Just picked this up and spent about four hours with it. Y’all did a stellar job of making the UI intuitive and flexible. So much variation! I’m kind of missing a range of hi-hat closed to open via maybe three or four midi notes. I haven’t quite nailed that down yet - it may exist. I’m also having a tough time reeling in the crashes - it all feels quite shrill and short. I’m guessing I fat fingered the one shot setting! Super impressed, y’all. Thanks for a rad product.
Thank you! really glad you're enjoying MINDst. Keep in mind that you can create a velocity split in the hi hat between tip/shank articulations, that way you will get a much more detailed hi hat range.
Hey Chris - also notice that in the "Map" window you can configure a note for each level of HH open (both in tip and shank) and you can also assign a CC to control it via V-Drums mode.
Absolutely, you can use the MOD Wheel in v-drums mode which you can range with the graph. In the map there are notes for each of the opening levels that you can set up too.@@ChrisMochinskiMusic
The odd thing I find about this instrument is that if you listen to it, the difference to other drum samplers sounds subtle. But then you do a direct comparison listening to most other drum samples and they legit sound dead in comparison, just identical looping sounds. Pretty mindblowing really
The devil is in the details :) There are a lot of drum samplers out there but we made sure this one stands out! Thank you, really happy to hear you're enjoying MINDst.
I am in the same situation as Johnny. My eDrums kit has 4 toms and the default Mindst kit has only 3. Is there a way to add additional drums/components??
I have trouble of doing the multi out in Logic Pro X. The groups is sending the signal correctly in my mixer section in logic but when I do all mics I only hear the room and overhead sound. Do you have a workaround that ? Thanks !
Hi, How do I play this with my edrums? My floor tom doesn't have sound when I hit it and my high tom is set to crash. How do I configure this? Thanks you!
Definitely go and check out our sound demos: soundcloud.com/modalics/sets/mindst-drums We're pretty confident they'll match up rather well against other companies software and plugins. :)
I can't see any kit replacement, add or subtract features. Like simply having atleast three rack toms and two floor Tom's. Why only a simple 5 piece kit. It's 2023. Sorry. I'll stick with superior drummer 3. It's called superior for a reason I guess.
Yes. But - it's a huge kit. One of the deepest ever recorded with over 50,000 samples. Check out some of the sound demos to see how much variance can be achieved with just the one kit: soundcloud.com/modalics/sets/mindst-drums
When you order a live drummer to a studio, he wil usually bring one kit. Yet, it would be expected that alternative snares and toms would be introduced later, hopefully soon
@@Modalics right, I get that, but I can see this becoming the cliché default kit that everyone uses, and they will all sound like “oh, those are MINDst drums”
We tested it thoroughly with TD-50's and we even have a mapping preset setup for it - but can't say we dove into the positional detection part of it. I'd love to know more about it, our snare is fully sampled in 3 zones and each zone can be mapped independantly so I'm guessing it will work like a charm if each position on the snare can be mapped to a seperate MIDI note.
Only sticks! We will most likely release a brushes expansion in the future... however - there's a ton of detail in the lower velocity layers so if you're looking for a light/jazzy feel with sticks it can totally do that.
We will add a pretty awesome sequencer soon in an update. We're also working on kit expansions and better compatibility with E-Kits. We're far from done with MINDst :)
@@ryancoulombe1429 Usually we don't charge for updates. We will only do so for adding more kit pieces which is an actual expansion to the sound pallette. If we improve MINDst Drums sequencing capabilities it will most likely be a free update.
Absolutely stellar work! The bleeds and room variables are just amazing.
Thank you for this!
Thank you! We're happy to hear you're enjoying MINDst Drums :) We'll soon release a pretty cool update for it as well.

Can you have, say, four settings for hat on a custom map?

Great tutorial for the first time adopter of MINDst Drums (like me). Today I installed MINDst and am really enjoying the tools here. Thanks!

Just Got the Modalics Black Friday Bundle. Should be great addition to my Cubase. Thanks for tutorial 🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙
Thank you for your purchase! If you need anything you can write to us @ info@modalics.com
that bleeding feature is really cool
Yeah! it's super important too.. one of the best ways to get your kit sounding organic.
I purchased MINDst Drums last night and recorded my first song with it. How do I change time signature with MINDst Drums?
Sounds great!
Can additional toms be added to the kit?

Download is taking FOREVER. Gonna have to let this run over night. I have good internet at 800 Mbps download speeds.
Hi - Did you manage to download the samples eventually?
@@Modalics Yes. I used another browser. Oddly so, Safari wasn't working although I use it often. I tried with Chrome and installed easily. Weird.

Hey! We're happy to help with this.
Can you save an example Logic song and send it to info@modalics.com?

In the Map window you can hit 'learn' and then hit the right drum.
I have most of the drums software ,do I need my mind set or I need another drum software?

does it handle position detection for eg roland pd-140ds?
