Great segment on Op Amps thank you! I have the Burson, Sparkos and Staccato Audio op amps we don’t hear of them very often, but they are really worth a try.

Wonder what happened to comparisons with the Stuccato discrete Op Amps they were highly hyped a few years ago. They were found to be superior to Sparkos and Bursons in the Kinki Studio EX M1+ Integrated Amp and Passion for sound preferred the Stuccato in the Burson Composer DAC.

Sparkos op amps worked beautifully in my Fosi amps. Running a six channel active open baffle rig and with these op amps it has a smooth top end and very articulate bass.

Just a tid-bit, Burr Brown is a Texas Instruments company.

Hey Ed , I have seen 8802 on Alli Express and they are class a and they look like the sparkos op amps for $45 . I was wondering if you have heard of them?

The Achilles Heel of the Cyan 2 is the switching arrangement. On the other hand, the true NOS architecture of this DAC renders is a perfect match with HQ Player ($300 USD). When Redbook or Hi Res PCM content is upsampled to DSD and shaped by HQP's 7th order modulators and filters, it elevates the Cyan 2 to another level - well beyond its NOS performance. Initially I was skeptical, but no more.

Loved the video, Ed! Well done. One thing it might be helpful to point out in the beginning is the difference between single and dual opamps. Folks need to make sure they know what they have in order to choose the right replacement. Dual for dual and single for single. Keep up the great work my friend!

I don't know, Bluetooth, led lights, remote control... etc. Somehow don't fit into the context of turntables. Maybe it would be a great solution to get a young listener into the world of vinyl. As for me, I prefer simple turntables.

Great review. Incidentally, only the white and green filters use the full processing power - i.e. all of the "taps" in the filters that Rob Watts designed - his view as designer is that if your system is good you should in theory prefer the white filter. One of the nice things about Rob is that he interacts quite a lot with Chord users, especially on the Head-Fi forum threads for Chord products he designed. Also, despite the designer, Rob Watts, steadfastly saying the included SMPS wall wart is "perfect" for the Qutest, many Qutest owners report dividends from moving to a linear power supply instead. I added an sbooster linear power supply and it has an incredibly positive effect on the Qutest. You should give an external power supply a try if you do get a Qutest.

what a cute turntable love led lights on it .I think it would be ok for a starter one how is the Bluetooth on it ? The AT 3600l now has a new stylus the AT 3600e haven't listen to one yet ? had to buy AT 3600l cause I was cleaning around my table and snaped my stylus off not thing to remove the head shell before hand, silly move. just because of cost factor of my other cartridge being around $150 for a new stylus

Hi Ed, wasn’t sure how to reach you… I have a line on a pair of Energy 22.3 speakers at a reasonable price. I currently have a pair of Energy 22 Reference Connoisseurs with rebuilt tweeters that sound terrific but based on your experience with your 22.2 speakers, I’m tempted by the 22.3 pair. Do you think the 22.3s are a step up from my connoisseur’s? They use the same tweeter but seem to have upgraded woofers… thanks for any input you may have.

Most reviewers do not talk about timbre, the intrinsic sound quality of REAL instruments...that should be of the highest order. I've auditioned several DAC's and most of them are missing accuracy of timbre. My two cents!

I was hoping with your suggestion of the Wharfedale Diamond 12.4 Speakers you might be able to give us a side by side pro's & cons. Especially at lower listening levels . By the way on the Wharfedale Diamond 12.4 Speakers do they play just as good at lower levels ? Thanks

Great video & a nice little find. Question for you - I'm looking for something to replace my vintage Pioneer SX-1280 while it's in the shop (AGAIN!!!) which I push my front bus A/V system Bose 901s with a sub. If I get a 48v 10A power supply & roll some of the better Op Amps (suggestions? - don't mind spending as much as I did for the amp or more to get it to sound warm & big!) do you think it's up to the job temporarily for a few months. You know how power hungry those 901s can be! After that I'd probably us it on my desktop. It's such a cool little fun amp.

If I get the EVO150 it would be driving Salk HT2-TL speakers (that you probably never heard of). It's a MTM configuration with a ribbon tweeter. If they sound bright it would be OK since my old ears sound a bit dull.

I subscribed yesterday, hoping to help the channel grow and help you get better gear to review, like the TEAC PE-505, TN-55B and the HA-507 balanced class A headphone amp. 2 Out of 3 isn't bad. Wow. Didn't expect it to see results so quickly. I think I'm going to go buy a Powerball ticket now!
