I haven’t finished watching the whole video yet, but I’m so glad to hear you’re doing so well! I found your channel last year… I was in PT for hip pain, and I had been referred to an orthopedic surgeon on suspicion of a labral tear. My chiropractor did an x-ray and didn’t see anything wrong, so while I awaited my appointment with the surgeon, I started searching around for vlogs about people recovering from labral repair surgery to get an idea of what to expect. I came across one of your videos describing the surgery and first few weeks of your recovery, and I thought, “oh wow, what a major ordeal to have to go through!” You mentioned hip dysplasia, and that rang a few bells because one of my hips was dislocated when I was born, and I wondered if there was any connection to what I was going through. I paused your video to Google “adult hip dysplasia x-ray”. I looked at the x-ray on Google, then at my x-ray from the chiropractor, and went “NOOOOO”. I immediately knew what would happen to me! Sure enough, my chiropractor had missed what was obvious to the surgeon: significant bilateral dysplasia. I had my first PAO this past July, and my recovery has been steady and good! Rough patches of course, but overall manageable, and there is already an improvement from what I could do pre-op, so I’m very grateful! My other hip is starting to go downhill now, so I’m starting to think about getting that side done. I just wanted to come on here and thank you for posting about your experience! If I hadn’t come across your video, I would have been pretty blindsided at the surgeon’s office, and things would have probably happened on a slower timeline; but instead I had time to process and research and get my head around what was going on. Wishing you lots of continued success in your journey!

Great video! So comprehensive! Are you going to do the go fellowship? Perhaps consider a lifestyle medicine board certification and be DOUBLE BOARDED. You can do this while still in Peds residency. Go, DocGirlFitness!! It is IN you!!

And thank you for the precious replies you made to my comments recently. I just returned to residency myself in FM. My daughter is doing well since her second PAO IN July. December removing the screws. Staying prayed up for the both of you. So glad you are doing so well, now!!

Thank you so much for the well wishes! I hope residency isn’t going well!! Also LOVE the idea of lifestyle medicine board certification! I’ve actually been looking into it and thinking of ways to incorporate it into my future career! Yes I decided on GI and I’m so excited to start fellowship this summer! 😍☺️
glad to hear things went well with your daughter’s PAO, fingers crossed that she’s having a speedy recovery from screw removal!

I had pao may 2021 none of it would heal so Feb 2022 they went in and done bone graft and plate but the plate was to short so didn't pull one part together then my surgeon said find someone else to fix me. so I still have a non union of the pubic ramus and the surgeon who done my surgery finally called me last week to say that that break shouldn't be causing me any pain it must be the psoas muscle so I'm on the list for a injection into that and he said if that don't work he might just remove the plate . I also have osteoarthritis and were the break is I can't get a hip replacement . I'm in pain 24/7 and I'm 33 . I'm in newzealand where their is no second opinion option. So sorry for the long post

I’m confused . Naproxen is one every 12 hours recommended on back of bottle . Ibuprofen is 4-6 hours . I take one every 12 as recommended since it is time released. If you were taking one naproxen every 4-6 hours then I am surprised you didn’t have more problems such as kidney issues 15:51

Because it’s not long term use.
