid and circle of dust
Finally a version with clean audio!
jeez this is some George Orwell shit right here and i love it
With how much audio you're remastering, im curious. Are you considering doing the audio from the gamecube game? All of those songs are great, especially the main menu theme
Anyone else noticed that Metronui has a lot of "Metropolis" (the movie/book) references?
THATS WHY HES THE GOAT
THE GOAATTTTT
Hey Essenger. Some random trivia out of left field for you.
"Operation Room" from the Armored Core V soundtrack sounds almost identical to the final movement of Wall of History--the big marching-beat section. If you ever wanted to remake the latter, sampling the former might be of help. Hope my brainrot proves useful to you.
i still think, the actual Turaga Dume should've been a villain. if not the main villain for 2004.
Vahki Police Brutality
these go so incredibly hard how did I never see them??
You had to earn points by buying kanoka discs to unlock them
This is excellent work and sorely needed! Have those background JPGs been cleaned up? They seem less chunky than I remember.
i redid a couple of the ones that appeared in the movies
Nice!
It's disturbing how Metru Nui suffers every form of the so-called philosophies of an oppressive government.
....But then I remembered the guy who was in charge of the city at the time wasn't even the real deal.
Oh no, it's worse, actually. Teridax replaced Dume well after the creation of the Rahi, Dume was just genuinely like that. Which probably made it a whole lot easier for Matoran to believe that the imposter version was real.
PEAK
WE GETTING OUT OF METRU NUI WITH THIS ONE!!!!
Power track I is great but I'm not sure why they never used the other two for promo material.
Goddamn Vahki bellends
Pride in the Elite. Serve and protect Turaga Dume.
ever noticed it never says they were meant to protect the matoran
S u r r e n d e r O r R u n
omg... this is fuckin awsome!!!!
wish we can see bionicle g3 in the 2025!!!!
That would make me cry tears of joy
@@docterzero1503 so do I!!!!
Bionicle shows how cops work, of course they are not as competent as vahki and way more brutal
TURAGA DUME IS WATCHING YOU
I love the vahki but why do they run like phoebe
9 years ago someone made a Vahki Mix - which is my favourite version of Killing Machines, it seems to include the missing sections you speak of however the audio isn't AS good as it is here, but it's still fairly clean:
th-cam.com/video/Q1IEeU1y-W0/w-d-xo.html
One of the main difficult edits I had to make was for the bordakh mix when the matoran appears, In the animation it doesn’t include that synth line overtop of it so i had to use a variety of phase removal and manual edits, it’s not perfect but the average listener probably couldn’t tell
Six reasons to never visit Metru Nui.

and people wonder why I grew up into a communist lmao
Bionicle communism be like
More like Bionicle authoritarianism.
@@Bionickpunk that Ta-Metru part "a busy matoran is a happy matoran" is literally Stahanovism like in the Soviet Union. But you are right thoo
All Vahki Are Bad
Skakdi's lifes matter!
@@marcellsz9990 the skakdi got did real dirty tbh they were a peaceful race and spiriah did horrible experiments on them that turned them all into monsters and then unleashed the visorak on their whole island
@@essengerbionicle yes but also they got insanely good powers too. Like Avak prison power or Reidak power of adaptation. No wonder they managed to defeate the Toa Nuva
I can unironically see this as a PG version of ACAB that could go past the radar lol
