Did they fix the low audio quality / volume issues the Apple TV continues to have? Just compare any Atmos movie back to back on an Apple TV 4k and an Apple TV App ( say on the PS5), you would realize what I am talking about. The audio would sound muffled and will lack the dynamic range compared to the PS5 App. ( this is mostly true in a Home theater setup)
After updating to TV OS 18, I’m experiencing issues with youtube app as when I pause a video it starts playing back after screensaver appears. Also whenever I play a new video it starts in the middle of timeframe.
Hey Craig, like always a great video. The one thing that I definitely love the most about Apple TV and iOS 18 is that we can actually select what Apple TV can be our home hub. In addition, one thing I would love to see that we don’t have yet is that we can use multiple language with our HomePods like we do and Alexa and Google .
Craig, just and FYI, Enhanced Dialogue is not supported on the 2017 first generation Apple TV 4K. I think everything is, but not 100% sure. Also, some people were having issues being able to pick which device is their main hub, I still can’t pick mine. Great video, thanks.
Just a quick question: once updated Apple TV4K and HomePods 2nd gen. no Dolby Atmos is shown in Audio during a movie , which was usually listed when language options selected during movie. Also Dolby Atmos isn’t anymore playing. In Apple support there is no such a topic 😢
Hello, I have a Schlage Encode Plus that supports Homekey, how do I set up the ultra wide band to work on my lock, it works by touching the lock now, but I would like to open the lock by just walking up to the lock to open. You do NOT need to go into the Audio Video settings to turn on enhanced audio. You can do it while watching... It's the middle selection, to the upper right of the play bar
I have Apple Watch Series 4 (GPS), but it doesn’t seem to have the three dots on the remote. Version 10.6.1 (21U580) I tried to install iPadOS 18 earlier in the week, but it said the update wasn’t available and now it’s simply not there. I updated to the highest iPadOS 17 though.
The HomePod/Apple TV is one of the WORST products that Apple ever produced . Since the release of tvOS18, I have spent 3 hours with apple support and engineers on bugs that I found in this version of OS. They agreed that there was software bugs that were found and will be hopefully corrected in the next minor version of tvOS. These are the same kind of network bugs that they had in tvOS 16 and they had to correct in 16.1.
I’ve had a couple issues but overall it’s not a bad experience for me, I have a house of them. I’d rather have a home UI that isn’t chalked full of ads like a firestick.

Great update. As a big Apple Home user, the ability to select my hub is huge. Now the hub is finally set it and forget it.

Multi HomePods for Atmos would be a killer feature. Spatial audio with two speakers is a compromise.

No Enhanced Dialogue on my Apple TV as the option is missing from the list on my tvOS 18.0. Weird.
I have the 4K 1st Gen, and don't have the option of Enhanced Audio. Updated to tvOS 18.1.
