      That’s true. I never rlly thought abt it that way but I’m glad I saw this comment cus I feel better now. My ex is avoidant and emotionally unavailable and she took no time to heal or process our breakup. She got with her new guy a month later and sped things up quickly… we texted 2 weeks ago and it became rlly obvious that she’s still bothered and upset abt what happened between us… she even admitted that she still wonders if we would’ve worked out 🤷‍♂️

    I went into No Contact because of these videos, and it's the first I've ever heard of it. Honestly, the first month was a living Hell, emotionally. Staying strong is tough, as the emotions ebb and flow like waves. The waves do get smaller though. After about 50 days after monkey-branching into a rebound, she texted me and tried to pin the breakup on me. I was brief and polite, but made it clear that this was her doing, and it's not my mess to clean up. I told her I hope she was well, and the ball was in her court. I haven't heard from her since. I didn't feel relief, but something better: I was grabbing control of my own emotional state. I had direction again. I didn't feel powerless.
    Now, as opposed to when the breakup was fresh, my head has started to see the forest from the trees. It doesn't matter if her rebound fails. If it does, I'm in a much different space than ' Gosh, I reaaallly wish she'd come back to me". I don't know what the future holds, but I know this: I am prepared for the worst now. She doesn't have that power over me. I can't thank you enough for these videos, Nick. I thought I was missing my ex, but I didn't realize the thing I was missing...was myself. I guess I'd been gone so long I didn't even realize it. At first, your videos hit me as 'tough love'. Now, they hit me completely differently, as if I just needed to come around and see it from a perspective where my judgement wasn't clouded by obsessing over my ex. What. A. Difference.
    If you're reading this and you're freshly dumped: Watch the videos. Re-watch them. Stay in no contact. I used to believe the 'win/win" line was a load of BS to soften the blow of getting dumped, and it's truly not. It's because your focus is in the wrong place. Get yourself back. Like, REALLY find the person you were before. You're number one, and you come first. It takes time while you're hurting to remember that. Trust me though : In time? You will. Be patient with yourself. It's coming. Don't believe me? Scroll through the comments.
    Thanks again, Nick. Your videos have really saved my sanity, my self-respect, and my dignity. I look forward to more, and if you're ever in Arizona, beer's on me.

      Can we get an update?

    • @joelvinson
      @joelvinson 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      @@Resin311 Sure! It's been a little over a year. As I said back then, my emotions were coming and going in waves. They still do, but it's not as extreme and I can kind of tell when they're coming. For example, a significant date or holiday will approach, and I've been through it once already so I know what to expect.
      DId she contact me? Yes. After 10 months, on my birthday, like clockwork. My situation may be different than some others, but she knew full well that she was the one who did me wrong. Unlike a lot of 'get your ex back' advice, I wasn't cheerful when she contacted me. I went blank, honestly. I had kind of given up after 10 months anyways, as all the 'signature advice' from these so called dating coaches seemed to not add up. Best I could muster was a 'Thank you" over Facebook, and haven't heard anything since. She knows how badly she hurt me, and it's up to her to apologize and/or do the work to reconcile with me. I don't think she will, as she doesn't have the personality type to be brave or swallow her pride.
      The last year has been...strange. As my previous message started off, I made all the knee-jerk reactions and mistakes. I did hurt the most I ever have been , emotionally. I didn't know how to cope. So, to fend off calling her and trying to change her mind, I watched all these videos over and over.and over. I could barely function, as I think I'm a pretty smart dude who couldn't comprehend how the hell I'd ended up in this situation.
      I didn't personally buy into the ' better yourself to get your ex back' mantra, but I desperately needed a distraction to get my sanity back. So, I started learning to DJ. And with that, I made new friends. I cried my eyes out a few times over the last year but after awhile... I started to realize what real friends would do for you ( or me). When a relationship ends with betrayal, it's almost like that person dies and takes a piece of you with them. They're not your friend anymore. Maybe it's different for amicable splits, but with betrayal? No.
      It took me a LONG time to figure out that I had molded myself into what this other person had wanted me to be, and suddenly it wasn't enough. I had forgotten what self-respect really looked like, and it's been a slow rebuilding process. I've watched a lot of psychotherapy videos, dating videos, and human nature videos. My best advice to anyone going through this is this : Like it or not, you've forgotten what made you strong. What made you special. Sure, you know it's there. And you don't have to bring it out to make others happy. You have to make yourself happy, and put yourself first. It's not cocky or egotistical, because if your ex won't take care of you, who will? I know it's a tough pill to swallow. Nick says it much more gently than I do, but you can't force someone to love you, no matter if you learn an impressive juggling act or get rock hard abs. Be. Happy. And while it might take awhile to find out how to do that, know that it is possible. Sure, the scars will always be there to remind you. But that's all they are. You're still breathing. Don't waste time worrying if someone else is worrying about you. If they are, they'll let you know. And if they do, remember that your self respect will help you make the right decision, not the easy decision. Cheers!

    I saw my ex for the first time in a couple weeks. She was gonna drop of some of my stuff but she didn’t wanna see me then like 10 minutes out she said are you gonna help bring this stuff in (i wasn’t I was far) but I went back to help and we talked a little bit. She got emotional a little bit but I was great. I told her I was doing really good (I truly am) and I’m in a much better place. I told her what she was doing wasn’t healthy (monkey branching) and she said she had already stopped talking to the other guy. She said she would come see me next week or soon. I’m sure her seeing me moving on and being successful without her really effected her. We hugged a couple time and she went on her way. I’m doing no contact for a while until she reaches out to me. #1 tip be confident in yourself and focus on yourself. I wasn’t very sure if she would ever come back to me and after just one interaction I already feel so much better. Either she will want to come back soon or I’ll already be streets ahead and won’t even care.

      @@lewistaylor3267 you shouldn’t put any attention on her or her life. Work on yourself, improve yourself and be confident in yourself. When you don’t care about those things and only care about yourself the rest falls into place. You will attract better people, better women. If your still set on getting her back just focus on yourself and when your far superior than the last time she saw you she will notice. But don’t make anything about her. Keep moving forward and if you don’t look back you won’t even see her.

    What always comforted me was the thought that most relationships, rebound or not, fail 😂 I mean what’s the chance of a relationship lasting till both are dead? I guess 1%. So they will break up one day…maybe in months maybe in years, but eventually they surely will. Sad but true.

    Talk about outsourcing. 12 Years down the tube. Just got a "its not going to work between us". She did it in such a cold matter of fact. This after she trapped me into fight to use as an excuse. Shortly afterwards I heard that she was already preparing for new guy. This new guy recenly divorced or in the process. Emotionally she left long time ago but never showed it. She also seem to be unable to be alone or work through feelings. Our relationship left me drained and emotionally fatigued. I blamed myself only to realise fuck that. They are both bringing their own pain to the new relationship. I think she might be dismissive avoident. I just started working on myself. She is ice cold and now the new rebound is receiving her full attention. I gues she's addicted to the idea of love and the Honeymoon phase. Love is not supposed to be brittle but rather face it she found it easier to move on.

    Bro, I really prescient work you are doing! I came here by mistake, and I am thrilled I did. It's tough, but your videos give me a lot of hope and motivation to move on. Hopefully, one day, I will get out of this shit and laugh at how silly I was thinking about the person who is not evolving and just moving from one relationship to another without time for any auto reflections. After your videos, I can see some patterns in her behaviour.
    It's hard after seven years of a relationship when the person who you loved the most is in a rebound 1 week after you broke up, but I see the light. I am progressing, going on therapy, trying to be a better version of myself. She is making the same mistakes from the past, stuck in the same place. My brain is telling me that it's a good thing we broke up, but my heart still is attached to the illusion of the person I wanted her to be.
    I fought for 1 year to go to therapy, but she didn't feel a need to do so. Now I know it is because she is not able to admit to her mistakes. She is not able to put work into creating healthy relationships. She is selfish and focused only on her needs.
    Wish you all the best!

    My ex (33 y/o) monkey branched after being together for 5 1/2 years. The woman he left me for is married and non-monogamous (I think polyamorous), and he says that non-monogamy is the lifestyle that he wants now! That just one person is never going to be all the things he needs. They have been together for 7 months, but they're still just calling eachother "friends"..like it's a friends with benefits situation. But from what it looked like to me, they're acting just like a couple, but without a label on it.
    He hasn't taken any accountability for anything, and has blamed me for everything. Said some very cruel things to me and made me feel like garbage about myself. He's only ever been in monogamous relationships, and we were eachother's first long-term relationship and first loves. It all just hurts so much, like he punched me in the face and stomped on my heart while I was down, over and over again. I don't even know what to think about this situation.
    Just trying to move forward and better myself, but I think about him (and him with her, unfortunately) every day still.

He said he never met anyone who was so emotionally fulfilling to him. I was an extremely caring & nurturing gf. He started crying while leaving and couldn’t get over me till Mar. now all of a sudden he is in love with an extremely beautiful girl from different country. That too met online. As the "rebound" I was definitely much better than my ex's baby mama. Our relationship was far from toxic like theirs was. This is pretty much saying you desire for the other person to be hurt, even if we provide a healthy secure positive relationship 🤔

      I’m not sure what you mean. Could you rephrase please?

      @rhonnieminnie ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheLoveFix-Nick tip 1. You called the rebound "low hanging fruit" therefore reducing their humanity. That's another human being with real feelings. Its very dissmissive.
      Tip 5 - "relax and watch the car crash" and you also refer to the rebound as "animals"
      Hurt people, hurt people. Taking revelry in watching another person get hurt is promoting toxicity. Is the goal of cheering on someone else's heartbreak just because you dated the same person going to encourage self growth? It comes off very insecure: "well im sad, so im going to get popcorn and a tasty treat because i waiting to watch someone else be sad"

    • @TheLoveFix-Nick
      @TheLoveFix-Nick  ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Response to tip 1.
      Calling a spade a spade isn’t reducing someone else’s humanity. It’s calling out the actions of the person rebounding. Facts don’t care about feelings. Im calling the facts of a rebound. The facts are, most times it is low hanging fruit as In it’s a bad match and bad decision. It’s nothing to do with the humanity of the target of the rebound.
      Response to your second point. You’re projecting your interpretation of my words back to me. I’m not responsible for your interpretations.
      Human beings are mammals which is an animal. Again, I’ve not said anything factually untrue.
      Im not promoting Toxicity and if you’re taking tip 5 literally, you obviously do not understand the message. The message is to wish your ex well with what is normally a sub optimal way to deal with a break up. 9 times out of 10, the target of the rebound is not as substitute as the previous partner.
      If you honestly believe that I’m telling people to go out and buy popcorn and to watch a train wreck, I fear that you don’t understand humour and satire.
      The message is, to not worry about your ex, to not be concerned what they are doing. Getting the popcorn is a metaphor. Everyone should be too busy working themselves to be concerned about their ex.

      @@TheLoveFix-Nick sounds like you were really hurt before by your ex rebounding. I am sorry for that and hope you healing. Based on your own words it does come off as you are villainizing the rebound. "Intent vs impact" just because it may not have been your intent, doesn't mean thats not the impact of your statements. Hope you find peace. 🙏🏾

      @@rhonnieminnie nah I can’t lie your point is the wrong mindset to go about this. That’s my opinion. There’s a reason why rebounds don’t work. Most of them end and that’s a proven fact anyway, the way you feel doesn’t matter lol

    Hi, my gf and I broke up one month ago. I did no contact but at the end of no contact, she unfollowed me on instagram but doesn’t block me on social media. She even doesn’t deleted from snapchat and on the contrary, she suddenly puts her location visible to me on snapchat. during these weeks she has not contacted me anymore. Why is she unfollowing me on instagram after 3.5 weeks?

      As Rehvex, no contact doesn’t end unless your ex reaches out.
