@@omairsh8 Odyssey is still faster in the 1/4 mile than a MDX A-spec AWD LOL. You're the one who's gonna be needing to drop those balls at the night stand after getting gapped by a minivan in your 60K+ fancy Honda. According to carnaddriver, 2022 MDX AWD does 0-100mph in 17.6 seconds whereas a 2021 Odyssey Touring (weighs 150lbs more) did 0-100mph in 16.6 seconds. Instead of getting a poser car maybe get something that actually performances lol. Even in the winter, winter tires on a Odyssey is WAY better than all seasons on a AWD car.

Doing “SNOW TEST DRIVE” and not even saying one word about what type of tires are on the car, (winter/all season/summer) through the whole time of driving, it’s just dumb and unprofessional. For those who understand winter driving, and needed that information, they had a chance to see it at the very end of the video (coincidentally). It looks like they are all seasons.

    • @hybridsnowleopard

The Genesis Gv80 is a World Class Luxury SUV. Which competes with cars even above the Acura MDX. The GV80 even goes head to head with the Bentley Bentayga which were both designed by the same designer Sangyup Lee. I do not hate the 2022 Acura MDX. I believe the acura MDX is a good looking car. The Genesis Gv80 is better than the 2022 Acura Mdx. The MDX looks too much like a Mazda which is not a bad thing. If you want to stay in denial about this then that is your opinion. And it is perfectly fine. I Respect your opinion. Again, I do not hate the 2022 Acura Mdx. I believe that it is a great luxury car. But when compared to the Genesis Gv80, the 2022 Acura MDX comes short. The Genesis Gv80 is a more luxuriously built Machine. I thank you for reading my comment.

This is supposed to be a luxury vehicle, and yet, the infotainment screen is sticking up in the dash like a cancerous growth. Acura can do better than this and mold the dash around it so that it looks integrated, and not an afterthought or a cheapskate mod that Kia might try to pull off.

Winter tires and SHAWD and it'll be a beast. I live in an area that is in top 10 of most snow in the world in each year for 6 months at least. Oddly, knock on wood this year is an exception but that can change any day. But I've owned SHAWD in snow before in a TLX, and while that car had other issues, it was a BEAST in snow. Far better than our CX5, the woman's vehicle also with winters. You guys actually got hit pretty good with snow down there.

@@ambassador8716 they don’t use old technology. They have one of the best if not the best AWD system and sound systems in the industry. The use of their tech is what’s controversial and some may not like a touch pad but the infotainment system itself is modern and well laid out. They have wireless Apple car play and android auto as well as amazon Alexa. They also used real wood, metal, and leather in their cars. There are many luxury brands that don’t even meet these standards but people are just blinded by badges.
Acura as a whole was consistently breaking their monthly sales records earlier this year. They are on the rise and definitely not dying. That is INFINITI. The industry as a whole though is currently not doing well because of chip shortages and price hiking. If you don’t like the MDX that’s fine but it’s better than many other luxury options out there at the moment. In my opinion the GV80, MDX, X5, and XC90, are the best in the segment at the moment. Followed by the GLE, Q7, and Aviator.

@@AFCompany This opinion imposed of American(Japan) marketing, no more and no less. Audio system is not bad(comparable Korean), but not luxury (like Böse, Harman, Bang&Olufsen in German). Engine is 7 years old, this is still the same high fuel consumption engine with low efficiency (looking for Audi). Seats painting is horrible, after 15k miles my beige driver seat is almost black. Wood is not really wood - it's a veneer, brakes are horrible too, paint of the body is a shit (I almost cover all body with a protective film). Gearbox shifting from 2 to 3 is a poor story. Headlights is not adaptive (even Mazda have adaptive). Design of brand new MDX is almost Mazda CX!!!🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️ This is humiliation. There are 1001 trifles that may kill this "love" to MDX, even rubber on wiper blades, that MDX owners are changing after every winter.🤬 After you pull down driver window on 1/4 it start to rattle in move... In rainy days keyless access working half a time. Wheel size drive me crazy - I can't find a good summer tires in this type-size!!!!! I don't understand why Acura better then another Japan or Korean brands? May be only better and agressive marketing in USA and their beautiful past with 1st NSX and Aerton Senna, that's all.

Great job Kirk. We just bought the Pearl Red 2022 MDX and drove all the luxury SUV's and nothing came close to the MDX. The other car reviewers also just are amazed at the 100% total inside and out MDX makeover. So much tech to learn, but after a week I am getting there. Acura has done the best job ever on this model. Here in our rolling hills in beautiful north Alabama this drives more like a sports car and I must say similar to the BMW X5 I drove a few weeks ago. By the way inside the gas cap it says you can use regular gas, mid-range and/or premium, not so on most Mercedes, Audi's or BMW's. After a week on regular gas I see NO difference in the relationship between that wonderful 10 speed combined with the great tried and tested 3.5 big six. There is no need for any more power, but this fall you can get the S-type with 355 ponies for tire spinning, etc. Love the huge brakes and wide track 20 inch tires too. This is one amazing vehicle! Hoping Acura makes a RDX PHEV for my wife, especially if the infrastructure gets upgraded over the next few years with level 2 charging, we will have charging set in the garage, but for long trips, that is a level of anxiety many do not need!

@@ambassador8716 you would prefer a new dowsaising engine that is too small for such large SUV. This is an old and good motor building school, because this engine is very durable. I am glad that acura is mounting this engine to the new mdx.

Acura has managed to become a HORRIBLE manufacturer! I am on my sixth new Acura (22 MDX), and my last! My car has been in the body shop for the last three months waiting parts after I hit a deer. The delay is ALL on Acura and they have offered NOTHING for the severe inconvenience.. I haven’t had a car at all for 2 months (Insur only covered 30 days), reported the issue to Acura corporate and haven’t even gotten so much as a “sorry for the delay” from them. They are simply pretending that me and my issue don’t exist. GREAT after purchase customer service. I am done with Acura! I will definitely be in a Lexus once this lease is up.

Two things stop me from considering Acura ever:
    (1)Clear coat
    (2)airbags
Acura/Honda might have improved them but I don’t like how they handled them initially. Who know what else they are hiding:)

Can Someone please tell me why is this called a 2022? It is was too early in 2021 to be calling a model into the next year. I get it if it was Nov or Dec, but in Jan 2021 to call a model 2022 does not make any sense.....

In my Jeep, I don’t care about going up the hill, I care about going down the hill. If momentum takes it too fast and you have to hit the brakes, you’re screwed. At least the Jeep has Low Range to crawl down real slow without using brakes. Acura SHAWD mdx or rdx has no feature like that. You can paddle shift into low, but it jumps to second after five mph. Then you’re rolling faster and you need brakes to slow down. Does SHAWD keep you in control?
